    Joel eats, drinks and breathes music and has done his entire life. He’s got a musical mind that nobody else will have for a very long time. He’s such a rare talent. I’ve been listening to him since 2009 and his music is still just as groundbreaking and memorable now as it was back then.

      I'm not saying that Garrix is a bad producer, just saying that probably he can't create sound from scratch using a Moog or an Eurorack Modular as Deadmau5 does, garrix uses presets and drag and drop ready samples for drums probably. PS. Of course his music got better, with all the team you got behind you when you are famous like him, from songwriters, to producers and sound engineers of course you music get better.

    The Modern day Mozart. The moral of Joel's story is he totally IMMERSED himself in music production and took zero fucking shortcuts. Success never fell on his lap. It was self engineered. I love this mans music

    Mutually beneficial relationships are soooo powerful. I think a lot of folks are so focused on only doing something for cash. Especially younger ones struggling to survive. Education and knowledge are some of the most important "things" anyone can have. No one can steal it... the same can't be said about the cash in your wallet or bank account.

    i always tried to connect with ppl in person, to get my music out. But the problem is, i live in fucking Germany where everyone is just there for themselves and dont care about others. And in the internet its so hard to stand out of the million other people creating music in their bedrooms and uploading it on soundcloud.

    • @FernandoKovalchuk
      @FernandoKovalchuk 5 лет назад +3

      Yeah, many things changed over the year! i found very difficult to make real life connections too, specially when you start to get older, people have a hard time trusting in my intentions and actually caring about stuff that i do. I'm from Brazil and i've tried to go on a studio close to home, just like joel did, but people there don't really want me hanging around there XD. I tried doing that, didn't work, but i accept that, i'm not in canada, i'm not in the 90's. I have to try diffirent things, be persistent and always learn, like joel recommended, that didn't changed. It's not a quick process, especially today where anyone can do this from home, it's not a new and difficult thing to do anymore, it takes more effort now. I wish you good luck in your career and much success with your music!

    • @rhcpmd

      How is that going now? I just moved to Germany during Covid and yeah it is quite impossible to make real life connections...but I do want to be surrounded by music everyday, create and hopefully make a living out of it. Now it's crazy hard, you gotta to be on Instagram like everyone else, people buy loops libraries and make tracks instantly, everything keeps getting more and more saturated. Rough times :)

    Don't know his music very well but I took an interest in him and the more I see his videos / Twitch, the more I appreciate he is an artist with integrity, believes in what he does, is demanding with himself and does search for sound innovation, instead of making a record in 5 minutes with samples and plugin presets.
    I'm glad he succeeded artistically and financially.
    He looks like a pretty decent human being and fun friend. Too bad I'm not in Canada ;-)

    I love the purity of the approach. I'm trying to learn to make music and this is inspiring. I wouldn't say "don't watch videos" to pick up abilities and understanding - but figuring things out on your own really is the only way to come original. Not everyone has time for this (if you're doing music as a side gig) - but you get the point.

    This is so inspiring! Of course I decide to turn my life around and pursue music seriously and then covid hits. Making the face to face connections is much trickier now. im definitely an avid fl studio user. But this shit takes hard work to be great no matter the DAW. Fl studio tutorials can only teach you so much. Especially if you want to brand your own sound.Being tangible with artist and people is the best way....there is no easy way to make the big dollars...hard work and dedication.if you dont believe you cant achieve.
