I picked up a 1977 Glas- Ply.. The boat itself has been covered and maintained and the boat is solid. I'm not much of a Craftsman but was curious about putting in new carpeting this Spring in my boat. Thx for sharing this info. I had no plans on getting the Carpet from Lowes etc so you just reinforced that reasoning. Thx Again
we could learn so much if you let your buddy talk as a video creator its is obvious the multiple times you shut him down, don"t be afraid to let the guy who does it every day tell how to do it good video but heavy on the sales pitch,
Dave, I have a 21 x 16 inch 3/4 in marine plywood that I want to completely cover. This was to replace the back of a deck/flip seat back and have one side with cut out corners to fit into the deck. I like the way you cover the corners, but having problems completing all of the corners the same way as you do. Actually the cut results in me having two extra corners on the plywood. Your suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
I have an older Lund boat with a rotten side panel that needs replacing. The panel is covered in vinyl. I have purchased some marine plywood and vinyl fabric. What sort of glue or contact cement would you recommend for glueing the vinyl to the wood and should I seal the wood first
Topher Bec my Alumatech boat has carpet glued to the aluminum hatches. Main areas have marine grade 3/4” plywood with carper glued at the edges (not all over)
Hi Dave. Going to be replacing the carpet in my ‘71 Larson Shark. Previous owner used some cheap carpet with no rubber backing. It created some bubbling in the fiberglass floor. How can I fix this? Also, I’m going to purchase the “Automarine” carpet from Menards. It’s classified as “Indoor/Outdoor” at the store so I’m confused as to why I can’t use that. Any help is appreciated!
You have said nothing about the grain of the carpet facing the same way for the entire boat. Also, CDX plywood has voids, knots, cracks etc. I wouldn't use it to make a dog house.
This video gave me plenty of confidence to do mine. All of my edges and corners look great still and here we are 5 years later.
I got outdoor rubber backed mildew resistant carpet at Lowe’s for $1.60/6foot linear. Super resilient
Got the homedepot carpet in my boat for 5 years so for ,its definitely not as thick but seems to work just fine

Is the glue different for fiberglass than wood? If so, can you explain that?

How to carpet a 2x2 piece of plywood.
How do you stick it to Aluminum????
I think he has given up on the products here or being able to purchase them on his website
Very helpful thankyou
How do you screw it to the boat? Do you screw through the carpet and leave the screw exposed?
A great question. In a runabout you install the floor first. You can’t roll the carpet underneath the wood.
Thanks for the video
Can carpet be installed on aluminum?

im trying to determine if I need to completely coat my marine grade plywood for flooring before the rubberized marine carpet or is it not needed?
AJ Provo paint enamel on regular plywood (don’t use OSB on aluminum boats due to reaction) works great
Hi Dave, Thanks for your video. None of your links are working here in Ireland. Can you PM me with updated links please. Thanks a mill

Regular steel staples on a boat?
Wouldn’t recommend it. Galvanized staples aren’t that much more expensive and are worth the extra penny.
what mike said
Carper gatekeeping
that is not how to carpet a pontoon boat
Do not take your boat to these hacks!
Why show install by placing ply wood on carpet?? Show people what to do but not really lol. I stopped watching after that
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
