Watch with Mother was a cycle of children's programmes created by Freda Lingstrom and Maria Bird. Broadcast by BBC Television from 1952 until 1975, it was the first BBC television series aimed specifically at pre-school children, a development of BBC radio's equivalent Listen with Mother, which had begun two years earlier. In accordance with its intended target audience of pre-school children viewing with their mothers, Watch with Mother was initially broadcast between 3:45 pm and 4:00 pm, post-afternoon nap and before the older children came home from school. #watchwithmother #children #1950s - Кино
Always thought the flower opening at the start was pink in my mind!..lovely memories watching this prog with my mum, and sitting on her lap when Listen with Mother was on the radio...lovely memories
I remember all those.
My moms nick name for me was 'busy Lizzie' , last thing she ever wrote to me was 'Dear busy Lizzie, be a good girl for Dad , lots of love Mom xxx' before she died when i was 6, im 57 now , only in recent years i realised she named me after this character, i was always playing with the daffodils out the front 😂 i had short hair, i can see now why she called it me ❤
I use to watch bill and ben in 2001 and 1953
Amazing how TV has changed. Nice to see what TV was like before my time on earth.
Me making paper lanterns after watching this at 3am
Dose anyone remember the jolly jack tars song
To the best of my memory it whent
Three jolly sailor boys are we
And we sail a boat on the deep blue sea
I am the Captain
And I am the mate
And I'm the little cabin boy always late
