    The reason why most artists work without the handle is so that they have quick access to the needle to flush the tip and nozzle. I can not work without a handle. The moving of the needle and nut irritates me. I like the smoothness of the handle. At the Russian airbrush schools they teach you to work super smooth with one hand without touching the surface.

    Great idea Rob if it makes the brush work better and easier to use what's not to like👌👍

    Interesting Rob mate but I think not for me maybe if I had more than one 270 I have used brushes with the handle off for flushing purposes but to be honest feeling the chuck sliding back and fourth irritates me some what. Mind you I'll have a crack at greasing up the spring to see how I get on with that.

      Works really well when it comes to doing detail mate as the trigger movement is alot less 👌

    Thanks Rob, interesting point you make about the weight of the body as i find it a bit light, i would prefer if it was a bit heavier, in my hands it feels top heavy. i also can't get used to the needle retaining screw thingy rubbing against my finger so i keep the body on. what i would like though is some sort of chequering or texture on the main body around the trigger area as the chrome is so slippery or even better, a man size ps270 for those with oars as hands, 😅

    great video. I use the exact same method to polish the needle, I use autosol polish on a piece of kitchen towel.

    Sweet :)
    That process of grinding the back of the needle down seems like a painful extra that hopefully would be unnecessary if the other custom parts could be machined to accommodate the full needle size.
    I heavily lubed the spring of my ps270 with glycerin, and that helped a lot...probably similar result as with lithium grease.
    Thanks for sharing these tweaks

      @@blackdrop3844 big difference yes the micron is a better brush but the 270 will hold its own if your looking for a cheaper detailed brush 😉

    Another great video Dredfx ! ... my question is ... as a newbie to the airbrush - what would be the best setting for "The spring tension " to start out with ? (for example - turn all the way in and back of a couple turns ?) ...Thank U

    • @dredfxcustompaint
      @dredfxcustompaint  Год назад +1

      As a beginner I would have it at full tension so you can feel the trigger more then when you progress soften it up
