    for everyone's knowledge
    depression comes when you do things you hate. living with those who aren't suitable for your ideas etc. depression is not a external disease like many people make it so. depression is a natural reaction from your own body telling you to change your life. going to therapy and telling someone else won't fix your problems, its like covering it up and ignoring reality. its becomes worse. since depression isn't made to tell others how you fell but its a warning to yourself.
    Do what you love and you will never be depressed.
    God Bless you all.

    Thank you Alex, for raising awareness on the very relevant topic of mental health, and breaking down the stigma surrounding it. Mental health is not something to be brushed aside or ignored. It is an integral part of our overall well being. Similarly, being compassionate, caring and always watching out for our friends and loved ones is important also. Not everyone knows how to vocalise their feelings.
    On a lighter note, my personal therapist/ stress buster is my very extroverted Golden Retriever🐶❤ Occasionally, he comes with me to work to cheer up some very ill patients🧡

    So important to highlight mental health - including loneliness and isolation which is such a significant issue for so many people. Thanks so much for sharing and greetings from Melbourne (AUS) - any plans to come back here for a layover? Cheers mate

    Thank you Alex for another video. Am a Christian, so if am anxious or feel low or even lonely, I always pray about it to give me the strength and I leave all my burdens and anxious thoughts with Jesus who is my best friend 😊. I then try to remind myself to be grateful for all that I am blessed with and that there are people in this world who go through far worse struggles. 🙏🏽😇 Lastly, I would then try to keep myself busy to take away any such thoughts. This works for me 😊 God Bless 🙏🏽

    This video reminded me of a movie, „Rien à foutre“, it is just about a flight attendant‘s life, it showed both perks and the dark side of the main character‘s profession/life. Hope everybody finds a way to deal with all challenges.

    People need to always remember that happiness comes from within. You have to like yourself and value the good aspects of life. Being positive, and also realistic, helps a great deal. It is important to have dreams in life and to try to do the things you wish to do.

      @@CasperN2011 Hi. Easy too see that he is a handsome man definitely 😆. So at least that kind of charm reflects that he cares for health issues in the community of service industry. Because i'm actually a chef in professions. But i got that specific ill for this 12 years, and didn't do anything, just eat & sleep & not focusing. And ofcourse not working at all. Taking medicines as well for those hard years. Many psikotherapist saids i have to eat beef and milk. Nutritious for my brain. Experience tells the most chef and services staff that our brain still needs to feed well. But i'll save this date to saviour my healths back 😁. Thanks for your commence anyway 😊.

    Hi Alex. Thank you for the motivation! I have been a cabin crew for Cathay for a period of time. There’s been a lot of cut in the company after covid including the layover time. Fatigue happens to all of us especially the layover for a European flight from Asia being less than 30 hours with a overnight shift going there. It’s exhausting!

    You make a lot of very good points in this vlog. Towards the end of my commercial aviation flying, I was a complete "slam clicker", and just couldn't be bothered to interact with crew, or anyone down route. I was so exhausted dealing with the passengers and other crew onboard, I just didn't want it any more. Similar when I got home, I just closed the front door and didn't see many people often. When I changed to private, it revitalised my enthusiasm for people and crew, but that is starting to falter now. almost 17 years flying and in general I am tired. With personal things with family, it has been a hard few years, and flying is fast losing its appeal now.

    I work as a Financial Account Manager in a Bank company and seriously speaking its a big responsibility too. You just need to get use of what is "Pressure" all about. I'm 28 years old, and everyday you get used of the word pressure. i GUESS 80% of cabin crew are about 20-25 years old and they are not used of this kind of job. Aviation industry like Emirates, Etihad or Qatar Airways should hire PEOPLE based also of their experiences, not only being " recepcionist" in a hotel. But Recruiters must see and hire candidates who have done big responsibilities and already suffered "PRESSURE" in a good way. Cause what I saw in like 90% of videos about their vlogs talking about Emirates, Qtar.. etc... they say that pressure is highj etc.. then WHY YOU EVEN DID THE ASSESTMENT DAY? i MEAN ITS A WASTE of money also for the company.. they hired them and then in 2 years youre resigning? Come on Emirates, Etihad and Qatar Airways PICK THE CORRECT CANDIDATE NOT ONLY BECAUSE THEY HAVE BEAUTIFUL FACES

    You know, it’s good that you spoke on the topic of purpose. I used to work in a place in the UK where I got to encounter people who were living off government benefits FULL-TIME, because the UK is a full on welfare state that allows this kind of lifestyle.
    The thing that struck me the most about them is how depressed most of them were. And it confounded me for a while why they felt that way when they lived in a better house, better cars, better money sitting at home doing nothing than me doing physical hard work everyday. But then it dawned on me that the government money wasn’t actually fixing their lack of purpose in life; of all people in society, they were most to be pitied as they had nothing more to boast than a house and car that didn’t belong to them. Inside they were already dead, hollow without any substance or aspiration on what they wanted in life 5-10 years from that point. Pretty much they were just waiting to die, and that realisation made me so grateful for my education, my aptitude and what I had within, because that’s how winners are ultimately made, not from the outside but from within

    • @AlexanderGeorge
      @AlexanderGeorge  Год назад +3

      That’s such a great point. Government welfare is basically cutting your wings, removing any desire to work towards something… it’s terrible especially if one is able bodied. Thanks for the comment, agree with you

    • @Marcho978
      @Marcho978 Год назад +1

      And what I believe as well; is that the welfare state in Britain and many other similar countries has been Mis-used.
      The concept of having a council (government built) house, some money was only meant as a safety net to prevent people from falling into absolute poverty and dying of hunger on the streets. You were NEVER meant to take it as a long term solution. Instead, the impetus would be for the individual to use that money and roof over their heads to make some inward gains in life, to be able to stand back up on their two feet at some point and get off the safety net, to a better place where they could be more financially secure and happier.
      Instead, people have become so comfortable in that safety net that there is now no motivation or need to make any more money than what the government gives. You now have three generations of families who live in these council houses, parents teaching kids that it’s natural to ask for a council house themselves by the time they are 18. The tragedy here is that those people have already failed in life, especially at such a young age; when they should be working hard, grinding at life to make something out of it.

    I'd like to work for Etihad, i see it as an adventure and opportunity to explore the planet, invest and going after that purpose you mentioned. But f am already having these issues without even flying how can i do the job. I don't want to bring my issues with me. Thus am unsure what to do...

    Dear Alex this full-of-speech topic needs huge recovery between the society of Flight crew and Cabin crew as well.. First you won't feel it at the very beggining then it will hit your face dramatically..so some people with experience shall share I guess to give a mature properly looked idea just like you. After that it takes some time for the crew to tiuch the fact that money doesn't necessarily bring happiness and excitement, people are so much more effective. this job is both about being interactive with your own life and on board and keep on talking with the Customers, unfortunately some people should be paid to tend to open their mouth and talk. Company hires them and you are forced to work with them. 😅

If you think people stuck behind a desk doesn't have to deal with mental health issues, then you have no idea how bad it can be. I am a frequent business traveler. When I save enough, I would quit and because a cabin crew because it's so much less stressful.
