You have said nothing about the grain of the carpet facing the same way for the entire boat. Also, CDX plywood has voids, knots, cracks etc. I wouldn't use it to make a dog house.

No response to any of the questions! The part with you cutting a hole and trying to rip is enough to turn me off as you are not trying as hard as my 80 year old mother could!

Dave, I have a 21 x 16 inch 3/4 in marine plywood that I want to completely cover. This was to replace the back of a deck/flip seat back and have one side with cut out corners to fit into the deck. I like the way you cover the corners, but having problems completing all of the corners the same way as you do. Actually the cut results in me having two extra corners on the plywood. Your suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Got the homedepot carpet in my boat for 5 years so for ,its definitely not as thick but seems to work just fine

I have an older Lund boat with a rotten side panel that needs replacing. The panel is covered in vinyl. I have purchased some marine plywood and vinyl fabric. What sort of glue or contact cement would you recommend for glueing the vinyl to the wood and should I seal the wood first

I picked up a 1977 Glas- Ply.. The boat itself has been covered and maintained and the boat is solid. I'm not much of a Craftsman but was curious about putting in new carpeting this Spring in my boat. Thx for sharing this info. I had no plans on getting the Carpet from Lowes etc so you just reinforced that reasoning. Thx Again

Good to know, i went and got a carver which im sure isnt nearly as durable as you just demonstrated... i am impressed but i also like carver. My family owns one for a boat and its outlasted all of my purchases combined which is about 4 or 5 car covers... wish i found this vid a while ago...

jackwagon, unless you live in the desert always use stainless on anything marine, especially staples. humidity gets everywhere!!!!

How do you screw it to the boat? Do you screw through the carpet and leave the screw exposed?

Honestly for your money top gun is much better. I build these covers professionally and after seeing another shop use aqualon and upon delivery the material was already ripped I knew it was no good. Do yourself a favor and use top gun.

This guy doesn't know sh--t about what he's selling or using. A trowel that has teeth!! its called a notched trowel, that glue he is using melts with water contact. I could even watch this crappy vid..
