Look up a kindling cracker. I built my own. I took two pieces of 1 inch solid metal rods (sucker rod) and cut them about 16 inches long and welded an old lawnmower blade between them. I cut the blade to 12 inches long. Then sharpened the top of the blade. Then drilled two holes in a chopping block to set it in. Then just grad a small 3 pound hammer to drive split wood through the blade. Merry Christmas!
