Joost klein is groot! He dedicated this song to his father who died when he was 12 years old. His dad taught him that the world has no true boundaries. His mother died when he was 13. He is a huge inspiration to young folks. He is such a legend the world needs more people like Joost. He has gone through so many challenges in life, it is a true inspiration to see how he deals with it. Joost klein, droom groot.❤
This song has many layers. The song title is a contraction of Europe + Papa (= father in Dutch). Further references to these 2 subjects: 1. He was an orphan at a young age. His father taught him that this world is his oyster, without borders. So he travels to many countries to escape the pain of the loss of his parents, but that doesn't work. No escargots, fish 'n chips, paella can make him forget. 2. He used to watch ESC with his parents. And he said that one day he would be on that stage performing. His father encouraged him to live life without limits and to go for it. The small boy with the note pad references to his father encouraging him to write poetry (his father was a writer) and now Joost writes songs and he has made it to the ESC ("you see, dad, I listened to you"). With the burning (of the house, picture, building/mill (his past, growing up in Friesland)) at the end of the video, everything comes full circle. He has made his parents proud and he can accept their passing, his past and move on. Hope this helps.
Super proud of our entry! It's by Joost (pronounced as Yoast, as in toast) Klein (ei is pronounced as I). This song has Dutch culture in it. It's typically Dutch. But it also has the 90's sound everybody in the world loves. The gabber sound. 😅 Lovely reaction btw!
It's pronounced Joost like 'coast' and 'toast'. And Klein like 'wine' and 'fine' I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. It is so layered and deep. No happiness without sadness
I enjoyed this reaction. Joost is a stage animal so trust me he can do this and then some. I went from dancing to crying with song , he is a true artist . Of you are a real live stage performance kinda girl ( i think you are) you should check out Nightwish, ghost love score wacken 2013 or any live performance with Nightwish with Floor Jansen, the band is from Finland and Floor Jansen is also from the Netherlands. I hope to see you reviewing them. Greetings from the Netherlands
Hi! A Dutchie here: I’m very proud for the selection and for Joost Klein who is representing us. His personal background story is touching and the song about living in Europe and being able to cross borders without passport or visa is a strong message (also what his dad said to him: this is a world without borders). The NL is also famous for our “gabber” music/culture from the 90’s: very fast and hard techno music (hardcore). In the end of the song, before the sentimental part, they show the hardcore culture. That’s a part of the Dutch culture 🇳🇱
You suit happy hardcore. All you gotta do when listening to it is go completely mental, and let it all out. When the music is done, we can all back to being boring and face our 'problems'. But during the music.......... LETSGOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Thank you for your pure reaction. The fire on the end is the symbol for a new start, letting go of the grieve fit his parents who died when he was 12/13 years old. You mentioned dancing: Joost wished for a moshpit in Malmö 😉
NEDERLANDS BIG UP 12 POINTS!! GABBER CULTURE ALL OVER THE WORLD!! IT S THE TIME TO BREAK THE RULES!! A GREAT MUSIC WICH HAVE FIGHT AGAINST PREJUDICE FOR 30 YEARS NOW! THE TIME HAS COME TO SHOW ALL OVER THE WORLD THAT ,IT S A MUSIC ABOUT FRIENDSCHIP , LOVE ,DANCE & PEACE!!! HARDCORE WILL NEVER DIE!!!❤ Thanks for your reaction en positive vibe❤❤❤❤
I am definitely proud of Joost, normally Eurovision songfestival, as the songs often are over the top, or the production is to forced to be perfect. He is playing a music genre what is mostly typical Dutch; "happy hardcore" it was invented in de 90's think DJ Paul Elstack is one of the first (they guy in the car at the climax) still it feels that Joost did something special with this song.
This is a masterpiece!!! This is the winner of Eurovision Songcontest 2024, for me. No doubt. Research: Europapa = Eurodad. 12 points for The Netherlands. An ode to his father who passed away when he was 12 years and his mother who passed away when he was 13 years. His father told him that there are no borders / boundaries, no limits. Go, travel and discover Europe and the world. He promised his father that one day he will be singing at the Eurovision. They used to watch it together when he was a child. Now he made it, because he will be on stage this year. Everywhere he travelled he carried the pain and grief with him. The fire simbolise letting go of the pain of no having his parents and the start of a new chapter in his life.
His name is pronounced like: yo + st=yo st= joost. And say line but the k infront of it: k+line= kline= klein. Hope this helps you out with saying his name
Now I've found a new Eurovision reactor to follow ❤ I love the way you dance to the music 🤩
Thank you so much friend 💗💗
Welcome to our 90's. 🎉
