    Hi, I don't see the wiring example in the manual that was mentioned to connect to regular non control board fan relay. Current setup is 20 KW 4 element heat only Chromalox electric furnace with PSC blower motor running low and medium speeds (blue wire medium,red wire low). There are 4 sequencers and elements come on with about a 20 second spread between elements. The low speed is triggered by the first 1-20 sequencer through the normally close high voltage connectors on the fan relay and shortly after the med speed is triggered by sequencer #3 via low voltage set to fan relay to energize normally open contacts. Upon shut down it reverses itself. The fan only is operated manually on this furnace with a furnace mounted exterior switch that runs high voltage directly through the normally closed contacts of the fan relay. This house is small bungalow with wood stove as main heat and electric furnace as backup and supplementary heat during colder winter days. Current PSC motor isn't too bad on noise but getting old and would be nice to run quieter ECM motor and run a more low rpm fan only mode to distribute wood stove heat as well as the quieter operation during heat cycle.

    I have used this motor to replace I think the x13 motor and it works fine just make sure you set it along with the hamster cage center.

    What are the 5 speeds preset? I know the speeds of my OEM X13 but can't find the Evergreen's.

    Is there any way to reset the rotation sensing technology?

    • @InspiredScience
      @InspiredScience 2 года назад +3

      Yes - It just requires a method to connect to the ECM-harness with separate wires, so that you can prompt the motor to re-run the calibration.
      Here is a step-by-step:
      1. Disconnect the MAIN power to the Air Handler.
      2. Disconnect the Low Voltage Control Input connections (the harness or regular connection from the Air Handler PC board)
      3. Connect motor terminals 1, 3, & 5 to 24VAC. Connect Common to terminal C.
      4. Reconnect the MAIN power to the Air Handler.
      5. Apply the low-voltage to the 1,3,5 terminals connected in step 3. Keep this connected for a MINIMUM of 5 minutes without any interruption. This is very important, it's conducting the rotation sensing.
      6. Disconnect the MAIN power to the Air Handler (IMPORTANT: Minimum of 3 minutes)
      7. Reconnect the Low Voltage Control Input to the original harness / Air Handler.
      8. Reconnect all power to the Air Handler and it should begin running in the proper orientation.
      I hope that helps.

    I have a 6205E that wont turn off unless you flip the breaker (yes I have double checked the thermostat is not set to on). The hvac tech says he thinks it is a bad motor. Have you ever seen this happen before? Do you have to replace the whole thing or can you replace just the motor?

    • @wd8557
      @wd8557 3 года назад +1

      Remove the green wire off the thermostat to see if the motor shuts down. You could have a bad fan relay in the stat. Second look at the control board for that motor, it sends the signal to come on or off, it's simple as that.

      Check your high limits, you might have a open limit or faulty high limit switch making your blower motor to want to possibly run constantly, but like the other person said check your t stay wiring and disconnect the green wire at the circuit board.

    Do we not know the cfm? Do we just look for .5 or lower with good delta T, SC, SH?

    So I have one of these in my home, and I just want to confirm - in the arrangement you showed here, is the correct direction the counter-clockwise one? I've had problems with my AC in my home for a decade and no one can fix it. I was considering trying to reverse my motor after learning that one spinning backwards would still produce airflow, just at a much lower rate, and that describes my problem 100%. But if CCW is correct, mine is set up the same way as the one you have here, and clearly reversing it will not solve my problem, much to my continued frustration.

      Motor rotation depends. There is no one correct rotation direction to fit all. Specifically what is your decade old problem?

    I have found that the only thing that goes bad is the module ,very seldom is the motor go bad ,they don't last much longer than a year to 16 months standard motor will basically last as long as the unit!!

      ECM motors are sensitive to static pressure problems. if you don't replace your air filter regularly or if the ducting in your home is too small to move the required amount of air volume. those two factors greatly reduce lifespan of the ECM motors.
      Ours is going strong after 5 yrs so far

    Is it preprogrammed for a trane system ?

    • @InspiredScience
      @InspiredScience 2 года назад

      No. It's intentionally generic so that it can work with any system. If you are not familiar with how your system chooses pressure/CFM settings, then best not to use this motor. However, if you can invest the time to understand the difference with some additional research, it can save you a lot of money by using this unit and wiring as-needed.

      @@InspiredSciencebut it doesn't tell you the cfm, he says need more? Make it a higher speed and I get that but what do we just keep the static under .5 and look for good split sh/SC?

    I use one of these e m multi voltage and horsepower models on a Daikin univent that kept going through Motors. It was a PSC motor I replaced it with and it works great I like just a constant CFM that I need. Additional torque is what was really needed that's why I decided to try ECM motor need an additional torque with the 1/4 horsepower

    Why can’t be install in the 16 pin conection?

    • @InspiredScience
      @InspiredScience 2 года назад

      Easiest option is to replace the PC board on the air handler with the harness that matches the x13 units. Once you've done that, you can use this motor. The PC boards are cheap on eBay, often less than $30-40.
