Quick question Mike, why didn"t you replace the tensioner ? since you did all the front seals , a new tensioner with the bearing would have been good to do @165K for a little added reliability and they are not expensive . the belt noise you referred to would be comming almost always from a failing tensioner bearing am I right ? 😐
This job was done on a budget. If it needed a clutch, then he wouldn't have done the timing belt. The tensioner and idler pulley bearings were good. So we just let them alone.
