EIRTH BETTER FIND AKA
demon king really took vengance against the hero by being a better father figure to his son
Kinda ironic how the demon king who was one of the most feared was actually a better person then the hero
Kind of makes sense if you think that he is the king who is so capable that it needed the interior humanity's might to defeat him. A true candidate to get the tital of a demon lord...
Bro really did the hero like that lol

I like this MC, he has proper character development and isn't just an asshole. Treynar was very well written as well, and I'm just glad that, his parents aren't abusive and actually begin to understand him.
dang man uk they say sometimes ur teachers and just a random stranger can understand you better than those who have been there and close with u for so long so treynar the goat
Unfortunately it’s discontinued :(
The WN goes more in depth to the father's feelings during the arena incident and it's revealed that the mc ran away only because the dad flipped out because he was worried about how his son could have learned his enemy's signature attack and said the worst possible thing at the worst possible time and basically unknowingly validated all the protagonist's insecurities and fears that his parents saw him as a disappointment and that nothing he ever did would meet their high expectations.
The maid also gets point of view chapters, and we learn she blames herself for him leaving both because she got triggered by him using the demon lord's attack and because she realizes she unintentionally trampled on his feelings for her with her teasing. Which also makes the mom feel like even more of a bitch because she feels she disregarded her son's feelings again because she set him up with her friend's kid * the princess * despite his clear love for the maid.
And the princesses' treatment of him also makes sense when it's revealed she basically saw them as already married and assumed the protagonist knew about the engagement *he didn't * and also felt the same way. * he didn't *
I love this novel because it gives depth to tired tropes in the "neglected kid hero runs away and becomes bad ass * genre.
The web novel is an insane ride that is hard to put down as well. it can be a little hard to follow at times, but the person translating it to english isn't a native english speaker to begin with. but it's a shame that they didn't continue it as a manga cause i feel that they stopped right as the story was going to get good. He never stops training, and learning, and genuinely grows as a the story progresses.
Im kinda late but ahh fellow web novel readers. What chapters are you on? (Currently I’m done with the current new chapter, chapter 601 but I have to translate it myself cause no one has translated past 450 that I know of).
Holy crap. I think this is probably the first time I've shed tears from reading this. The part where how the MC always works so hard, having to face not just negativity but also criticisms in his whole life, parents never even bothered looking at him properly, just felts so god damn much relatable. When he finally snaps and lashed out, punched his dad, said he wished he wouldn't had been born and even the mom heard it from a distance, really breaks me..
Im agreeing on you for this. The story is genuinely heartbreaking and it made me cry too. The novel also explains the dad and moms side of the story too and they are proud of him for being strong and independent while they can just watch them get left behind. They do care but can’t express it because they weren’t in his life and know nothing about him. It really is a heartbreaking story with great development in the early story.
dang me too 😢
Yea for the first time I almost cried reading this
Hah, you guys are funny, this is incomparable to some of the sad Manwha I’ve read. If you want something that WILL make you cry, look at the first 30 chapters of “One Step Forward To The Flower Path”, the other chapters are pretty mid tho.
@@slenderdragon3442Lmao who tf cares.
Its ironic how it was the demon king who had given him the opportunity to be a hero, more than a hero that his father could ever be.
It's good to remember, even if Eirth wasn't the strongest he was still a top student
If he was not being compared to people far more talented than him in what he was trying to accomplish he'd be praised as one of the most talented of his generation, thats the level of pressure he was under where even that wasn't even close to enough to the people around him
Even his parents would have passing comments about how he's not as strong as they'd have hoped, all while he worked and studied much harder than they ever did
This hits too close to home. My own demons are the people
You gotta also remember, according to Treinar, Eirth has next to no talent for Magic Swordsmanship like his father, with his body not being suited for it in the least. Meaning that Eirth had been working so hard in an area that he was not talented in, that the only people remaining for him to be compared to were the greatest talents of his generation who were actively training in subjects they were particularly suited for.
And the issue was, was that nobody noticed how hard he was working (outside of Sadith/Sadiz). It was to the point where many people thought he was a lazy boy not living up to his potential, when the reality of it was that no one else worked as hard as him.
@@insatiablecookies3565another thing is treynar mentioned that his talents were more suited for physical brawl meaning he took most from his mother and little to none from his father
@@justsomedemononthefbiwante4023 His mom never took the time to figure that out

Because I didn’t see his effort firsthand he sounded kinda whiny, but when I thought about it… His talented parents had no way of knowing the difficulties of being normal. They imposed standards on him and unconsciously looked down on him as he was born in an era of peace.
They kept distancing themselves from him all while having high expectations from him being their son. Having no understanding of him besides what they had heard secondhand from others.
The only difference between this and something edgy is that his impromptu decision to leave gave them the chance to understand him. It was really satisfying even if imperfect.
An example of a story that knows what it wants to be and wants to do.
It's honestly kind of like being born as a normal person with normal skills in a family of champions. Like: "Your dad is a Head Doctor and your mom is a successful business woman, why can't you be the same as them?"

Just saying, but all the people in the colloseum weren't freaking out only until his parents and adopted sibling blurted out whose ability he used, causing all the civilians to freak out. Like, I get it his sister had PTSD so we can't blame her too much, but it still doesn't change the fact that it's his whole family's fault why the whole populace suddenly hated him at that moment by escalating the situation.
Right
Agreed. No one aside from the very few survivors of that city (Mamu could only save a single child, and Sadith was standing pretty far from the center of the blast) and the heroes themselves would even remotely be aware of the personal abilities of the Demon King himself. They never fought him, they never saw him. If they hadn't ended up making a show out of it, they could have played it off as 'potentially lethal magic' (which it is) as their reason to step in and break up the fight as Rival was in no condition to eat that attack.
Instead, subtlety went out the window and the Emperor was pretty much forced to have him arrested or he'd have a riot on his hands due to the ensuing panic and unrest. He had no choice but publicly show his knights were dealing with it, regardless of how he felt about it personally: The man knew his daughter liked Eirth a lot.
Honestly this is a breath of fresh air.
The MC's parents and friends actually realize they fucked up massively and want to make amends even to the point of turning traitor because their Emperor's a wuss.
Dude needs to take some lessons from Hiruzen Sarutobi.
Fully expect the hero to join his wife when he finds out the emperor's planning to sacrifice his son to appease a mob of idiots.
Funny how the demon king is more of a father figure to the mc than well his own father it seems like his parents never understood whats it like to be in the shadow of thier parents thats a hero. And never even bothered to train him to a point he got help from another source which end up being the demon king .... Who i honestly like that he was there to guide him and when the mc was shunned the demon king dint say to destroy things he just says to surpass his own father.
You want their emperor to learn from an old guy who let 2 monsters roam free and cause so much death and misery?
Well, the Emperor has to consider his position. If he protected Eirth the people would likely revolt against him and cause much more casualties. I don’t think he would kill Eirth but permanent imprisonment would be the only choice to appease the populace and not you know… kill his friend’s son.
@@HeWhoTookADumpOnAPorcupine Pretty much this. He knew his daughter liked Eirth too, and the scene at 1:50:45 to me comes across as him trying to find an 'out'. The search net for Eirth doesn't particularly strike me as widespread (he could walk around freely in the next town over) so it feels like silently giving him time to leave the Empire while appearing to give the people the imprisonment and execution orders they wanted until things hopefully quieted down.
The people aren’t stupid either, they’re just not personally acquainted with Eirth and don’t have the same knowledge that people close has. They didn’t know the kid’s internal issues that forced him to train his ass off and become stronger, they just know the kid pulled the demon lord’s magic out of nowhere. It’s perfectly reasonable to think the kid has connections to the demon lord and considering people lived through the destruction of the demon lord, of course they’d want him dead so there’s no chance of another demon lord.
It's funny how the writer made their name's puns or placeholder and the editor just rolled with it😂
the funniest thing when I read the novel of this was that I thought it was just some goofy fantasy shounen shit because of the names, treynar = trainer, phianse = fiance, rival and etc. but then I got to the tournament part and I was just blasted with the feels man. Just reading the intermission chapters that are in the POV of his mother, father, the maid, and etc. also gave me a bit of schadenfreude because they finally understood what they've done to Eirth/Earth(in the novel i read it was earth)

This is probably one of the best written manga ive come across. Its does a good job of touching on some familiar tropes but not lingering on them to the point of being annoying. MC has some real human issues and lives in a world that actually has to deal with war and its fall out much like our real world. Whose the heroes, whose the villains, whose to blame and can both sides heal after war? I really really wish the writer picks this up again and continues it.
The writing in the story is definitely better than the narration.
My only real complaint would be the secondary and background characters. I feel like they're poorly written and their actions are very forced to drive the story forward. I'm fine with a little bit of tropeyness, like the ninja girl, but they seem more extreme, including the dad. Everyone instantly hates the kid and wants him killed for using a skill or similar one, the demon king used. People say the kid is just like his dad when using a completely different fighting style to propel the MC's insecurities. The parents who effectively went to get milk and never came back and refuse to listen to anything from their kid. The empire is desperate to find and kill the kid because of "remnants" of the demon king.
Honestly, it makes more sense to me that the kid could've developed a similar magic spell or found someone else who became a mentor, as he noted he had a mentor, who developed the similar skill after watching the Demon King use it.
I don't see a reason to kill people for using similar magic to the DK, it's like killing someone for using a sword because the DK used swords.
Overall...I like the writing and I honestly hate a ton of anime, manga, LNs for their lazy writing. This MC doesn't just have some generic motive. His feelings are well reflected in his experiences. He doesn't just fall for any event or speech someone else does and his beliefs seem like they carry weight to him. There is some cheese here and there but it's nice to see a story where he doesn't collect young girls like pokemon simply by smiling at them. He doesn't seem to carry stupid convictions that are driven around being the good guy and always being good, or because the writer needs a revenge story.
Is like ace combate zero
The webnovel is still ongoing, there is a translation scan for it
@Kefka2010 true he is one of the first manga character I understand why bystanders simp for
During the fight between Erith and Rival. Treynar said his name when Erith powered up his breakthrough despite only calling him only "boy" in the past chapters. Just a signification that Treynar approves Eriths strength and growth.
It's more than that. He basically sees Earth as his friend, disciple and possibly even surrogate son.
incase anyone somehow sees this, there is a panel missing when the mom goes to the protag's room after he runs away where she remembers when she casually mentions in a conversation that "If only he was a bit more... " and another line of "I wonder if he can even do it~" then its the panels at 1:10:26 in the video.
It was just like 2? ish panels but really hammered home the feeling of her not knowing the protag at all and further points out how alone he really was in his own family.
This is a really well written fantasy story. I'm just really sad it's actually a light novel since the vast majority of LNs are never translated, officially or unofficially (particularly since it takes so long to translate even just one chapter by yourself). I feel like if I had access to the raws of the LN, I'd spend my time translating it since I have the time and wherewithal to do so, as I just want to know what happens in this story. But finding those is almost impossible if you don't have the connections, and ordering the original releases is such a pain in the ass.
An easy fix is to just learn yapanese
is this an adaption from a wenb novel or a light novel ? on MAL people talk about a web novel and i can't find it
You can translate web novels as well where light novels usually originate from. If you do it well and gain a good reputation you could probably make some money if you pick up and translate a good series.

01:06:59 Thats the panel that makes ppl cry the most. The art for that panel is marvelous and captivates Earths inner tumold and his pain. He stands alone, while everyone around him, doesn't even listen to his outcry. Such a magnificent panel!
I really dislike the dad. I guess we're supposed to but a lot of the background/secondary characters are annoying.

TLDR: Dad loves his son but didn't know about his complex and insecurity, was terrified of the possibility of his son being in contact with the Demon Lord's still living followers who may be using him to take down the Empire * because the possibility his son learned the technique on his own by pure coincidence doesn't cross his mind until it's already too late * and so said the worst possible thing he could at the worst possible time which he regrets and wishes he had kept his cool instead.
@wolfman210 The parents seem to be some real pieces of shit early on though. It sounds like the author wanted a redemption arc later on but these parents basically went to the gas station to get milk and never came back until he was an adult. Letting a child maid raise your kid for you is probably a good indicator that you're a bad parent.
@@Kefka2010 Nah the WN just goes into more detail than the manga and explains WHY everything turned into a massive clusterfuck.
Basically this story is the definition of "miscommunication kills" and "assumptions make an ass out of everyone".
It's more they never really had time for him because they were always super busy and thus were never able to properly bond with him.
It didn't help that Earth as a kid acted tough and never let them know how hurt the unintended neglect made him feel. So, they began to take their bond with him as a given and assumed he knew they cared.
Hence why the dad scolding his son blew up in his face because he unintentionally stepped on every landmine and finally made Earth reach his breaking point.
And why the mom has a mini breakdown when she realizes that she doesn't actually know her own son and that Sadith despite only being 4 years older than Earth is more of a mother to him than she is.
And TBF 15 isn't really an adult.
@wolfman210 True, 15 is a child and maybe saying they never came back until he was an adult is a hyperbole...but he's 15 and out in the middle of nowhere so they may never meet him until he's an adult.
As for the WN, maybe the parts care and try but are extremely busy...That manga gives the impression that they don't do shit. When the dad is confronted, the kid asking for training, the dad blows him off. The mom seems to have more of a relationship with the maid than her son and if she feels like another child is more of a mother than her then she fucked up. The WN may be much better but I think in the manga they're pieces of shit at parenting.

I saw this comment before I watched the video, but even now when I'm mid way into the video, I can tell why you would cry. It's a sad story, just being told by a narrator.
So. The SINGLE gripe I have with this currently is Rival being in the search party at the end. Like I get being a sore loser but, firstly, going to try and basically kill your "friend" is a bit much and, secondly, this leading him to try and show off only later to be exiled and hunted by his own dad is a whole other LEVEL of effective sore loser status. I understand to a degree cause Eirth got a kinda bs powerup but, like, dude, you are a swordsman, learn to lose with some level of grace even in the face of an unexpectedly strong opponent. But, damn, does this make for good drama.
Who are you talking about Rival or Eirth and could you elaborate a bit more ( also the search party in the end isn't for killing Eirth )
Rival, I think
Actually, in the web novel, Rival DIDN'T attempt to attack Eirth after he knocked him back post Breakthrough Mode. In the web novel, the two of them were at a point where they were going use their strongest attack on one another and that's when the Death Spiral stuff happened. He didn't attempt to attack him in a petty manner like the manga suggested.
And even his characterization is more interesting in the web novel, where it's revealed that Rival is more like an introvert and that attitude that he displays constantly is his struggle to display the right emotions.
He actually takes it somewhat harshly over Eirth abandoning the Magic Sword technique and deciding he didn't want to be a hero of the Empire like his other "friends."
The Demon king was a better father figure than the MC's actual father

This, i thought, was going to be an MC finally achieving his goal and getting all the praise in the world, instead, he was banish, hated, never to be seen by the people around him anymore, and tortured. I sat there awestruck 1:04:44 , as Eirth was about to be victorious, everything, EVERYTHING was ripped away from him, as i was listening, I couldn't bare his pain and shed tears, no wonder he needed the power, he was always a shadow, a shadow no one believed in and when he proved himself, proved that he wasn't this "Hiro's kid", no, he was Eirth, *Eirth Ragan* , he was feared and hated and even to be slapped by HIS OWN FATHER?
The author did a great job on portraying how it feels just wanting to be loved by the people around them, what lengths it will take for them to even notice you as yourself, to prove yourself, to endure pain and suffering hoping for a better life, just.. for.. a better life...., and in the end....?
Sad thing is his parents, the princess and the maid all DO love him but lack of communication and misunderstandings about Earth's feelings caused this massive clusterfuck.
In order:
Parents were always busy when he was a kid and thus failed to properly connect with him thus not knowing about his massive insecurities and complex about being their son. Not helped by Earth trying to act tough as a kid and never letting them know how much their unintended neglect hurt him. The dad was only harsh in the arena because he was terrified at the prospect of his son being contacted by the demon lord's followers and lost his cool and handled it in the worst way possible.
The Princess has known she was engaged to Earth since she was a child and thus acted like they were already married which is why she's so possessive and nagging towards him she assumed he also knew and felt the same way which he didn't.
The maid assumed Earth's feelings towards her were shallow and he'd grow out of them and marry the princess so she saw no harm in playfully teasing him because she thought his reactions were cute, not understanding how deep his feelings were for her.

I have read and watched a lot of these manga recaps and this story has to be one of if not the best one I have listen to the emotions of each character can be felt, their reactions and actions also can be reciprocated so well this is why the MC is just so different from the norm of most MCs in manga and anime that it makes me happy obviously his situation is awful but I feel like everyone can relate to that and once you can relate to someone so deeply it’s almost like your attached to them even the side characters can be related to like if you noticed his father has not yet figured out that he is the person that most affected our MC’s life and this can be shown when he is regretting everything that has happened to make the MC leave his old life everytime the father is about to make a epiphany a knight calls his name showing us that his influence is vast but also overwhelming at times which he has not figured that his stature and status was the only thing that kept affecting the MC Treyhnyr (idk how to spell it) is another well written character as his intention are only usually for the betterment of our MC Treyhnyr never really points our MC in a wrong direction but is still a great guide and almost father like figure for our MC teaching him that the world is the only thing that will never confine or stop him from achieving what he wants that is why I think that this manga is so great because of it’s overall relatable and character development/building/definition

This didn't feel like a manga written up on the spot, but a well crafted light novel. The ending was really touching too, even though I think that ultimately there is no healthy solution in the end for the unity that they are seeking to achieve. The closest answer to me, is to merely enjoy all the different cultures and traditions rather than conform all the people underneath one banner. It is what makes exploring the grand world worth it, the good and the ugly side of each homogeneous society. For it is in that society of which each of our individuality is founded on, and is rooted in.
The fight with rival and the reactions of the audience Mcs family and friends were a lot more impactful in the LN. Especially with the mom and dad.
I totally agree that the LN/WN did had a bigger impact
fr in tears with this story....i love it...the part where he didn't even let the demon lord blame himself made me love the mc✨
credits to the writers that made this amazing manga✨
The manga was axed, but you can pick up the light novel from Chapter 65 (the novel is called Forbidden Master). Have fun homies!
Tnx
I love you so much, thank you so much for this
Thankyou! This is such a dynamic video and the narration is excellent, the voice is crisp and clear.
Hopefully the author will continue the story. One of the better written ones I have come across in a long while. I'd say it refreshing.
Bro this kid got the best dad figure anyone could think of man. Like he thought this kid how to make a frkin tornado out of his hand from being taught of a spirit that can't even interact with anything..
this story has made me cried many times because it feels like the MC didnt deserve any of it and he was only in his fathers shadow
I hate when an MC doesn't hit a girl that does the same exact things as the men around her but he hits the guys.
He should have hit the ninja girl. He KOed the other two.
She stabbed him multiple times and in all likelihood was going to kill him.
This is the FIRST recap to make me cry and i started watching them back in 2020 so since i was 10 this hit me hard i cried like 3 times during this and i hope we can all see a part three keep up the amazing work action toon aka best recapper on youtube 😎
Holy hell this really crushed my soul I haven't cried like this in a hot minute . After all this training one wrong spell and his life shatters more than it already was. All he really wanted was to be recognized as a person and not as " The hero's son ".
Oh, I really loved that manga, even to the point on going to read the light novel. The way I can relate to Eirth, he just wants to be known as himself, not as the second coming of the heroes or the Heroes' son... How he pushed himself so hard just to prove himself to his parents and for them to be proud, with a lot of pressure and everyone not seeing himself as him but as the Heroes' son and all of his efforts being ignored...
Plot twist imagine him becoming the new demon lord and the final boss not gonna lie this is a good manhwa to look forward to
Apparently this is all there is cos the manga was cancelled

Thank you so much for bringing this to my attention I got to the halfway point and decided I wanted to keep reading on my own, and it was a beautiful story that was sadly cut too short. Genuinely one of the better mangas I've come across, which makes me all the more sad that it was axed, as I am writing this it has only been 10 minutes after I finished reading it and the pit in my heart is far more massive than the feeling of some of the mangas I have finished reading.
From what I was reading the manga was simply made as promotional material for the light novel, which is still ongoing I believe, idk where to read it online tho
Wow, they wanted him when he ran away but hated him for the power he rightfully earned.
having no place to feel safe, no one to talk to, no one to guide him and finally he got someone who would do that he wasnt going to deny who saved him from such a faith, he had a dream but was never able to do anything to get close yeah thats going to be painful i really want to read more of this i really love the character development.
loved it dang ..... hope its continued ..... fingers crossed
I saw this pop up on my feed today, and honestly, I dont regret clicking the vid. I actually teared up a few times reading this cause I have had the same doubts and feelings of being inept, but I want to push on. I started reading the webnovel and although abit cringy sometimes, I am enjoying the story so far. Thanks for the reccomendation
Wow this is actually really good! I figured it'd be another generic one but I'm actually immersed in the story! I can't wait for more! :D

damn....... strangely enough I actually started having tears come out when mamu was searching for him and her slowly realizing she doesn't know her own son and his sufferings why is it that most parents forget you have feelings too ahhjgfhudgdghhj this manga is rlly good
I really love these stories of heartbreaking misunderstandings... They didn't understand his feelings, but they didn't actually hate him. He goes to another country where he gets accepted for who he is... His friends follow him to the other country, and they see the legacy he left behind, and they get a reality check... Manga has fantastic art and conveys feelings in great detail!

I was so mad when I read first ofcourse I cried too.
Here the parents are at fault the most because a child can even fight the world proudly (mostly he would lose but still) if his parents or someone dear to him understand him and be his power. And that void was filled by Demon King

This one is really sad and encouraging at the same time sadly that this manga end because it’s a *promotional manga*
for light novel which I also encourage people to go read it as well.
it’s a good one I recommended.
While I personally love this story and even read part way through the webnovel/light novel version after where the manga ends, where the fight between Rival and Eirth was also more fleshed out, there was one thing I wish would have happened during the battle between the two at the colosseum: how cool would it have been if Eirth had removed the sword from Rival's hands during the fight and made him fight him bare handed?
Hear me out, this is just a fan observation so you can agree with me or not, but during the fight, I think Eirth should have taken a moment to show how much better of a fighter he actually is than Rival or even Fuu and Fiancei in a more pronounced way (before the controversial bit with the Demon Spiral.) There should have been a moment where Eirth would have caught Rival's sword or knocked it from his hands, kicking it away or something like that and then made it so Rival couldn't get to it, making Eirth force Rival to fight him with his fists.
It almost would have been a "coming full circle" kind of moment. Eirth always fought with a sword against Fiancei and Rival who were the superior swordsmen and Treynar said that his lack of direct talent with a blade was holding back his potential in combat. Making Rival fight Eirth with his fists, giving HIM the handicap for once, and Eirth being the superior combatant would almost be this cathartic turnaround of symbolism to Eirth, showing how he got stronger by listening to someone else for a change, someone who wasn't just saying "try harder" like his parents or Fiancei.
Where did you read the light novel?
@@JamesMcKinnie-ic9kx I was only able to get up to the arc post the last chapter of the manga. There's a four-hour long RUclips video someone did that has a text-to-speech reader go through the third volume that covers what happened after Eirth, Treynar and Aka part ways.
It's a bit hard to listen to but if you hammer through it, it's worth it for just some more of what happens. Spoilers below:
1. Eirth and Treynar discuss Fiancei and Eirth doesn't know she likes him still.
2. Shinobu stalks Eirth to a village of con artists and thieves where she secretly helps him get his money back after getting gypped.
3. Eirth befriends a Yankee delinquent inspired half demon named "Bro." The names don't get any better. They hang out a bar with a bunch of townspeople and actually have a hilarious dance off where Treynar teaches Eirth the Michael Jackson "Moonwalk" move.
4. Eirth and Bro become involved in busting up an illegal operation that pits enslaved Demons in colosseum battles against one another for wealthy humans to watch and gamble on.
5. Mamu, Fiancei and the team looking to reconcile with Eirth reach the village post Eirth and Bro's success, Eirth hightails it out of there with everyone chasing after him while he's in Breakthrough state.
6. Eirth gets kidnapped by a former general of Treynar's original army at the end of the volume.
