Respond to this video... yeah... you're so right! It's really time for harp music renaissance in Europe. Yatga is nearly unknown here, nearly impossible to buy in a shop (except in the Musikkeller in Hamburg) If I remember right you can hear her on the soundtrack CD of the movie "Cave of the yellow dog" from Byambasuren Davaa. I've met her personally in June, she's very nice person and for sure she could teach a little bit.

A technical point: the correct English word for these instruments is "zither".
But she plays them beautifully! And ojutan is right: it is time for a renaissance of the harp (in the western meaning) in the west.

I am actually wondering the same thing myself.
Some yatga look just like a Chinese guzheng or Korean kayagum and yet are still called a yatga. I also read that they are shipped from Korea and China as well.
I'm guessing they are just called yatga when a Mongolian plays it in Mongolian style. . . ?
--But actually, I don't care too much, I love the Mongolian style of playing yatga, despite where it comes from.
    Great music.

The guzheng or gu zheng (Chinese: 古箏; pinyin: gǔzhēng, also simply called zheng (箏, gu 古 means "ancient"), is a Chinese plucked zither. Nowadays, It has 18-23 or more strings and movable bridges.
The guzheng is the ancestor of several Asian zither instruments, such as the Japanese koto, the Mongolian yatga, the Korean gayageum, and the Vietnamese đàn tranh. The guzheng should not be confused with the guqin (another ancient Chinese zither without bridges).

This instrument is Chinese. Insturment called 箏/zhēng. There are varied accounts for how the guzheng came to be. An early guzheng-like instrument is said to have been invented by Meng Tian, a general of the Qin dynasty (221-206 BCE), largely influenced by the se.Some believe the guzheng was originally developed as a bamboo-tube zither as recorded in the Shuowen Jiezi, which was later redesigned and made from larger curved wooden boards and movable bridges.A third legend says the guzheng came about when two people fought over a 25-string se. They broke it in half, one person receiving a 12-string part and another the 13-string part.
