Correction! Shalltear doesn't have a debuff when in Sunlight. Only lower ranked vampire races have that debuff. It was mentioned in volume 3.

7:40 I remember in volume 3 of the LN it talked about how true vampires are more monstrous then lesser vampires and the reason Shalltear is so beautiful is basically her creator created her like that in the modeling and textures stage (or something along those lines).

Dio is also a vampire, and a vampire that can freeze time. honestly he might be able to beat her, even if he's physically weaker. I imagine Shalltear to be closer to the pillar men in terms of strength, way stronger than Dio but without the time freeze, so therefore vulnerable to him.

Shalltear wins 'Strongest Floor Guardian' title on a technicality, as Rubedo is not a floor guardian.
And also because Gargantua isn't a custom-made NPC and is thus not counted in the Floor Guardian rankings even though he's officially stronger than Shalltear stats and ability-wise.

Seriously though, as NPCs floor bosses in the game, Gargantua was stronger than Shalltear. This is a fact from the novels.
Yes, Gargantua is a mindless golem, but he's one hell of a powerful mindless golem. And no, while he can be given commands, he isn't "like a puppet". For one thing he can act on his own in reaction to enemies, or fight on his own as long as he's told to attack someone(and he won't need complex instructions in how to battle said enemy). Secondly, he doesn't have "string to be cut" that would make him fall "Like a puppet who’s strings have been cut". :3

For anyone whose played D&D probably know how over tuned and powerful Clerics are. It helps reinforce the idea of how Shalltear's build was so min-maxed since she uses divine magic even though she's undead.

Blood Frenzy is INDEPENDENT of her racials, it is connected to her Cursed Knight job, yeah that info is kind of hidden, had so look the her job levels to figure that out, I mean it kinda fits for vampire

I believe in the light novel it was stated somewhere that her main appearance (gothic Loli) was due to Peroroncinos ability in “character customization” since the vast majority of members were very into customization as an example being the sixth floor and how detailed it is, it was stated it wasn’t a racial thing and she should look like her berserk mode permanently but he just really good at player customization 🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️

Yeah i totally agree. She is the most powerful FG RIGHT NOW, but i hope we can see more fights with the FG's in the future. That way we can see what the others are good at.

I have a big problem with the description of the "Astral Plane" that was used here.
D&D describes the Astral Plane as a canvas for reality, the grand sea that spans the entirety of existence and within it nestles each and every realm.
It was described here as a parallel to the Material Plane of existence, a plane that exists overlapping with the material one. One that houses things like ghosts and phantoms and can even have ghosts of toppled buildings and their metaphysical remains. (this second sentence is paraphrasing, i know)
D&D describes the Ethereal Plane (more specific; the shallow Ethereal Plane) as overlapping with the physical realm, ghosts and other ghost-like undead can traverse it with ease and are untouchable from anyone on the Prime Material Plane without proper items/gear/abilities. So, when we go with the D&D parallels, that would make Shalltear's mist ability the ability to shift into the Ethereal Plane, not the Astral Plane.
Sorry for nit-picking, i love the content otherwise, just felt like addressing this point.....

Nice video, but some of your information is wrong. The reason why Shaltear looks like a young girl is because her creator used cosmetic items when creating her. The vampires who follow her around are a sub-race of vampires called Vampire Brides. And her blood lust ability is a class skill, rather than a racial skill. It belongs to the Cursed Knight class. :-)

I was under the impression that the Astral Plane was the plane of thoughts/emotions while the Ethereal was of ghosts/afterlife. Not that it really matters. Great video though! I love your Overlord vids!

There is a subclass of Clerics in D&D that is the light cleric, which basically weaponized that feeling you get when you wake up and open the window at 10AM.
Assuming there is such a Job in Yggdrasil i'd say that the higher level you are, the stronger light spells you have, up to the point where you could severely debuff high level vampires and outright smiting lower level vampires, thus beign is their exploitable weakness as a heteromorph.
It all checks out if you ask me.

I've recently read overlord volume 9 and 10. IIRC new world people thought that lesser vampire still got hurt when in daylight, but maybe shalltear is a high level vampire so (according to them) the effect are nullified

Your explanation of the Astral plane sounds a lot more like the Ethereal plane... the Astral plane is actually the plane of the mind which exists between the Prime, Inner and Outer planes. The Ethereal plane is a plane that exists parallel to the Material plane and most incorporeal beings (like ghosts) can travel to/from/through the Ethereal plane.
Yeah I was thinking that too, but I can see why it's easy to confuse them.

I wouldn't say shes dumb because Ainz beat her. Even if she hard countered Ainz doeant mean victory is guarenteed, Ainz knew all her abilities and planned for each one.
He manipulated the fight and planned accordingly to set her up to fail. Also he had cash shop items that allowed him to use gear that he normally wouldn't have access to. The fight mostly highlighted just how knowledgeable and brilliant Ainz is to overcome such an opponent.

I don't know if you missed it on purpose or there is more to it. She is a vampire, true vampire, aka a original. Increased intellect for her would be disadvantageous. She is undead after all. Sure equipment, special gifts and abilities, plus the use of all of Nazarik arsenal plus 2 cashshop items to bring her down. But if she was + intelect the downside would be that any blood, smell, see, hear etc, would dehabilitate her. She is imho a minmax dps/tank designed for 1 specific role: goth loli. So, even in "whatever" form Peroronchino would keep the act up. After all, it would be no fun if you raided Nazarik and everything is a snoorefest. Nah. Sure, she has suffered a defeat and another from Momonga, but remember, she has a act to fulfill 1st. Will love to hear what esle you have to say about her.

As far as I know about the astral plane it is a place between different worlds. Picture outer space, now the astral place by nature is kinda silver in appearance & that you can breathe in it. The astral plane lets you visit other worlds/dimensions like the feywild which rest where The Forgotten Realms"Earth" would lie but if you travel away from there you can travel to the elemental plane of fire/water/earth/air & even further to the realms of gods & chaos. The only ways to move in the astral plane efficiently is to have a mode of transportation that can "fly" through it or by using your pure intelligence. Yes, you travel through it with your mind & with the more Int you have, the faster you can move. In the D&D lore the astral plane is of great significance.

Thats what makes Ainz so good at pvp. In yggdrasil when ever he did pvp other lvl 100s he was almost always weaker than them and would routinely throw the 1st battle to gain information then on the 2nd and 3rd battle would slaughter players even stronger than himself
