Most I've seen players doing was bonking their heads against the structure and trying to break in glitching through the gaps in collisions. Exploration in ED has devolved into checking out things for a moment then logging off while the "major narrative phase" takes literally 6 months to advance.
I'm hoping we get to start doing more on foot to fight thargoids too. would be interesting to see a situation where we have to raid motherships for gear
It always amazes me how when you blow up in the maelstrom right next to the titan, the pilots federation rescue rangers still have no issue getting you back.
@@bearwynn yes I believe the lore is that you turn into an escape pod and the rescue rangers rescue you as a part of a pilots federation agreement when you first signed up. Also when you are blowing up, your ship is telling you to eject in your escape capsule, it's not animated though I guess because it's too hard or unnecessary.
In other games you just respawn after taking a bullet to your head. I don't think trying to talk realism into respawn mechanics makes a whole lot of sense.
@@anthrazite no we need a system like the fuel rats, when you die you inhabit an occupied escape pod and someone has to come pick you up and deliver you to the nearest hospital station. If they don't get to you fast enough, PFRR will get to you eventually. And if you're on the other side of the galaxy, just log off for a few days and you'll be back lol
So thargoid capital ships that just like human versions cant be destroyed and dont ever move...visually it looks cool but just feel incredibly underwhelming for how many years fdev has been trying to hype this.

Default build. Shields largely useless against Thargoids as they have shield-penetrating attacks. Thus all the Hull Reinforcement and Module Reinforcement modules on his ship.
This Titan is similar to the largest ancient Thargoid crash site although this Capital Ship is a smaller degree than that colossus Thargoid ship "whats part of it remains".
This is such an insane video, the sound effects n distortion sounds crazy top notch, even the assistant voice begin to stutter when u were close to the alien ship. thanks for the upload !
What if during the fight when it deploys the electromagnetic field the storm thickens and it tires to run away or hide deeper in the thargoid cloud. So it become more like hunting Moby Dick, and youd have to evesde or kill the thargoid ships to.
It's just a shame that the only interesting game content is buried behind such a wall of requirements that themselves are buried behind a wall of mindless grinding that hardly anyone will ever experience it. ED might look beautiful, but as a sandbox game it's deathly dull - sounds cool, doesn;tit, "be a trader, be a miner, be a bountry hunter!" - but you soon discover you just have a job in space, th novelty factor is very brief as you do the same thing hundred sof times, to get a bigger ship with more gear....to do more of the same. The Thargoid stuff is the only story narrative, but it's so deathly slow and useless unless you're willing to grind even more to get AX weapons and stuff.

No, they were here first and we began settling and building on planets very much seeded with barnacles, they have warned us again and again and trying to genocide them was crossing the line, the thsrgoids entire reaction has been based on what f-devs call escalation, it came to this because players started blasting them into dust, they have also said the thargoids have no interest in wiping humanity out. They are throwing us back and intend to stick around for awhile, f devs have also confirmed all the original lore is true, there are several thargoid families, like ants and two specifically really don't like each other. Of the two massive things they have put into game I suspect the titan is the first the second will come later when mommy shows up. Two data-mined files for a tharg-titan and tharg-hiveship exist, either way right or wrong they need to be stopped

Nothing much. You get to look at a working thargoid mothership up close. Can Q: you walk inside it? A: No. Q: Does it react to you shooting it? A: no difference from flying close to it.
I would change somethings about ed combat, if your ship deploys a heat sink, it gives ships a targeting vector, if you haven't changed the ship your flying's heading since deploying it... with the amount of heat that's jettisoned, it seems probable to me that it would be detected.... even with silent running. could weight the chances of a hit, based on the amount of points, in which a heat sink can be deployed, that ship could have, with multiple heat sinks being launched from different points at near the same time, being a very bad idea... allowing triangulation
It's cool that fdev expanded gameplay interactions for thargoid space fart clouds, but would be much better to see performance actually being fixed and maybe increased roster of landable planets in the future.

Caustic damage is caused by clouds of acid or caustic missiles for example. You can cook the substance off by overheating your ship or you use caustic sink launchers to remove it. Also decontamination limpets can get rid of it, but they are not as effective anymore.
I wish i had the time to invest in this game to grind out all the engineering. The grinding made the game unplayable for me after a point because i just dont have that kind of time anymore. Now whenever i log in its like oh i guess ill go to haz rez and collect bounties or maybe try to grind some more for corvette
Motherships are cool and all. But what's the red-light source in the middle part of the cloud. Maybe the moterships are not the main threat in the Malestrom
The game really does just throw you in the deep end to learn and experience things as you go. The game truly has a special place in my heart for it's insane space sim immersion. People who say it's a grind, well yes, so is life. It's supposed to be realistic. It's literally a game set as how real life would be in the future. I think the only thing the game is missing is endgame content. Once you have beaten a few Thargoids, engineered a few ships to max capabilites, and got yourself a megaship. There's not much else to do other than explore and repeat. If they added the ability to build and manage your own bases, had more secret and random events to discover in deep space, or even added more story elements like interactive crew members and getting messages from people you may have saved in a rescue mission etc... Starfield just come out, and as much as it is good. It doesn't have that same feel and immersion as Elite. If they combined Elite and Starfield right now, you'd literally have a perfect game.
It's not that it's an OP, _"I win"_ ship for everything. It's just its combination of module slots, speed, maneuverability, hard points, etc. makes it an ideal candidate (along with the Alliance Chieftain) for this kind of encounter.
This is stupid, and I don't mean this as a criticism towards the CMDR. But a single small combat ship casually cruising around this humongous alien megaship, blowing up bits of it entirely unopposed for almost 10 minutes, only to get challenged by a single fighter? What? I find this incredibly immersion breaking and quite frankly, lame.
TBH the Thargoid behaviour is pretty much what was expected. You could see that they had a lot more than a Glaive to deal with every time they let their temperature spike, but then they went cold or silent again before things got out of hand. Thargoid drones are canonically dumb as a sack of bricks ("rudimentary" intelligence as the codex puts it), and they have terrible vision without a strong heat source to track. They sort of own-goal'd themselves in that regard by surrounding the Titan with rocks and a giant fart cloud to obscure things. We already knew they were almost blind in there even before U15. The reason the glaive was able stay on target is simply because it's fast and maneuverable enough that you never really get the opportunity to shake it once it's on top of you.
jump in there guns blazing with no heat management and alone and come back to us.😂 theyre following AXI sop... the goids are doing what theyre supposed to, go in there unprepared and THEN youre gonna have a rough time.
