Thanks for making this video. Just picked up an old zenith lighter and the flint tube is obstructed. I kinda thought this was the route to go but now I feel confident about it.
*Thanks for posting this! 30 years ago I found a Brother-lite mini sitting In water in a junkyard car, I rebuilt it but the finish was damaged on one side, So now after all these years I'm going to nickel plate it, I'm going to polish each piece on the buffer before plating and again after plating.😖
That lighter is beautiful. I just started collecting vintage lighters and try to repair. I would totally enjoy watching your lighters in detail on a Instagram page.
Just fixed my lucky strike lighter thanks to this video. I thought this was the way to go but needed to be sure. I put the striker wheel in backwards the first time. It works now.

I just found it in grand dad't things and im desperate to repair it. The flint still works even if it's there for decades. It's actually blinding when i try to fire it up. I just don't see how to wick it, if it even has a wick? Thank you so much in advance for advice.
No but although the lighter in this video may look a little different, the principles are exactly the same: ruclips.net/video/AZ5aSUlmsuQ/видео.html ✌️
Hello I have a vintage camera table lighter and added the lighter fluid but it’s not working. I may be missing something, does it need to have some sort of cotton cord or something inside? Thanks in advance!
Abkut to pick up a lucky strike version of one of these. Has all the screws and parts but no flint or wick. I just wanted to make sure they are repairable. I can fix computer hardware and cars I think I got this
I have a mosda streamline which I've overhauled but I can't get the spring top back in it just keeps popping out it very well sprung? I mean hard to push down and get into position.
Hey I have this exact lighter bit I'm missing a few screws for it but it seems to function fine do you know where I could get a fill screw and a flint spring and a screw for the flint spring
Hello, I have a Hadson Texaco lighter similar to yours. I was able to clear the obstruction from the flint tube, and after replacing the flint my striker wheel will not turn while the spring applies pressure. Even without a flint and spring only, the wheel will not turn
@@DependableFlamethat I’m not 100% certain, I’m going to take it apart and try again. Does the clutch spring need to be on the side of the striker wheel that has the teeth on the one side?
Thank you for your helpful videos! I just got a small Colibri Monopol lighter that didn't work. I took it apart and cleaned it - including reaming out the degraded flint. Now the flint drops in perfectly, and I can screw the spring back in with no problem. But I'm not sure I put the wheel back in correctly. I'm pretty sure I positioned the metal flange correctly against the wheel, but the wheel doesn't move when I open the lighter. I have turned the wheel both directions, but still no spark. Can you help?
@@DependableFlame I tried to work on it again, and I forgot to take the flint and spring out, first - so it launched the flint wheel, and it is lost forever (I was outdoors). How do I get a replacement flint wheel? I e-mailed Colibri, but they said that the company that made my lighter no longer exists. Any help would be much appreciated.
Hi I have a Prince BJ-211 that someone asked me to fix. The pull back spring has come off but I can not see how to put it back with out opening it up. Do you know this lighter? Thanks

Hi, i have an old STIHL branded flat lighter and for some reason the top where you push down is stuck about half way, I’ve taken it apart and reassembled it a few times and still it stuck and i have no clue why
@@DependableFlame sorry I don't know how to send a photo but it is exactly the same lighter the spring for the striker wheel and the small screw that holds it in just let me know how much I'm just starting to work on these
I have a continental lighter pretty similar to this one. For some reason the mechanism/button will only work when I take this spring out. Any idea what causes that?
I can't undo what's been done, I can only hope to do better in the future! It's a two yr old video, I've learned a thing or two since then but I'm still prone to mistakes.✌️

Got it. Works like a charm. Actually a pretty functional lighter.
They spark very well. The mechanism's leverage at the point of friction is exceptional.✌️
