Wonderful discussion, sir! Good to have contrarian views, backed by facts on both sides. It's important to keep track of all developments to be able to form informed opinion and take further action. Thank you very much.
My thoughts on the relative decline of US power, and growth in China's power:
    1. China's power/rise is limited by its necessity to appear the strongest among everyone. It cannot bear any loss of face, unlike India or US. It'll stay away from any situation where this facade of invincibility cannot be maintained. It's actions in South China Sea, Indo-Tibet border, elsewhere reflect this. Their grey zone tactics might distract their enemy, but they don't ensure victory or glory or even smooth sailing for China.
    2. While Houthis/Iran have held global trade to ransom, there is a limit to it. Merchant traffic in the Red Sea has definitely reduced, but not stopped. A nuisance-value power can accomplish only so much. Eg: For all the proxy war that Pakistan has unleashed on us, it hasn't stopped our rise.
    3. US is well aware of the fact that its overall power is lesser than it used to be, which is why it's seeking to get India on its side.
As Gen. Shukla pointed out, we need to wake up to this changed situation, and make faster strides while the tide is in our favour. Unfortunately, the discourse during the current elections is totally disappointing. It needs to be raised.
Nonetheless, we are improving as a nation. Especially notable are the MRO agreements with Indian shipbuilders, something unthinkable 20 years ago. This is important not merely for its strategic significance, but more for the fact that Indian engineering is coming of age. Another instance - 25 years ago we were denied cryogenic engine technology. A couple of years ago, an Indian space startup test fired a cryogenic engine!
We need to be proud of ourselves, and confident of our capabilities. I think with this awareness, we will be alright.
Thanks once again to soldiers such as yourself and Gen Shukla and others for spreading the light.

Sir considering China gdp is 15 trillion dollar and if it is growing 2 / it is 300 billion in terms of value which is more than Bharat in terms of value which is growing at 7 / and value is 262.5 billion dollars so there 2 / growth is more than our 7/ in terms of value.

China's hypersonic glide vehicle test was a new way of doing Ashvamedh Yagya. It did a circle of earth and landed in their oceans.
Indian Ashvamedh used to be social test of if every country is accepting beneficial arrangements with specific king.
This is beyond that and perfect for the new world of capitalism.

Mr. Shankar is living in the world of his own. I've been hearing about hard landing of Chinese economy since 2010 but it has never materilzed. He talks about ageing population of China but so is ageing population of Japan and low fertility rates of Russia

I am starting to doubt the narrative that China stope any tech from the west.
Because, best lf my knowledge the only way to reverse engineer a tech is to make it. I have spent more than 20 years understanding innovation.

LT GEN P R SHANKAR what if the CCP actively institutes a program to reduce the elderly population as it grows with time. This is a hard question but CCP has not shown to follow any norms of humanity in previous occasions. A combination of actively reducing the elderly population while forcing the Han Chinese to produce more kids that would become the children of the state in the future, perfect minions. Would that combination of reducing costs provide a somewhat of a lifeline to the CCP economy or do we think that this type of social engineering is beyond even the CCP's ability or moral constraints. In a way, china can become a smaller country population wise say 700-500 million without having to pay cost for an ageing economy. Your discussions and panelists are always enlightening to listen to.

    1. China has a golden opportunity to test their arms and ammunition under real war conditions and bring about the necessary improvements. Don’t think they will let go of this opportunity whatever the US pressure may be.
    2. Seems that after the US miscalculation with allowing China to grow so strong, they seem to be apprehensive about about letting India also to become too strong and hence this one step forward and two steps backwards in US-India political relationship. Fortunately the US military is quite clear that a strong India is good for USA which is not what the political leadership believes
