If your body is in danger it goes into automatic to get rid of the danger but nothing more. It is for self defense only. We do spar though. I sparred 256 times within 5 years. Constant refining of technique. I thank them for the student creed. It kept me out of jail. The student creed is also internalized and is even more important. We commit ourselves to mental and physical discipline. To be friends with one another and to develop strength in our group. We shall not fight to achieve selfish goals. The yellow dobok was originally intended for 7th dan and up. The change to the 50+ age group came later.
