Thank you for this video, I love dragonflies & butterflies, so it’s good to know where the best places to find them are. Keep up the good work.

Brilliant photos and footage as I would expect from you Neil, with lots of expert info on the different species. Really really good. And while watching I was just thinking how much your video production had improved, when it got to the bit when you'd left your mic off! Brilliantly handled in post with the narration though. 👍👍👍

    A really good video.
Wish I had access to a site like this where I live

Thanks, yes I wish it was close to me too! I had to stay overnight nearby with a friend, just too far away for a day trip

Wow! What a brilliant location! It's been a poor year for damselflies and dragonflies in my area. I have a few perched shots but none in flight. I normally have quite a few in flight shots at this point in the season.

Neil, you mention Scarce Blue-tailed Damselfly (hoping to see). I've just checked and the latest record in the Crockford area - in any part of the stream or in any of the nearby flushes, runnels and mires - was in 2006 in Shipton Bottom. No surprise then that you didn't see any. I'd love to understand better what habitat they prefer since some locations around Crockford seem, on the face of it, to be very similar to sites where they do occur.

Hi Steve, I mentioned them only because I've read that they occur here, though I suspect that information is out of date and just being repeated. I think I was told by someone they did sometimes occur there and they had seen them, but that was probably years ago when I first visited. Didn't realise the last record was as long ago as 2006 though!
