A couple years back my older brother bought two LT 125's for us to work on when he was on leave from Iraq. They were bought for $25 each and both were running within two weeks. That was about ten years ago and both are still running great. I'm glad to see you working on one of these iconic quads.
Had to come on here and say thank you. Not only did this answer my question on how to get my stuck hub off. Oddly enough its on the same ATV you have here!
I quit using AllBalls, on bigger atvs with heavier tires i found they wore out quite quickly! I use SKF now, they are made in Italy!!! AllBalls are made in China.. I find SKF to be great quality and hold up a lot better..
Are the wheel hubs supposed to be welded to the axle for the rear wheels? whoever had my lt 125 before put a huge weld where the wheel hub meets the axle, pretty sure its not supposed to be welded on but instead held in with the hub nut and cotterpin right? im new to all this kind of stuff and it stumped my grandpa when i asked him aswell.
Carter Byers I have owned several atvs and had to do it most of them. The axle has splines and the hub fits into them when the splines round off and no longer drive the wheel it's time to get the welder out..or buy a used axle
+sethmcneil I love mine I haul fire wood, food and drinks when I'm out in the woods mudding its not bad looking at all I actually have the rear rack off and the front one on
Mistake bottoming out the inner bearing first, then after aligning the spacer, he bottomed out the outer bearing. You can hear the higher pitched clink sound on last hit. It offsets the bearing races and adds preload and premature bearing failure. I was about to do mine the same way, bottoming both out like a car. Here is a PDF for proper procedure, so the bearings will last.. www.allballsracing.com/media/installation/Wheel_Bearing_Install.pdf
you can leave it in there for a short time I have a fourtrax 300 which front bearings went out you will hear slight grinding and pings and wobbles in the wheel it's OK if it's not wobbling
I have a raptor 660 I tried changing mine left side went great bu right side the spacer that is behind the nut that holds hub on won't come off any suggestions got a bad wobble

+sethmcneil I love mine I haul fire wood, food and drinks when I'm out in the woods mudding its not bad looking at all I actually have the rear rack off and the front one on
I don't wheel with mine... Just tow jetskis around the paddoc with it!
Wanna sell the one you're not using? haha
What about when my quad is all good but it rolls about 5 feet then the back tires lock up
Hmm, something jamming the wheel
Did you ever figure this out?

Well no brake drum but still pound it off ok no big deal till it's distorted
Oops that was the other tire.
i know this is 6 years old
but the torque on axle castle nuts is 100 ft lbs... just sayin...
if a bearing goes bad and it isn't replaced what happens short term and long term?
it begins to wear out to the point where the wheel will come off. if I were you I'd stay away from deep water and mud that is what kills em
you can leave it in there for a short time I have a fourtrax 300 which front bearings went out you will hear slight grinding and pings and wobbles in the wheel it's OK if it's not wobbling
All Terrain Experiments thank you very much.
