more goofy floor portals would be the biggest improvement imo. the "intentional portal surface placement" as the devs have referred to it doesn't affect my playstyle because i just sweat but improving that goofy casual appeal wouldn't hurt the comp gameplay at all
Hello, I am part of the Splitgate’s 1 MVP program (TBD for SG2 since no one been accepted to it yet). First thing, I really enjoyed this video. I do think some in the community who gotten access for the Alpha aren’t going be completely honest and consists mostly diehard fans, so these kind of videos are honestly good to make when I’ve chatted with many whom share a lot of similar opinions that you shared. These need to be voiced, and heard by the community to give feedback to the devs, and a very great change that is to be expected for next Alpha is Hotzones no longer shares progression with the enemy, which they stated they will be doing after community feedback. I haven’t made my own overview video yet myself for the game but I am planning to be critical on the things that I don’t like and needs to be improved on myself. Where things currently stand, I still much prefer SG1 over SG2, but I am hopeful it will majorly improve over time. Also one last thing to end on, 15:25 isn’t a bug with the Fubar Rockets, while you’re zooming with the Fubar, it shoots all the rounds in the mag, up to 3, doing more damage and covering wider radius. I do think your joke “Fucked Up Beyond All Recognition” is accurate still however and was funny. 😂
Most of these points are exactly what I've been thinking. I highly hope they'll take all this feedback into account and rapidly change the game for the better. If it ain't broke, don't try to reinvent the wheel, and that's what they should go with for Splitgate 2 when looking at Splitgate 1
Great video. Completely agree with the lack of social features, but even then as a grinder of ranked in sg1, I worry for the ranked side in this game. The loadout system is awful to me. Imo it ruins the appeal of even starts that sg1 had and limits the weapon pickups on maps and makes maps feel empty. The ttk of weapons you can spawn with is also way too fast. The portals also feel weird this time with a lack of portal walls and I’m not a fan of the way portals are closed now. I hate that you can just close teammates portals (ik there’s a short timer where they can’t) and I honestly much prefer the emp grenades, but I’ll probably get used to it. The abilities aren’t as bad as I thought they would be and I do believe they said hotzone would be reverted back to traditional KOTH. Also the rocket shooting 3 shoots is a feature that happens when ur ADSing and not a bug. Overall I hope this game does well and they add back the social features and can somehow make ranked have a good skill gap since ranked in sg1 was the most fun I’ve had grinding a FPS game in years. Edit: The new melee also feels like a complete downgrade (45 damage and I don’t think it has that unique feature of doing more damage the faster you travel), and the colour scheme also just feels lame to me. I get a major complaint of sg1 was a lack of art style but I don’t really like this current art style, but that’s just my opinion.
seems like the competitive player side overall had a good time during the alpha. Me and other casuals were completely overwhelmed because everything just felt hypercompetitive
@@ChryptoCrystal probably cuz there was like no sbmm in the alpha so the much better players had a good time against newer / casuals. My main fear is how the ranked modes will play and if it’ll be interesting to watch
Im a splitgate soldier for life but I appreciate how people like you will vocalize your complaints, I think this is definitely the time do be harsh on criticism. Also for a few things. One, they have confirmed that shared progress for hotzone will be removed, and each team will have their own progress. Two, they are aware of how boring the maps are and how limited portals feel and they said they are seriously working on that. And Three, they have been very receptive to feedback, at least in the discord server. I do think the alpha has a lot of issues, and I think there’s a lot of work to do, but their behavior regarding feedback does give me a lot of hope. Great video I agree with a lot of points, even if I did have a lot of fun in the alpha.
Like the splitgate discord was VERY harsh on the game imo, and the devs told them to keep it coming so I do think they have a good head on their shoulders
great video. most of your point are valid complaints shared by the majority of the community. some of them have been addressed, such as king of the hill sucking so much ass. its also important to understand that the purpose of this alpha wasnt at all for marketing or hype. they didnt announce it at all. they said that the purpose is for them to implement the controversial changes they were unsure of, and see how the community responds. i think a lot of the issues that you mentioned, such as a lack of social features or party modes is simply down to the fact that its very early in development, and they havent been added yet. they wanted to smooth out the core gameplay first, and see how players react. also viewership died because people were only watching for twitch drops
Good video and you brought up some very good points. But pls, next time mute your mics audio from the background gameplay. Hearing you talk twice over yourself makes it damn near impossible to follow the video at certain points.
Haven't watched the full video yet but from gameplay ive seen online they've nearly removed all the portal walls so all the gameplay is boring Can't think of anything to add besides the audio editing being bad its really distracting hearing you talking about the game then also hearing you in the game talking

This is amazing news and I really hope they start to make more drastic changes before launch to make the game as good as it can be
Not a hero shooter
