    really good workflow! after having to endure loads of Blender users making cool stuff non-destructively using booleans and bevelling them it's great to see similar with Cinema. Thanks man 🙏🏻

    • @polygonpen
      @polygonpen  3 года назад +3

      Thank you, Cinema 4D had really good workflow for booleans for along time but with the new bevel deformer, it got a lot better.

      @@polygonpen one thing I have to ask - is there a general rule for fixing the issues with surfaces deforming? i check phong edge break so my flat surfaces become one, but i have issues with corners. Is there a hard and fast rule or is it simply a question of making cuts and seeing which ones fix the issue?

    • @polygonpen
      @polygonpen  3 года назад +2

      If you select the non destructive way, you will eventually get these kind of problems, but if you go with the traditional way like booleing and making only one object and beveling ( not deformer), you can fix the issue with inner extrude, inner extrude every polygon island or polygon island divided by phong angle, also it is good to have those polygon islands are melted ( no edges, like n-gon), this will solve most of the problems but in the end you may end up making cuts, it is never guaranteed. It is a litlle hard to explain like that but in the next videos, I willl try to model just like that.

    Short question here! I just wonder if it's possible to export such a "NURBS" object the way, so it could be CNC milled by a CNC machine as a aluminum product for example? What do you think 🤔

    Thank you very much. I have an issue. When I add a group at 7:20 instead of a normal bevel I get a open edges. In other words I can see only the sides and there are no bevel at all, I can see the inner part of the object.

    • @polygonpen
      @polygonpen  3 года назад +1

      It is probably because of N Gons, check your mesh, look for empty points, and don't forget to optimize, select all points, right click and select optimize, this is gonna merge duplicate points.
