I appreciate your authentic reactions and the way you share your personal stories. These songs are deeply personal for many, but they don’t resonate the same way for everyone. The song has two parts, and I personally connect much more with the first part than with the second. I find those lyrics very relatble: 'Have you ever felt pain? Stomach-wrenching, unrelenting, tell me Have you ever felt pain? Condescending, muscles clenching, tell me Have you ever felt pain?' And for the second part, it makes perfect sense to me that when you're often confined to your bed and to the thoughts in your head, you'd naturally start to shift from introspection to contemplating the human condition and the broader state of the world. But I renember that the song was not one of my personal favorites after hearing it for the first time, but it became one after listening to it a few times.
We got one for our first few Ren videos and then RUclips decided it couldn't do that for us anymore 🤣🤣🤣 so we appreciate all of you who are here and who watch us!
Not every song will hit every person and I would rather a genuine reaction than people just saying they like something to pander to fans of the artist. I appreciate you guys. Keeping REN in my thoughts and sending him love and light ❤
Ahaha - there are 2 or three tracks it took me several listens to get hooked on as a 'listening experience'. This one I struggled with a bit the first time I heard it musically. Many plays on, it made total sense and became my favourite track of the album - which I never expected. I guess this track sets the tone for the rest of the album too (being Track 1). The more I thought about the lyrics and the less I was surprised by the frequent flow and beat switches the more I liked it. Beat/delivery style switches up as the album plays through track-to-track, just as the beat and style switches up all through this first track. Which kind of makes sense. I also heard the lyrics with less of a sense of hyperbole after watching Life Story Chapters 1-8 on RenMakesStuff, that's when I really realized physical and mental pain were likely equally insidious throughout the 8 years leading up to his eventual diagnosis and stem cell treatment, with no apparent end in sight and a choice to numb out life alongside pain or carry the pain in order to cling on to life. The temptation through those years to feel you're being punished, especially with psychosis likely triggered by a risky/inappropriate fecal transplant in the mix must have been real, especially at a young age. Current ongoing problems may also be partly traceable to/triggered by that. The track to me somewhat reflects the chaotic mental state he descended into trying to make sense of it all - and sets the scene for what follows on the album.
Hey man this reaction brought out some stories. Thankyou for telling them and i hope you feel the power from sharing them with us . The magic of Ren.... 🔥 ✌🏻
Also I’m hopelessly biased because before we ever heard this song, Ren used the text from the 7 sins section in his money game riddle videos that served as promo for Money Game 3. Two days of riddles for each sin. Brain teasers and treasure hunts. Those two weeks of riddles were one of the best things I’ve ever participated in on the internet. So every time I hear this song I think back fondly to that incredible time period.
This is my favorite Ren song. I appreciate the honest reactions and I'm thankful many people can't exactly relate to crawling on the floor because you desperately need something and are completely incapable of walking but are desperate to do one thing for yourself. I once had an ER doctor scrunch up his face and ask "what's nerve pain?"🤦♀️ You're all fun to watch so, thank you for the laughter!
@@CyberSkullMediaIt's a nice channel. No fighting over inconsequential ideas or opinions. Having laughter & being fun just to have fun. It's a no-brainer 💜
Because this song doesn’t have a lot of repetition, it took me longer to remember it and get into it. But for that same reason, it’s not boring and I like it more each time I hear it.
God forbid that a song should have more than one theme, or address more than one topic, lol. Ren frequently has layer upon layer, yet they'r nearly always related to each other in some manner. It's one of the many things that makes him great. A wonderful wordsmith and a pure poet! :)
Thanks for sharing your pain stories lads, as a victim of chronic pain for over 10 years this song hits hard for me everytime. I spend most days highly medicated. Dillon i would like you to listen to the song a couple more times and let us know your oppinion after. Great job as always fellas, thanks....
Several of live life medicated in various ways, but at least we are still kicking! Dillon said he would keep listening even though he only has one working ear at the moment lol
another great reaction boys! i love how ren is getting the recognition he deserves today, love seeing him others they way he did to me❤ side note, i feel like guys would appreciate the rawness from this man but stephen wilson jr acoustic cover of ben e. kings stand by me…. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥you will not be disappointed
This one is one of my faves (top 10 at least) and I sometimes find myself liking or being meh on other tracks that others seem to really love. Always mad respect guys! 💜
Thundarius, this song hits HARD! I don’t feel like I tell you enough, I appreciate you EVERY DAY. I know you’re only a text or phone call away. You’ve helped me through so much in the last year. With the pain of both of my back and shoulder surgeries and the deep depression I now deal with. I love you my bestie!
Appreciate & respect you all fella’s. Thank you for sharing your own journeys. Great reactions are honest ones 👏👏👏👏❤️ This one took its time to marinate within me, as it deserves to do - it’s heavy, lyrically brilliant and another deep connection to understanding Ren’s journey. Big loves ❤
This one strikes me as an incredible piece of art. REN’s production skills here are through the roof. I think he’s getting very good at the layers. I also loved the lyric video. He was unsure whether to make a full video of this, but I am glad he left it so we can read, and appreciate the words.
Haha, those clips after the MID!! ( I appreciate the honesty) Thanks for Crucify Your Culture coming up ! I respect all your views. In my opinion, Seven Sins is 10 x better than Children of the Moon, but hey, each to their own 😂
So sad I missed the live chat. This is one of my favourite tracks musically and lyrically, it's just hits and makes you think. The way he can write and reach out to so many of us that can relate is incredible! Also no hate for Dillon, I completely understand that there are some tracks that hit some more than others. I'm the same with some Ren or Big push tracks that I don't "hate" but I do tend to skip if they pop up on my playlist sometimes. Really enjoy your reviews (including non Ren, I have checked out new artists as a result)... And the edits and skits in between.. they make me laugh! Also much love to you guys for your friendships and for being there for each other in difficult times. Xx❤
Thanks for the reaction with the honest sharing. Appreciate your empathy you do a very thorough job! Love you all, looking forward to more clips and music😂❤
Great reaction guys, and respect for Dillon for having his honest opinion. It's one of my favourite Ren tunes, but everyone is able to have their own preferences and what they like and don't. Don't worry if there's any hate thrown your way, peeps may get butt hurt, but it's all fine. Cheers boys! 🍻🤘
You guy's a great, all real, all original, no bullshit. This is the Magnum Opus of Ren's health journey. Dillon might want to play it through without interruption, but it's cool and Ren would tell you he get's it. He covers so many styles. As a RENagade from the beginning I give you all props.
I can relate specifically to Ren up to the muscles clenching part. I was on oxy when I had my knee reconstruction but it made me sleepwalk (in a full leg brace) and hallucinate so I stopped it. After my car accident I take a non addictive but still body wrecking drug to deal with pain from my permanent neck injury. Just like Ren I too live in permanent fight / flight mode but I don't have it long term as bad as him. So hearing this makes me somehow feel better about my own situation. I like how you break down the lyrics of songs, it helps me understand them more fully. I did find it amusing that you said you rarely f*ck it up and then f*cked it up in a few ways on this one =D. Seriously though it's one of the reasons I watch you guys. I appreciate the time and effort you put into your reactions.
Thank you so much!!! Anything we can do to relate to people or give them a laugh we want to do! Everyone has their own stuff they have to deal with, its nice when you can relate to what someone is going through!
So many of these lyrics speak to my soul. Thinking of getting a tattoo with the line "Pain the author, I accept this". Ren has helped me accept my chronic pain
I have suffered from several conditions for nearly 12years now including fibromyalgia! I found Ren at my lowest point, mentally and physically, about 3years ago. I am in a much better place today and coping much better now! I even managed to go see Sam Tompkins live in Birmingham last night. I couldn't stand unaided 2years ago! I only recently put my finger on the "turning point" and it was "THIS" Ren helped me accept my chronic illnesses and the chronic pain that comes with that. I can't ever escape but acceptance has allowed me the strength to fight to live not just exist! I know my illnesses won't disappear and will catch up with me in a bad way again (at some point) but I accept that too. So when I can I live as much as I can and when I cant, I plan for when I cam! Thank you Ren
Love that you are acquainted with The Mighty Boosh. Didn’t know that made it across the pond. Dare you to play the mangina clip in the next Ren reaction 😏 love you Dillon but please fix your ears 😂
Thundy is a big Boosh fan and always tries to work a clip into every single Ren video! He's also a big Monty Python fan along with Fawlty Towers. We have put some Greg clips in before, but if it ever makes sense to do that we just might! Also, Dillon may actually have to have surgery on his inner ear soon, that part isn't a joke!
Good for you Dillon! I’ve always appreciated this channel, and all of the guys on it, for your individuality and candor. Don’t worry about Renegades hating. Diverse tastes in music is what makes the world a beautiful place. You are right about this track. You can’t just listen to it once and fully appreciate and understand it. It took me several listens with headphones before I even understood what was happening. My brain is not linear at all and it was still going, “wtf just happened?”… cue the rewind, repeat. 😉 This one is subtly complex. The Welsh lines at the start with multi layers of Ren singing are what initially caught me. I would restart the song over and over to just let myself soak in it. It’s just so different. I hate commercial music, and don’t subscribe to any streaming services. I like making my own path and finding unique music. The crazy beat and snare at the start of Seven Sins, and the mix of strings eventually got me utterly hooked. It’s just so damn cool. It doesn’t hurt that it resonates with my own story. Like other folks have mentioned already in the comments maybe it connects differently when you’ve lived in a similar trap too. I’ve been through some lifelong trauma and invisible debilitating health issues. Like Thundy and Shades were saying on the breakdown, they know the crazy ways meds and pain can twist your mind. Life is full of ups and downs. This track is special as a starting point for the Sick Boi album. I did find it interesting that Ren went from painting a picture of his illness to psychosis,to religious iconography that was part of his psychosis and the seven sins. I can relate to those ideas. As a child I decided that there was no “god” - if there was one, why would that being have dropped me into the hellscape I was in, nor would one ever come save me from that hell. I figured that out by four years old. When Ren pivoted at the end of the track to human nature and the seven sins it made perfect sense. I am absolutely allergic to religion due to my upbringing. I still related completely of his commentary on social issues and then turning the mirror onto himself (which Ren is also always quick to do) “One Sin for every one day of the week / one sin for everyone day of the week.” Maybe I love this one because I’m not into hip hop and the creativity of this mix of styles really speaks to my soul. I love Ren’s old stuff. Hold On is on my daily repeat playlist. I’m not crazy for Love Music 4. There are many artists that I’ve loved over the years who have done songs that just didn’t vibe for me. I’m super proud of you for keeping it true and speaking honesty and openly. I can’t wait to see what comes from these upcoming new songs that Ren will be dropping. I wish his health was better so he could enjoy the process more this time around. He’s been through enough trials for several lifetimes. Those struggles formed the old soul and musical creator that he is. This Granny wants him to be able to enjoy his successes with his mates. It will take time, but he will be back. Well done reaction to this song! ☮️🔥💛
Thank you so much! Thank you for your kind words and for sharing your story! When someone takes the time to type out as much as you did, it really hits us hard knowing we can provide a place like this for people to feel comfortable to share their story and find kindred spirits!
Sorry missed the live bro's great breakdown as always though. I been in that cronic pain shit for 2 years but defeated 2 cancers. Hope ya combat your issues too. I forgot how badass this track is.
Fun little tidbit, right after Ren name drops Eric, Jimi and Kendrick there is Blood stain, crime scene, forensic For-Ren-Sick. The man can double it up at will!. Love the reaction boys, cant wait for the Genesis dbl and Money Game. Be easy and much love!
Thank you for sharing your stories. I so recognise Thundarius pain and struggles. Also gone through that type of back surgery. I did get a problem with the pain medication though: took a long time to get free from that. I love your reactions and breakdowns; and being honest is a good thing! Much love 💚✌️
PRobably one of the best Ren videos. I broke 3 ribs and punctured a lung (sliver of bone). They shot me up with Fentanyl and I was floating on that hospital bed laughing my ass off. Even when the doctor took that scapel and cut into my chest--yes I was fully awake and lit--I did not feel a thing. I even joked with him, "Hey! is that the correct rib to cut under?" Anyway, I can understand the euphoria of pain meds but fortunately my body is very non-addictive. I feel for others who must use pain meds and the hassle to get them.
I am a died in the wool Renagade, and I appreciate Dillion's take. I do not mind him being wrong... LOL. If I were a judge I would sentence Dillon to listening to top 40 radio until he recants...
Whew! Yup, stories of pain, i felt all of them as you told your stories. Mine came at 17. We were hsbing and egg fight and I got hit in the right eye. My ryeball split completely open, exploded. Pain.
Not a chance in hell did I think this would be the song that would produce the first non fire review! I’m happy to say I was raised in a conservative household where we were taught that everyone’s opinion is to be respected, not just our own! So with that being said, your opinion is respected Dillon! I think you’ll like the song more and more after a few more listens though!😊
Really Dillon? This was Ren's 1st track on his #1 UK album Sick Boi & most people are blown away by Ren's versatility, production & poetic lyrics. It's definitely one of my favorits but I can respect your opinion, everyone is entitled to their own. If it helps, I'd be more then happy to mail you a box of Q-Tips my treat, just drop me your P.O Box brother. 🤣🤣
I cannot wait for you to do 'Love Music 1, 2, 3 and 4'. Think a precursor to 'Losing It' for the style of rap with unique tracks underneath. Number 4 is hilarious too. Oh and Dillon's mid vote cracked me up; or rather, the record skid and the looks!
People are different. This one is about as fire as it gets for me. But I agree some are a little less. The first time. Dillon, I suggest you listen to it a couple more times and it will be your favorite! Thanks for a great reaction, guys.
And I believe Dillon is being honest and nothing but respect. As long as you are being genuine I think people will be fine. There is maybe 3 reactors total that I don’t watch Ren videos because they have trashed nearly every song from Ren and it doesn’t feel honest.
Some people trash things for outrage bait, some people give everything a "fire" so they "look good" to the fanbases, we will ALWAYS give our authentic thoughts and reactions! It hurts giving Mid or Fail to artists we love but when we feel it, we gotta give it!
Interesting - some of Ren's songs don't immediately reach out and grab me by the throat. This was one of those. I had similar reactions to Illest of our Time and Losing It. But - and this is the important part - repeat plays have helped me to understand the nuance and artistry, and now I can't get enough of these songs, just like most of his other music. There isn't enough room at the top for me to list all of my favorite Ren tracks - a top 10 list wouldn't even scratch the surface. I respect the 'Mid' rating. I also suspect that the song will eventually grow on you.
We've gotten quite a few responses like this and we were quite intrigued to see how the Renegades would take it, give how other fanbases have drug us through the mud for "Mid" or "Fail" takes. Y'all did not disappoint!
I don’t get it. And Dillon isn’t the first that didn’t like this as much as the rest. But to me it’s one of the best on the album and one of my personal favorites overall.
There are certain songs or albums for me that are more “headphone masterpieces” where I completely immerse myself in the music. Maybe this one will hit different in a scenario like that. I’ll definitely be giving it another listen now that we’ve reacted to it.
This is my swcond favourite Ren song but he has songs i sont like maybe 2 ..but he one of my favourite artists and he is definitely my favourite creator
I was actually glad to hear Dillon say he was "on the fence" about this one. I get tired of fake reactions. No one likes every track. I'm a huge Renegade but I have some I like more than others, I have some that are mood dependent, and some I don't listen to. Stay Gold, Ponyboy.
We will always strive to give our authentic thoughts even if people disagree! We've gotten murdered in comments on videos for it but the Renegades are a completely different breed!
Love the cut’s guys‼️
This hits a bit harder since our buddy is back in the struggle, thanks for continuing to show him some well deserved love💫

@ Dillon good luck!
You're going to love Genesis!
Can't Wait!
As someone whose story mirrors Ren’s in regards to pain… This one is my favorite.
We can definitely relate, that's for sure! Glad you are here!
#Renagades Let's Go!!!
Sorry missed the live bro's great breakdown as always though. I been in that cronic pain shit for 2 years but defeated 2 cancers. Hope ya combat your issues too. I forgot how badass this track is.
Congrats on being a fellow conqueror!!!
We got a lot of comments in the live chat about that! Super cool!
I love this one, but Ren does so many different things that not everyone will have the same favourites.
For sure! And we have barely scratched the surface!
nice reaction lads 😉, honesty is the best reaction
Thank you!
Thank you this is my favourite off the sick boi album love you guys ❤❤❤
Thank you for being here!!!
Yesss!! 🔥 🎉
Thank you for sharing your stories. I so recognise Thundarius pain and struggles. Also gone through that type of back surgery. I did get a problem with the pain medication though: took a long time to get free from that. I love your reactions and breakdowns; and being honest is a good thing! Much love 💚✌️
Thank you so much for being here!!! People like you absolutely make our day better with your comments!
2/3 of us thought so 🤣🤣🤣
88 days until the Lions/Chiefs Super Bowl. Much love, my dudes. Cheers. 🍻
Getting closer to that THREE PEAT!
NOOOOOO! 🤣
New sub Renegade here to support your channel!
Thank you so much!!!
If you like these lyrics videos you should react to Masochist and Lost All Faith by Ren
We plan to cover EVERYTHING eventually. No matter how many years it takes!
Blood stain crime scene Forensic (For Ren's sick)
🫶 Loved the reaction!
Thank you!!!
I like the honesty 🔥❤️✌️
Thank you!
Authentic is what we strive to be!
I'm a sucker for CYC! Love that you'll cover that so soon!
SOON
I am a died in the wool Renagade, and I appreciate Dillion's take. I do not mind him being wrong... LOL. If I were a judge I would sentence Dillon to listening to top 40 radio until he recants...
Not Top 40!!!! Aaggghhhhh!
DEAL!
@@snarlsbarkley2198 NOW YOU HAVE TO
You'll love Genesis ❤
Can't wait!!!
This is one of my favorites from Ren.
Not with the Denis Leary 'Asshole' sample..😅😅😭
(Even though he's a spooge, James Corden's version with Leary is rather hilarious, too)😅
🤣🤣🤣 I couldn't help it... I thought about that exact cutaway while we were recording! - Thundy
All our tastes are different. Thank god we are all different or the world would be a boring place.
EXACTLY!
Whew! Yup, stories of pain, i felt all of them as you told your stories.
Mine came at 17. We were hsbing and egg fight and I got hit in the right eye. My ryeball split completely open, exploded.
Pain.
😲😲😲 thats wild!
I’ll definitely give it some headphones sessions to let it marinate.
Neither did Thundy or Shades but here we are.... lol
You don’t need to be conservative to respect someone else’s opinion, that’s just emotional intelligence. Respect to your parents for having that
Really Dillon? This was Ren's 1st track on his #1 UK album Sick Boi & most people are blown away by Ren's versatility, production & poetic lyrics. It's definitely one of my favorits but I can respect your opinion, everyone is entitled to their own. If it helps, I'd be more then happy to mail you a box of Q-Tips my treat, just drop me your P.O Box brother. 🤣🤣
Lol its a bit more serious than some Q-Tips but we appreciate the sentiment!!!
Some day... when we are 84 years old we will have finished covering everything Ren lol
People are different. This one is about as fire as it gets for me. But I agree some are a little less. The first time. Dillon, I suggest you listen to it a couple more times and it will be your favorite! Thanks for a great reaction, guys.
Thank you!!!!
Algo bump
HAIL STEVE
@CyberSkullMedia is that you Alan Alan Alan? 😂
Lol Dillon, no worries buddy. 😂
Rens best work..if you don't like this song you must of had a frontal lobotomy..😂😂
🤣🤣🤣 Listen... Dillon only has one working ear right now loil
@CyberSkullMedia and brain cell 🤣🤣🤣
😎💜😎💜😎🖖
I had to listen to this song a few times before i acually loved it. So listen to it couple of more times 😊
We will have to ask if Dillon has come around or not!
"Forensic" can also be read as "For Ren (is) Sick"
We had several people bringing that up in the chat!!!
It can hit different reacting to it the way we do for sure.
🔥
This is my swcond favourite Ren song but he has songs i sont like maybe 2 ..but he one of my favourite artists and he is definitely my favourite creator
We love Ren!
If you check out "what kind of woman is this" a Big Push mash up Ren does "Voodoo chile"
OOOOOOOOO
Be sure to provide some tasty recipes for us to try before your Thanksgiving show so we can enjoy them together. 🍗🍛🥧🍮
That’s an awesome idea!
Deviled Eggs. That's my list. 🤣
This is one of my favourite Ren songs - but I must admit it took a few listens to get there. Everyone is different - it’s ok if it’s not yours ❤️
I was actually glad to hear Dillon say he was "on the fence" about this one. I get tired of fake reactions. No one likes every track. I'm a huge Renegade but I have some I like more than others, I have some that are mood dependent, and some I don't listen to. Stay Gold, Ponyboy.
Appreciate you!
We will always strive to give our authentic thoughts even if people disagree! We've gotten murdered in comments on videos for it but the Renegades are a completely different breed!
