- Buz Buzbee's definitive version of O'Carolan's Welcome. What I call my "Ethereal Version". Performed thru a Fender PA with a touch of reverb.
This is as perfect a recording as I'm gonna get. I'm SO SORRY about the audio corruption at the end. It's a problem with my Pixel 3 phone and it's annoying the hell out of me.
Anyway, after about an hour and half and TWENTY TAKES and a couple tankards of ale along with the positive memories of a recent weekend, the vibes aligned just right to produce this piece. I hope yall enjoy it as much as I did making it.
Hello Buzz, guess what my name is. My brother Harvey (Buzbee) and I will soon be completing a two year long harp making project. I would love to send you some pictures and hear any input you may have.Wonderful playing by the way. Given the low numbers of Buzbees, it seems inevitable that we are related in some degree, aside from the fact that people call me Buzz, as they did my father before me and probably his before him. Our branch was established in Ethridge Tennessee in the early 19th century.
Such a beautiful version. Truly gifted to lay by ear.💕
Thank you!
Beautiful
O'CAROLAN is alive and well in his music thanks to master string players like this. Much appreciated by a listener here in West Coast Ireland. 🙏
Thd whole tweaking the moustache bit ruined the performance
so lovely
Such an elegant and blissful tune ! Wonderfully done !
This is outstanding!
Awesome !
Just take your time there my friend :)
В кружке - пиво?) Или что-то забытое из глубины веков?
wow rendition
Your home is so cool
Bravo!
Very, very nice! Love it.
I love the decorations on the harp, may I ask what make it is? How did you come to learn to play? I love this tune!
Thanks! This is an American made Dustry Strings Ravenna 34. I taught myself to play by ear.
your gift from God.¥
@@TheOldestSoul Thank you, I had a look at their website. How did you get one with the decorative finish, it's very nice!
I took up Celtic lever harp a while ago. O'Carolan's music is lovely, have you tried playing Blind Mary? Would love to hear you play some more! Cheers and thanks from Australia 🦘
Blind Mary? I'll have a listen. The decorations are just stickers that I applied myself. I got the dragon off eBay and the roses off some website
Very nice arrangement! Yes, many takes to get it the way we want it!
Superb
Thankyou for sharing, you're a wonderful player :)
Thank you! I greatly appreciate that
Wow this is a great version, somehow I knew it would be good before you even started playing due to the celtic tones you were giving off.
beautiful playing!
Applause!
You play absolutely beautifully. You are very talented! Friend of your dad and Mary, and my hubby works for Boh. Keep being AWESOME!
Yes, I believe I've had your Baklava! It was delicious. Thank you very much!
@@TheOldestSoul yes, that's me. :)
Hey there I really like your version. I don’t suppose you have it scribed? I’d buy a copy happily.
I appreciate that! Unfortunately, I play purely by ear and memory. Sorry!
Magic
Wonderful!
Mein absolutes Lieblingslied ! Seid über 30 Jahren.
Danke!
Nicely done. Patrick Ball himself couldn't have done it better.
This is quite a compliment, because it's his version which I consider the absolute BEST. Back in the days of MySpace, he even commented on one of my harp pictures. I wish I had a screenshot of that.
@@TheOldestSoul He's great. Although my favorite harper is Robin Williamson. He's just the great bard of the world.
@@TheJunehog I'll definitely check him out. My absolute favorite is Kim Robertson. Greatest show of my life was seeing her play in New Orleans at O'Flaherty's on
St. Patrick's day!
@@TheOldestSoul I *highly* recommend Googling "Finn and the old man's house". There's a good RUclips video there. It's from the Wheel of Fortune record he made with the late John Renbourn back 1996. He tells a story over an improvised rendition of The Blackbird.

Just subscribed I love your playing and room
Thanks, man, I appreciate it
@@TheOldestSoul Would you be interested in going to my channel Ronald Delby and view some of my videos? I also play and sing folk ballads like " The Rising of the Moon.
@@rondelby2482 I'll check it out, mate
