- Maine Coon kitten Freya is growing up. Her mother Luna has loved her and taken care of her since she was born. But how does Luna treat her daughter now when she is over 5 months old?

A beautiful mom and her beautiful daughter. WOW. Freya is almost as tall and long as Luna. She's growing like crazy and we all know she hasn't finished yet. They're both special kitties. Thanks for sharing them with us.

Luna is such a beautiful mother/queen!!!! She is truly lovely! Her daughter, Freya is a doll and you can tell she adores her awesome mother! Such a beautiful clowder of kings and queens you have!!! You've got to be so proud of them! They are exquisite!!!!❤
What a lovely relationship these two have. Luna seems to be letting her daughter grow up at her own pace, only intervening if she thinks Freya is going too far - and what mother and daughter don't squabble occasionally! Freya is gorgeous, but Luna has her own quiet beauty and charm - and Buster is dashingly handsome. You have a wonderful feline family. Thank you for sharing these moments with us.

That`s a very nice relationship they have 😻 Luna is more big sister than mom now. I`m happy to see Luna play with Freya, pouncing on her and wrestle her. After playtime it`s cuddle and bathing time. It`s the same relationship my Maya had with her 2 kittens, they loved each other very much. I hope Freya continues listening to Luna when she outgrows her.

I think she's been like normal for several months already, she has perhaps just not been in so many videos lately 🙂
She actually pretty much stopped growing at 10 months old. She still weighed the same when she got pregnant several months later.
After the kittens she has gained a little bit of weight, but she is almost done growing I would say.
Yes, she will be 2 years old in April 🙂
Freya is growing so fast,she'll overtake Luna soon. Maybe her dad was a big cat x she's taking after him. Luna looks like shes a petite cat. So lovely watching them together.
Yes, Luna is a bit small for a Maine Coon and the father is pretty big.
I actually have plans to make a video with the father soon, so stay tuned for that!

They are so pretty! I was hoping my older male cat would calm Custard down when she was a kitten but he's really only there for her when she wants to play or scared because she's about to vomit with a hairball.

Love this video of Luna and Freya playing, fighting and loving 1 another probably in March,2023..do they still hang out alot together..like mom and dtr? Luna seems Luna hangs out by herself now..is this true?

That's not fighting. That's playing. Cats playing can look like fighting. If they were actually fighting it wouldn't look like that.
I've been just back thru some of your older videos..this one of the special love between Luna and Freya. It was so adorable and loving..is this why you chose to keep Freya and put the other kittens in this litter up for adoption? It must have been a very difficult decision.. Freya is a lovely young cat..
I think all kittens in the litter had a nice bond with their mother. There was just something special about Freya. She is such a beautiful and sweet cat 🙂

The orange cat in the house is Buster, but he is not related to the others.

Cats and animals have different paternal relationships to a human parent and child. The same behaviours we see here can be seen amongst any two cats who grew up together. The fact of the matter is a mother cat will grow distant to their kittens at a certain rate and let them move on. I am not saying they can't have wonderful relationships and bond, but it is very much the same like two non related kittens that grow up together. Hence, the title of this video's answer is, no......but also in a way....yes.
Yeah, you're probably right. I just wanted to show their relationship now that Freya is getting older. They still care a lot about each other, but they are not as close as when Freya was much smaller of course.
Don't take this video too seriously because I'm no cat behaviour expert. I just wanted to show a glimpse of their relationship now 🙂

The kitten is squinting one eye...I have noticed in other videos...my kitty had a eye infection...and did this ..I took her to the vet and what they gave her did not work...then a vet sent a culture to the lab ...my kitty had herpes in her eye...not uncommom...but hard to treat...she was treated for 4 months and she is okay now...I just have to watch to be sure it doesn't come back...
I haven't noticed anything wrong with her eye, but I will be be careful and watch out for any symptoms like that. Thank you 🙂
