Agreed. He's like this generation's Steve McQueen, but mixed with like a Jackie Chan and maybe even a little Evel Knievel. So yeah, there will never be another like him cause he's a combination of so many great things, and is sort of q fusion of types of actors we don't really see anymore. His dedication to the classic ways of making films and his determination to fully train his co-stars in whatever field their characters excel at, is second to none.

I've seen Top Gun Maverick 3 times already. It's that good and even though it's a relatively simple plot and the character doesn't demand too much of Tom. It's one of his best performances because he nails every aspect of the character. The movie out does the first in every respect, it has heart, nostalgia, incredible visuals, accuracy where possible with regards to flying the aircraft and their capabilities and the story is about as realistic of a story that could possibly be put together to actually get these aircraft on a mission and into a dog fight. It's a movie of simple components (outside of the cinematography and filming which are highly complex and state of the art) but all are handled with extreme care which culminates in something far more special than the sum of it's parts.
Incredible interview. He really enjoyed being there, embraced and respects all the Queen has accomplished. It is very apparent how important his craft is not only for himself but for the fans.

The man's got charisma... A subliminal message I got from the movie was summed up in the scenes where he is simply taking off on his bike down the highway grinning... ( never stop doing what you enjoy in life, pursue adventure no matter what stage in life you're in... )

Tom is absolutely all class. So warm and humble and comfortable in himself. So likeable.
I took my 16- and 18-year-old kids to watch Top Gun Maverick without having them see the original and they were blown away. They wanted to watch the original right after.

Covid killed a lot of people and shut the entire cinema industry down, an out break of covid would cost tens of millions of dollars in delays so not wearing a mask which is a well known rule gets a deserved shouting. So that was an absolutely terrible example, well done.

I too, like the interviewers, was terrified. Cannot believe Cruise pulled it off; film is dramatic, moving, powerful & suspenseful. Chemistry was real + perfect casting = best film of this year & maybe a few decades. Soundtrack legit!

If the truth be known ALL actors and actresses are arrogant, snob, assholes who believe the world revovles around them, and we are just ignorant masses who adore them. But for some reason, this does not seem to be the case with Tom Cruise. The man is truly kind and giving, and whenever other actors are asked about working with Tom....there is not a hesitation or a glance aside. "He's great" "Very professional" Absolutely the best to work with hands down". These and many more comments from all of his co-stars in his movies. This is what sets Tom Cruise above and makes him one of, if not the greatest living actor today. I;m sure many would disagree. But for me it's not just what you put on the screen that counts. It's what they say about you off screen. Tom is universally liked by everyone he works with in the business and outside the business. He is IMHO, an American treasure.

Top Gun Maverick is a masterpiece and it is a newborn classic. In my opinion it is better than the original which is not EASY to do. Everyone who has seen it that i've seen has been satisfied. It's a must watch. It sadens me that making a movie like this is possible, yet it's hardly ever done. I'm talking about the quality and decision making that goes into making a solid great movie. We see more and more politics in movies these days and the important thing that should be at the top of the priority list when making a movie which is for it to be entertaining seem to fall to the bottom of the checklist. This is very sad.
