Hi there, out of the 110, 112 and 114, what would you recommend for someone who does not use a pick and mostly plays fingerstyle? I only play at home and not live.
Thanks for your comment. The difference between those models is mainly the sizing. So if you like smaller guitars, go with the 110. If you like bigger guitars, go with the 114 and if you want a sizing that's just a bit smaller than a regular go with the 112.
@brodylockwood14 112e has the ES2. It takes a Plus model in the GS Mini line to get the ES2. Otherwise, it's the student pickup ESB. Also having had both the mini can get cramped if you're chording further up the neck. I've played many Taylor's over the years and the 12 size is by far the best balance between comfortable, easy to play, volume, and headroom (how much it compresses or doesn't gets louder when you strum hard).
@30smsuperstrat Thanks for your comment. I had decided I want a GS mini mahogony, don't care for pick up system as I don't play electric. I really wanted the 112 but it's now $1600 AUD vs $999 for the mini. I have quite slim fingers so the scale length should not be a problem.
I’ve been looking at both the 114ce and 112ce. I’ve read the info on Taylor’s site about both of these models. I know the 114ce is a slightly larger body, but how larger is “slightly” - are the tonal characteristics better for strumming, flatpicking on the 114ce than on the 112ce? I intend to play both fingerstyle and flatpicking, so any advice you could give me on this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your comment. The difference between the 114ce and 112ce is not that big in terms of size. If you look at both from a distance they both look almost equal. You definitely feel the difference when you hold them though. The 112ce is just a bit more slim. In the same way that the Martin 00-18 is just a bit slimmer than the Martin 000-18.
Só doido tem seus 25 a 30 mil reais pra pagar nesse violão eu não pagaria nem 4 mil reais não vejo nada de mais nesse violão o Takamine gd11 com 012 esse Taylor aí não chega nem perto
Nice work, thanks!
What does “S” mean ? Is there any difference between CE and CE-S?
Thanks for commenting. It stands for Sapele. This is the Sapele variant of the 112ce

@@soumanmusic Thanks! Deciding between the 112 and GS mini. Love your videos btw, haven't found anyone else who does so many good demos. Subscribed!

@@soumanmusic Thank you for the info. I “test drove” both the 114ce and 112ce, and chose the 112ce. Very happy with it.
the 114 is basically dreadnought sized lol
