EVERYONE THIS IS HOW CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM SOUNDS LIKE . Pointing fingers at the arrears which could have been better, yet not disrespecting them or the song as an whole . THANK YOU SO MUCH for giving such a matured reaction to this !
FUNFACT bout the song: - Jennie straight up started the song with notorious big lyrics references "kickin the door waving the 44" - lisa's "one by one then two by two" references to rihanna's "pon de replay" song - "look what you made us do" lyrics references to taylor swift's song - lisa and jennie rap part using the synth sound reference to easy e's song "real muthaphukkin g's" (homage to boom bap era) - jennie wearing manchester united t-shirt with numbers 96, the year she's born Theres also a refference to 50 cent, nas and wu tang, try pick it up All this refferences seems relevant with this month 49th hip hop culture annvrsary Ps: I think they also refferencing to their upcoming world tour, Blackpink will held their world tour likely not on an arena, but straight to ya muthaphukkin dome 😎😎 Taste that venom!!
İt's basically recycled song lol but it's still dope Not surprised with all these references cuz YG producers r almost Koreans/Americans like Teddy and many others YG got that westren style since day 1
Another interesting factor: different reactors focus on different elements (visuals, lyrics, fashion, beat, rapping, singing, editing, choreo, etc) so depending on what facet you focus on you’re going to have a different experience with the song. It’s never as simple as “Song Good” or “Song Bad” lol
dude i seriously dont get what "bad" they hear out of this song XD sure tastes are different... but this all feels perfectly blackpink balanced to me. even the singing parts and the instrumentals fits PERFECTLY to them especially rosé and her rocker vibe here. they didnt really wanna go "soft" on her. even read the lyrics. they sound violent lol. She is basically saying "i take your soul" while holding a heart. this all matches perfectly in my opinion. there is absolutely nothing bad in this song. especially from a production standpoint. Just because somebody doesnt like a song doesnt make the song bad.
@@Ivan-th7iu among the blinks this song is probably the most beloved so far. i have never seen blinks as united as with this comeback. this shows in how hard we stream on basically every platform. we even broke the spotify global charts record for the kpop song with the longest #1 there. we got first time #1 in itunes in the US AND the UK. even in korea its so close to hitting a RAK(Realtime all kill) on the charts there. #1 Bugs (=) #1 Genie (=) #1 FLO (=) #2 MelOn (=) this song is a smash hit right now. i seriously dont know where the negativity comes from. surely not from blinks themselves(of course there will always be somebody among the fans who didnt like a song but the majority of the blinks seem to be very happy). On the first day i was basically ONLY in the blink bubble(checking all fan accounts on twitter and instagram while streaming) and it was ALL positive and hyped AF.. just after we reached all of our goals and i stepped out of the bubble i heard about this negative shit going around and i was wondering why? i was surprised.. it HAS to come from other fandoms. I also watched like 30+ reactions to this MV now.. alot from none kpop stans.. and 99% is totally positive again. i didnt see a single reaction that was like "this song is bad".
@@Ivan-th7iu you really don’t listen to a lot of kpop then … and also “kpop” isn’t even a genre in itself anymore, there’s hundreds of sub genres within it. It doesn’t have a “sound” it’s just music in Korean language
So for me it’s my one of my favorite kpop songs. I love the rap parts and I’m obsessed with the chorus. I do understand the sentiments about the chaesoo pre-chorus parts. I think it’s the melody and vocal arrangements that contrast the power of the instrumental that can throw someone off. I can see why some might not like it. But I enjoy the song overall. Again that chorus and the instrumental on that chorus is sick. It’s reminiscent of early 2000’s hip hop and r&b beats, which is where some of beats are from. The chorus feels like classic hip hop and r&b. I also agree that the hate the girls and reactor’s are receiving is ridiculous. Folks who hated it are deadass out here trying to gaslight folks into thinking their crazy for liking it, or they wanted reactors to just be repulsed and straight faced throughout the entire thing? They’re not assholes and they are not here to validate your distaste towards the girls. Nope, won’t stand for it. I know what I like, no one is shifting that. Majority of the aggressive backlash are from antis who constantly create controversy around the girls. The girls can’t take a step with there being someone ready to tear them down. Honestly, they do this every single comeback and then shift gears as soon as few months past. They suddenly decide the song is iconic and are dancing and covering the hell out of the song. They hate the song until a new one comes around for them to hate and then the cycle continues. I would either ignore folks who are being disgusting online or just block, report and delete them. Don’t give them the attention they crave.
If the beat keeps going harder after Jennie's 1st verse, It will become K-Rap instead of K-Pop. I love the anti-drop in the hook. Its nasty, their voices spicy, the choreo sexy.
Legit was waiting for your reaction. I understand what you mean with vocals. It threw me off a bit. It’s taken me a couple listens to get used to it. I really think this song was meant for Lisa and Jennie. Not saying the others weren’t good, but the vibe suits Jenlisa more to me
It honestly does feel like a Jenlisa song with Rosé and Jisoo sprinkled here and there, but you know what? I think that's fine! I know some people won't like that, but the song is a pre-release anyways. There's still the title track and full album to come 👌
@@lalalalisa41 I agree, and there is a chance there is a song where it’s the exact opposite where it’s more of a Rose and jisoo song with sprinkle of Jenlisa. I’m legit just happy they are back.
Jennie ATE this comeback. A sick intro rap which is a great adaptation of biggie flow and shout out, then the chorus, then old school chopper flow on an old school beat. She proved why shes the main rapper
This was the kind of comeback I was hoping for. I think people's expectations were through the roof because of all the amazing songs they released in the past, which are all hard to top. Songs that switch up a lot like this one aren't always instant favorites, but they have a lot more staying power and get better with repeat listens compared to more predictable structures. I get what you are saying with respect to the vocals in the Rosé parts, but given that her voice has such an interesting timbre to begin with, they can afford to bury her under the music a little and she still shines through.
I actually love this song… To me their singing went along with the music… It was more pounding and in your face type lyrics. I really think as far as reactions go, yours is the second best even though you did not like the song as it was done. I like how you cut it into pieces and explain the parts you didn’t like and why as well as highlighting the parts you did like and what made them so good. It’s OK for people to react and have opinions that they didn’t like the song or didn’t think it was the best just like there are many of us who actually loved the song. The part I don’t like is when people just say it’s trash or it was horrible or how they will drag down one of the girls to try to make the other one stand out more. BLACKPINK is BLACKPINK. There are four members and each one plays a special role and gives a special sound to their music. I totally can understand what you are saying about the music over powering Jisoo & Rosés voice in certain parts, But I thought it made them push their voices to be more belting and forceful and not so soft & light, which is the effect I thought Teddy was going for. Even though you and I have different opinions, because I love the entire song, I can understand what you are saying and can appreciate it because you’re not degrading any of the girls. I wish more people could react in the manner that you do.
Bro, thanks for giving your honest and insightful review on the track, and still being respectful to the artist and their craft. You are a great example of how a dissenting opinion should be presented. Respect. Personally, I love the song. I am abscessed with the chorus. It's different for them but still the same Blackpink, if that makes sense. That anti-drop was sick and unexpected. This song slaps in the car especially when the chorus comes in. Teddy is known for having "upteen" different music styles in the music he produces, so for anyone following BP for years, this was nothing new. Now that you mentioned it, giving Jisso a rap verse would have put the song in a different direction (Jisoo is good rapper) and kept the track on the same heightened level (similar to pretty savage). They did listen to the fans and brought their tag team JenLisa rapline back. For me, this is Teddy's best effort of melding and transitioning the many sounds he incorporates in his songs. It had me bopping. It's on replay for me. I am looking forward to the Album. With all the traveling they did over the past two years, they have been working with a lot of US producers and writers. I am remembering their last pre-release single, "Lovesick girls", that track was not indicative of the songs that eventually ended up on the album. Half of the album was in English. Music is relative everyone. We are all not going to like the same songs and music. Like what you like, love what you love, but be respectful of the artists and their hard work. Peace
personally disliking BLACKPINK's music? fine, understandable having a different opinion/perspective/perception/constructive criticism/POV over any product from BLACKPINK nor YGE? again, totally understandable... but when yall just straight up hating/trolling/twisting/brainswashing nor even forcing your personal thought-process toward somebody else then sorry not sorry i have to say yall need to get a better things to do, get some proper therapy or just live your life to the fullest... like seriously tho, these whole backlash against anything that related to BP or YGE or just the constant appearance of random "sudden musical expert" who shamelessly bashing BLACKPINK's music is just extremely becoming more ridiculous at this point, i mean lets be real, yall get paid for doin that? yall happy? or is that the purpose of your life until you die? i'm genuinely asking these questions for f sake... Honestly i'm glad that many people like Linton still exist to this day but these toxic minorities that oftenly remarking themselves with so-called "i know what's good nor perfect music should be sounded like" mindset is just undeniably cringe AF smh...
People forget is pre - release and say it trash and stuff but do realize is pre - release full comeback is sep in my opinion like the song also nice video always have positive energy
For me at first I was like yeah pretty good but not as good as I hoped. Then after listening to it more and just having it on while I did chores at home I found it grew on me a lot and I really enjoy it now.
@@fireruby1882 its like a taster song to create hype for the upcoming album. The different sounds that pink venom has encourages the idea of the possible versatility of sounds in the album.
I love your honest opinion. For me this is my favorite Blackpink song now. Its quite different from their other hit songs but its a blast and satisfying. Excited for their album.
Pink Venom is my jam right now! It’s been on repeat!!! I personally liked the transition between Lisa’s and Rosé’s parts. Music is subjective and let’s see how BLACKPINK can top this song in their next release.
📕 The musical references of Pink Venom. = 😋 Jennie starts out with a reference to Biggie’s famous line “Kick in the door, wavin 44” (Jennie says Coco) 🥳 Next Lisa references Rhianna’s “Pon de Replay” with “One by one then two by two” 🤑 And also 50 Cent’s P.I.M.P. with “You couldn’t get a dollar outta me”. 🥰 Rose and Jisoo both reference Taylor Swift with “Look what you made us do”. 😎 Finally, the Jennie and Lisa rap verse is backed by a sample of Ice Cube / Easy-E’s part of “Gangsta Gangsta” by N.W.A.
I think you’re my favorite reactor. Yours seems so realistic and non-bias. What’s annoying about other reactors who are familiar with blackpink is that they praise every single thing they do in the music video and it just doesn’t seem real. Shoot, i praise everything that BP does cuz I’m a huge blink but i know some areas of the song that could’ve been better. You described the song very well. I totally agree that if they kept the momentum of Jennie and Lisa’s part in the beginning verses, this definitely would’ve been their best song.
OH MY GOODNESS YES YES YES!!!! I clicked so fast when I saw the notification, and let me just say THEY CAN ALL STEP ON ME!! Holy cow don't get me started on any of them like Jennie WHAT THE HECK she went for my throat she is just STUNNING and her Vocals and Rap went OFF like holy cow (sorry I'm going to say that a lot) and the first scene with her in the red dress was just lethal (the fact that they were all wearing their brands was everything), just YES and don't get me started on the dance! Okay dude again LISA WAS COMING FOR ME she really wanted me dead this entire Music Video all of her looks were just something else, she was just Lethal like always and her Rap and Vocals were just not okay like I said she went for me and that JenLisa Rap was EVERYTHING when I saw those two together I legit screamed because I am a big JenLisa fan and they were just so cute! Rosé was just WOW JUST WOW, like dude her Angelic Vocals had me on the floor and when I saw her playing the electric guitar I needed to go to the Hospital because I think I had a stroke I could not talk for a GOOD minute not to mention how lethal she was (THEY ALL WERE) and I keep saying this but that might be one of my favorite looks from her! And Jisoo WENT OFF that girl wanted me DEAD she finally got some good lines (finally YG) and her Vocals had me in the floor her husky voice just made my soul leave my body that is what she was doing while they were gone for so long she was practicing nonstop (She already had amazing vocals but Wow), and her Visuals were just unreal and her with a lip piercing just WOW! Again I think this was everyone's era they all went CRAZY on this song, personally though at first when I heard the song I wasn't sure on how to feel about the chorus and then I listened to it more and it grew on me it's definitely a grower! Anyways I can't wait for you to react to Blackpink such as more Music Videos, B - Sides, Live Performances, Covers, Dance Practices, Moments, and of course Ships! I can't wait for more Content from you and I hope that you are doing well and staying safe and healthy! P.S. If you ever need any good Videos I could totally help you out if you need it, also YES Lisa with the red hair is just Phenomenal! And don't get me started on that Water choreo at the end!
Wow, I usually agree with you - but not this time. The vocals were fire. I feel they had to come out first with Blackpink-style before they could deviate on the album. It's too bad they have to be "hard" to be accepted.
I genuinely love this song! Now, the chorus really threw me off at first but I believe it was in a good way (I was honestly mine blown for some reason lol) because when the chorus later came up again, I was full on vibing along with the girls. The transition from the chorus to the rap also threw me off because it felt disconnected, but for some reason, when I listened to the song by itself without the MV to distract me, it didn't feel like that at all lol. Rosé and Jisoo's parts really grew on me with each listen as well 👍👍
I think its interesting (just like how you pointed out) the song is instrumental based. But except for the intro we never hear just the instrumental- theres always someone singing/rapping. Personally I'm not really into the chorus. The first time I heard it it threw me off a bit. Not only was the prechorus anticlimactic but so was the chorus, at least to me. And usually I like that type of choruses. I think that maybe if they added some kick to the "Taste that pink venom" part, or added something to the second chorus it would've been better for me. A good example of a song like that is ATEEZ's "HALA HALA" the song grew on me tho and I am curious about the live performance and dance practice :)
If you couldn't enjoy the chorus... That means that you had never appreciated Black Girl Group's standard of anti-drop in their choruses. Like those of Blaque, TLC, Destiny's child, En Vogue and even JADE. The aesthetic of it, the choreography, even the scene settings with those flowing curtains, beige/ cream outfits on the first chorus and modernized fit and scene for the second chorus bringing that aesthetic contrast that gives focus. And to point out that the chorus instrumentals were arabic or hindu-esque have never thought about listening to Candy Shop or those types of music from the 90's with the beat and synth flowing like that. The fact that they gave homage not only to Hip Hop Rap on so many aspects, but also to the Black Girlgroups of the 90's releasing this in 49th HipHop Month (August) is something of a feat. Because they paid HOMAGE not shout outs for clout. This is their first STEP for their Comeback and they paid HOMAGE. Not for breaking records or getting bank... But for homage. Most Expensive and had the members had no expectations on breaking records. THAT SAYS ALOT. Blackpink is The Revolution and they're only getting started. That Glass Ceiling for Women Artists being Broken whilst being continuously compared to Male Groups, pulled down by haters, ridiculed by Misogynistic locals, and snubbed by Local Koreans. Meanwhile those authentic hiphop, rock and roll and LGBT fans listen in and tune in to the Girl Group that intends to break records held by alot of people and leave the low standard behind.
SO GLAD YOU FINALLY REACTED TO IT!! And I KNEW you would say everything you did 😂see I had a feeling as well the singing didn’t go well with the instrumental. MAYBE if they had a lower tone but I just don’t know what it is about it that seems off. Their singing is great but it doesn’t mesh well with the sounds. The chorus took a few listens for me to enjoy fully because I’m obsessed with heavy beat drops. HOWEVER, I’ve QUICKLY realized how dope this song is because BlackPink doesn’t need a crazy beat drop every song to show how cool they are 😌and the instrumental is my favorite part. I fricken love that specific sound in the chorus. Jennie is the main rapper and she doesn’t get enough recognition SO HER RAPPING REALLY MADE ME HAPPY! Anyway that part you talked about working out had me dying😂you never fail to make me laugh haha love you man. And thanks for the honest reaction! 💙 Sorry this was long lol
I gotta say...I'm not really an online kpop fan or anything, I just listen to the new releases of my fave groups on Spotify and enjoy, and I fuckin LOVED this release (it also went straight to my jogging playlist - such a hype song). I was honestly baffled when I saw online that apparently it was a divisive song, but I really enjoy your balanced analysis and I can see why someone might say that the singing kills the momentum or feels out of place here. I love it personally but yeah the transitions aren't the smoothest. Also, I just found your channel (and subbed :)) so I dunno your history with listening to Blackpink, but your comments on Jennie's rap made me smile. She's always been my favourite as she's seemed like the most versatile of the four girls since their debut, but especially in DDU-DDU DDU-DDU, her rap goes so damn hard that I can't help but stan her. Lisa's got flow too and none of them are untalented at all but Jennie just kills her parts every damn time.
Loved the rant and your comments - now I remember why I subscribed. I have a very different take on the black and the pink. I didn't see much pink in there. In the arc of the song there's a lot of use of contrast. Applied to the vocals alone, there was a buildup throughout to that epic last verse. Rosé, with her vibrato on "so" and the run on "rock and roll", on top of that powerful, scary bassline was incredibly menacing, which then led into the brilliant dance break finale. I liked the song all the way through, especially - well, all of it. I do think the song, with the whole music video was brilliant and their best effort to date. This one displaced some of my cherished favorites. And shows a lot of development as artists.
I literally like this song and they're breaking records and become number one in charts..In these 2 years of blackpink hiatus..what do you expect from them in this comeback like they should do rap like eminem and vocals like mariah carey...In these 2 years of blackpink hiatus these kpop stans are got addicted to cutie , bubblegum and summer concept from other idols.. Their is so many nonkpop stans becoming kpopstans because of this song..And these Toxic kpop stans are spiting hate everywhere saying this is not their cup of tea is literally laughable..This is the best comeback from them in my opinion..Lets stream more guys..Lets make 200M soon❤️
No surprise that there are CL vibes. That's the whole idea. 💯 both Jennie and Lisa say that's who they try to emulate. Any old school kpop fans know that's been the whole concept of BP from the start. There would be no BP is there was no 2NE1. That doesn't mean I an discrediting BP. The girls are talented, and beautiful. I'm just stating the obvious.
When they make their songs. They have a specific ideas on which they mainly focus the build on Rap/instrumental or vocal base. So basically once they got the key part(which this song is the chorus+rap verse which highly focuses on Lisa and jennie) they start building other sections towards the song. Explain why the pre-chorus feels a bit out of place and not lift up other parts. Their producer explain this while showing HYLT creation process on one of the interview. Personally I love this song since first listen and production-wise it’s one of their best yet. The pre-chorus was okay but it could be better compared to how dope and smooth the chorus and rap verses is. I literally vibing with their chorus real hard since first listen it was so hip so chic and sassy
LISA did everything A+ she's insane in this comeback. She showed everything and she nailed each. JENNIE's on fire in this comeback too, love to see her rap and to show she's the main rapper. ROSÉ's voice is so angelic and sooo goood to hear. JISOO's ethereal beauty and great voice need I say more. This is their best comeback for me. Everything's on point. I am so proud of them. So excited for their second album coming this September. It's gonna be insane. 🔥💎
Teddy and BP work so hard in this song or album. Fans always wished that Lisa and Jennie will rap 2gther And teddy did. I knows it’s their opinion but know ur limits dude.! The song is just so awesome for me and I’m glad BP is here and im happy!❤️🙏🏻
Liked your rant at beginning...I thought during reaction, it was a pity you were burdened by other reactor etc opinions...thx for your reactions and keeping it real bro.
Appreciate your honest reaction... I've been keeping my thoughts on this song to myself since it released because I needed time to digest it. I didn't like it upon first listen. It felt like I was listening to 3 or 4 songs forced into one. With time, it is more digestible. But, it is still probably my least favorite BP song. Noone can deny the girls' talent. BP was the first kpop group I liked. Usually their songs hit on first listen and are cohesive. But, something in the production of this song just feels off for me personally. I really hope that the rest of their album is better.
This totally of the topic of how the song sounds or how good or bad it is. None of the people I've seen react to it has noticed that at the end of Lisa's first section when she holds the bitten apple up to her face her eyes turn pink.
Great reaction and review :) Personally, I liked the song including the singing parts and rock elements (I want a full rock song for Rose and Jisoo sometimes in the future!). So I disagree with you on the singing. Instead for me the "antidrop" chorus (and switch up) didn't fully work, but I understand (and respect) why they went that direction. For me still a great (and insanely high budget) production. Not my favorite Blackpink song but also not my least favorite. Regarding "backlash": I didn't see much this time. I remember way bigger outcry against every single Blackpink MV back in 2020. First "How You Like That" was to familiar, later "Lovesick Girls" was to different. Nowadays both of these songs are considered among the best Blackpink songs ever. So this "backlash" at release is just the usual stupid nonsense. Everybody who claims this song is trash is obviously just a troll or entitled toxic fan. If you're as insanely popular as Blackpink, you will always have these at release. Don't feed the trolls! Of course nothing against different tastes or constructive criticism like yours. Thats how it should be done.
I also didn't get the vocals at first but the more I listened to the song, the more I started to get the idea. I also think that Rose contrasted a lot with the heavy instrumental in the first part, and Jisoo's darker tone suited more that part. But Rose at the end... wow, she killed. But you're right 100% about that part and I think you're the only reactor who said that. Thumbs up!!! P.S. I'm a forever blink so I will love whatever they do, haha.
im glad they did not take the formulaic route huge in ur face beat drop in their first chorus...they make it different and teasing, and at least giving u the one u wanted at the end with the rattata....im truly am glad they make an anti drop since the first half is so badasses, with the string jisoo playing, with the hard punch jenny, and singin lisa,, rapping part..so they balanced it all with the soft teasing chorus which i kinda like......
The song feels like 3 different songs put together and just when I was like ok maybe I was wrong the drop happened and it lost me again. The chorus is stuck in my head wish it was attached to a different song with better lyrics.
I appreciate your honest and thoughtful reaction even tho I have a different opinion about the vocals in the song. But at the end of day it's also a matter of taste and I respect that. Plus.. having different opinions it is OKAY 😅 I follow reactors bc I wanna get their actual reactions and thoughts. Maybe learn something new i didn't get myself, experience it through someone elses eyes. It's no fun if they're trying to find mistakes or get with the hype just for the sake of having a popular opinion. So if I feel that 'x' reactor is just pretending I'll just stop follow them. I don't think it makes any sense to pressure a reactor to validate your own opinion. Nor I think it makes for a good reaction trying to appease what they see as a general opinion whether good or bad. If I wanna know what commenters think, I'll read the comments.
That's ok if some people don't like Pink Venom. Music is like everything else. It's based on preference, everyone has their own taste. And even when Blink don't like this, that's ok too (although still many Blinks love Pink Venom). BP can't make everyone happy. No one can't make everyone happy. The most important is their enjoy their song. And even Blink who doesn't like this song should respect BP, because they put a lot effort, hard work, and love. But for me, I loveeee this song! Maybe one of my favorites of them 🖤💗
Yeah, I thought like you too. This song was catchy. I really liked some parts and instruments. Their visuals were insane. But this song was not my favorite song from them. Anyway, I feel so happy about their comeback.
This feels like a discussion. I like your reaction videos Linton. I discovered your channel because your reacted to Blackpink before this, subscribed, liked, notifications on for Blackpink. Personally, I try to find all the reactors' channels to support Blackpink and the reactors. Some of the reactors' channel are song writers, video editors, vocal coaches, producers, dancers, classical musicians, hip hop experts, rappers, etc. that are experts in their own fields. They give their take on each BP song/MV/performances/ and each has their own personal taste in music and songs they listen to. I like as it gives me a different perspective as my own is very limited to my own experience and expertise which is not music or related to kpop or pop songs or any genre in music. Sorry Linton but there are reactors that are @$sholels that just boils my blood. I don't bash them, I just move on without coming back to their channels. You state why you don't feel it which is why I respect you but those @$sholes do not. That type I cannot respect as there is no basis, it's just noise, and pure hate. They use their channel to vent their angst about whatever it is in their life, maybe.. They want respect but cannot give respect. And the hypocrisy of using "my honest opinion" that just cheapens the word honesty. I would to like know why your opinion is such and that's why I am watching your video. I know Blackpink and their music is not for everyone. But it is for me. I love Pink Venom as they gave us Blinks what we are asking for: a new song, different from their previous songs, Jenlisa rap, Chaesoo vocals, bad@ss but playful lyrics, the double entendre, the flow, the cadence, 2 members playing a musical instrument, harder choreography, incorporate traditional Korean musical culture and to let us know their influences. I like how each section from each member/both members goes into the other as the song unflods. Pop music, hip hop, rap did not start in South Korea or any country in Asia for that matter but we all grew up with these music as they did and I love the ode given through this song, it's nostalgic and fun to remember how great were these songs. And maybe that's why it sounded "all over the place" to some because the influences were literally all over 😂 who else but Blackpink that would put it out there? Is anyone brave enough to take this risk? Combining traditional music, rap, hip hop, pop, r&b, rock music all in one? They can take all the risk in their music, make something different, something that can change music to the direction of evolution if they feel like it and we will support. 😁🖤💗 I am excited for the 2nd album and hear how they are going to open my ears to music 😂
Well, same opinion. As a blink and a huge fan myself, I just can't help but love everything they put out but I agree, Jennie and Lisa stood out in this song especially Jennie I think. She finally got the rap verses she deserves. This is definitely a song that was out of BLACKPINK's comfort zone though the same structure but they still make an effort to make it different which I think those haters are always complaining about. And what they also forgot is that this is only a pre-release single, we are not even on the main title track yet. WAIT FOR IT you hatersssss!!!
This is the most honest reaction i saw about "Pink Venom". I also thought the instrumental kinda was too much for their voice on the first part of the song of Jisoo and Rose. But overall a good song. This was definitly Jennie and Lisa song. They were perfect and Jennie cadence was so on point and adictive. Can't wait for more of these girls🥰
Totally agree with all your points, especially about Rose and Jisoo rapping instead of singing and the way the instrumentals kind of smothered their voices. I get that they wanted to create an energetic build up, but it doesn't quite pop off the way it could. Even if they'd just brought the instrumentals down in volume, making them less overbearing, it would've made a huge difference. Even so, I still really enjoyed the song.
You are entirely on point with your analysis I feel the same way. They should have stayed with Jennie and Lisa's flow from the first 2 verses and this song would be much better. Too much contrast and the momentum drops in Rose's and Jisoo's parts they should have just rapped a little they can anyway. If only they could stop the trend to transitioning their songs too much like what they did with Boombayah and Playing with fire
The people hating it actually like it. They are conflicted because they think they're loyal to their group but when they start liking the song they try to find every small thing they might not like and make it seem like they hate the song to fool themselves. Because kpop fandoms are cultists, they make up stories to brainwash each other. It's actually tragic. They literally sacrifice themselves to do whatever the fandom is demanding. Whether it's streaming without sleep for days or lending money to mass-buy albums to manipulate the charts, they do it because they think they owe their favs and those hungry entertainment companies like it. In Korea, those votes are literally scamming money from desperate fandoms competing with each other. China banning stan culture suddenly sounds way reasonable.
Do you know this guys introduction song name ?
I’m glad you enjoyed it 👊🏾

FUNFACT bout the song:
- Jennie straight up started the song with notorious big lyrics references "kickin the door waving the 44"
- lisa's "one by one then two by two" references to rihanna's "pon de replay" song

All this refferences seems relevant with this month 49th hip hop culture annvrsary
Ps: I think they also refferencing to their upcoming world tour, Blackpink will held their world tour likely not on an arena, but straight to ya muthaphukkin dome

Taste that venom!!
Exactly, this is what I noticed too it's so clever
Also lisa's line "couldnt get a dolla outta me" 50 cent's P.i.m.p song ❤️🔥

Hope you like it
ooh.. I noticed the Biggie and Rihanna references and Jennie's Manchester United shirt but nothing else, so thanx for the info 🤗
İt's basically recycled song lol but it's still dope
Not surprised with all these references cuz YG producers r almost Koreans/Americans like Teddy and many others
YG got that westren style since day 1
Another interesting factor: different reactors focus on different elements (visuals, lyrics, fashion, beat, rapping, singing, editing, choreo, etc) so depending on what facet you focus on you’re going to have a different experience with the song. It’s never as simple as “Song Good” or “Song Bad” lol
100% agree
Yes Jennie was insanely amazing in this comeback
She’s really the ace
dude i seriously dont get what "bad" they hear out of this song XD sure tastes are different... but this all feels perfectly blackpink balanced to me. even the singing parts and the instrumentals fits PERFECTLY to them especially rosé and her rocker vibe here. they didnt really wanna go "soft" on her. even read the lyrics. they sound violent lol.
She is basically saying "i take your soul" while holding a heart. this all matches perfectly in my opinion. there is absolutely nothing bad in this song. especially from a production standpoint.
Just because somebody doesnt like a song doesnt make the song bad.
Yeah I think it's the kpopers. i personally like it more because it does not sound like Kpop at all
@@Ivan-th7iu among the blinks this song is probably the most beloved so far. i have never seen blinks as united as with this comeback. this shows in how hard we stream on basically every platform. we even broke the spotify global charts record for the kpop song with the longest #1 there.
we got first time #1 in itunes in the US AND the UK. even in korea its so close to hitting a RAK(Realtime all kill) on the charts there.
#1 Bugs (=)
#1 Genie (=)
#1 FLO (=)
#2 MelOn (=)
this song is a smash hit right now. i seriously dont know where the negativity comes from. surely not from blinks themselves(of course there will always be somebody among the fans who didnt like a song but the majority of the blinks seem to be very happy).
I KNOW RIGHT?? I don’t understand the hate 😢
@@fireruby1882 they hate it because they love it. They’re so indenial that this song is new and a bop
JENNIE'S CADENCE, TONE AND FLOW IS OFF THE CHARTS
Don’t give them the attention they crave.
and that’s why Jennie is a main rapper 🥵😍
If the beat keeps going harder after Jennie's 1st verse, It will become K-Rap instead of K-Pop. I love the anti-drop in the hook. Its nasty, their voices spicy, the choreo sexy.
If they continue the flow of Jennie's part, it will only Jennie's part only not a whole group. I noticed that every members part has their own touch.
Kudos to my wife Jennie!!! She SLAYS!!!!
Ha! She mine.
Ayoo...
Oh my god fall in line please 🤗

Yes.i like your constructive feedback .this is how should be this way..
Yes your right 💯%
Love how real you keep things. Definitely agree with a lot of your sentiments
Jennie owns this she ate
Intro,rap part,chorus,outro done by her
Bro, thanks for giving your honest and insightful review on the track, and still being respectful to the artist and their craft.
Peace
personally disliking BLACKPINK's music? fine, understandable
having a different opinion/perspective/perception/constructive criticism/POV over any product from BLACKPINK nor YGE? again, totally understandable...
but when yall just straight up hating/trolling/twisting/brainswashing nor even forcing your personal thought-process toward somebody else then sorry not sorry i have to say yall need to get a better things to do, get some proper therapy or just live your life to the fullest...
like seriously tho, these whole backlash against anything that related to BP or YGE or just the constant appearance of random "sudden musical expert" who shamelessly bashing BLACKPINK's music is just extremely becoming more ridiculous at this point,
i mean lets be real, yall get paid for doin that? yall happy? or is that the purpose of your life until you die? i'm genuinely asking these questions for f sake...
Honestly i'm glad that many people like Linton still exist to this day but these toxic minorities that oftenly remarking themselves with so-called "i know what's good nor perfect music should be sounded like" mindset is just undeniably cringe AF smh...
@Fly High well said 👌

BLACKPINK will be performing their new single “Pink Venom” at the VMA’s. 🖤💖
I agree with you. Thank you so much for the honest reaction as always 👍
Jennie kim is insane
And don't get me started on that Water choreo at the end!
if you are listening to blackpink make sure to hear it 5 times, cuz the songs grows on you and then you realize oh this song hits hard.
Rosé and Jisoo's parts really grew on me with each listen as well 👍👍
Jennie already said it : THE JENNIE YOU HAVE SEEN YET HAVE BEEN PRACTISING
I think its interesting (just like how you pointed out) the song is instrumental based. But except for the intro we never hear just the instrumental- theres always someone singing/rapping.
Personally I'm not really into the chorus. The first time I heard it it threw me off a bit. Not only was the prechorus anticlimactic but so was the chorus, at least to me. And usually I like that type of choruses.
I think that maybe if they added some kick to the "Taste that pink venom" part, or added something to the second chorus it would've been better for me.
A good example of a song like that is ATEEZ's "HALA HALA"
the song grew on me tho and I am curious about the live performance and dance practice :)
Meanwhile those authentic hiphop, rock and roll and LGBT fans listen in and tune in to the Girl Group that intends to break records held by alot of people and leave the low standard behind.
you totally hear the instrumentals - especially the chorus - listened to it with surround in the car and it was so good

Sorry this was long lol

I'm just stating the obvious.
i agree on what you said in the start of the video
congrats on the job!
thank you 😁
both girls are craaazy good in rapping but in here you can see why jennie able to bag that main rapper role. She has that extra edge than lisa.
Nah
Fact💯

Because the inside of the black apple is red .. means whatever inside that apple has gotten into her.
I agree; It took me a few times to like it. I am partial to rap, so I also feel it is a rap song. Thanks for you opinion
I loved it, this was everything I wanted
This man is true he just said what all felt about the song
For ordinary Fan's and blinks like me😊 I'm proud to my four queen's 👑👑👑👑 finally they have a new songs 😊 and I love it ❤️period ......
I watch the pink venomsong right now and it was awesome
The song feels like 3 different songs put together and just when I was like ok maybe I was wrong the drop happened and it lost me again. The chorus is stuck in my head wish it was attached to a different song with better lyrics.
I appreciate your honest and thoughtful reaction even tho I have a different opinion about the vocals in the song. But at the end of day it's also a matter of taste and I respect that. Plus.. having different opinions it is OKAY 😅
I follow reactors bc I wanna get their actual reactions and thoughts.

Imagine a blackpink video with Rose and Jisoo rappping while Jennie and Lisa on vocals.. That will be such a twist
Totally agree with you 👍...
EXACTLY! they should just let rose and jisoo do kind of rap or smth since vocals really dont sit right here
Totally agree with all your points, especially about Rose and Jisoo rapping instead of singing and the way the instrumentals kind of smothered their voices. I get that they wanted to create an energetic build up, but it doesn't quite pop off the way it could. Even if they'd just brought the instrumentals down in volume, making them less overbearing, it would've made a huge difference. Even so, I still really enjoyed the song.
lyrics wise,it really was dark! like some body piling up isht or sum’n.
but imma dig this song, it’s different and basically a track you can twerk to (the chorus part) hihi
I love lisaaaa❤️❤️❤️
You are entirely on point with your analysis I feel the same way. They should have stayed with Jennie and Lisa's flow from the first 2 verses and this song would be much better. Too much contrast and the momentum drops in Rose's and Jisoo's parts they should have just rapped a little they can anyway. If only they could stop the trend to transitioning their songs too much like what they did with Boombayah and Playing with fire
Jayz was the one that rapped Jennie part
