GREAT CONTENT!! Let me just share to you a quote, "A wealthy person is simply someone who has learned how to make money when they're not working." - Robert Kiyosaki. You become financially free when your passive income exceeds your expenses!
It's not illegal to do day trading. You have to maintain a minimum balance of $25000 in your margin account to do day trading. You are only considered a day trader if you exceed more than 3 intra-day transactions within a week. That has got nothing to do with H1B, F-1 or citizenship rules as per the SEC. Everybody needs to maintain that balance.
Just saving money is not enough. Most savings accounts have very low interest rates which means that you're losing money when considering inflation (around 2% generally). So how do get on the winning side? Investing in a broad index fund like the S&P 500 has returned around 6% after inflation for the past 100 years. Even though there might be some dips in some years, it generally goes up in the long term. So it's very important to put your money to work for you and invest with a long term outlook. Do some research and start investing today!

Day trading rule I feel is BS...what if an H1b or F1b student does research on stocks during evening or night at off time and during his lunch or break, looks at stock app for 10 mins to buy or sell...what is big deal with it? I really need to understand this.
I am also researching on it for a while. Is it a good idea for people on F1 with so much uncertainty to have a Roth IRA setup here? Please let me know if you found anything useful.

My two cents.. Never invest all your money in individual stocks unless you are pro investment banker or trader.. Get an etf or mutual fund or index fund since they monitor and do the work for you. Also never invest in one area. Think of building a portfolio

In India stock trading is much more complex , they have equity n preference shares n thre pro & cons , we hve to pay while opng demat account , on evry sale we have to give sme prtn from our profits n so on....... 😓
