@John Vee pat riley kept telling them to pass it to starks. his theory was starks will get hot. for sure it sucked, but thats riley and starks both sort of making the mistake.
i miss how old school 90-85 scores, and the tougher type of play. now you cannot shove, you cannot push off, etc. its all about tiny little guys shooting. no more tough big guy forwards, power forwards or centers.
He played with such a relentless passion to compete every time he stepped on to the floor! Thanks John Starks for many incredible moments as a true fan of the game of basketball...
He remains my favorite ball player because of his heart. you cant compare or replicate the situations in the Jordan era. what made JS so amazing was his determination to achieve some positive result no matter what. most of the time it was huge. occasionally it was a disaster. esp in the playoffs, which haunts him.
Shout Out To One Of The Most Underrated Guards Of The 90's!! Also My 2nd Favorite Knick After Ewing!! Dude Played With So Much Heart EVERY Game, And Not To Mention He Gave The 🐐 Problems In The Regular Season And The Playoffs As Well!! #JohnStarks #NewYorkKnicks #3
I remember the Knicks then. Starks, Ewing ,Mason ,Oakley, Harper ,Pat Riley. Madison Square Gardens was electric then. Steph Curry is todays' John Starks. Stephs brings everything John brought except its 2.0. Steph brings the exact same electricity. John Starks is my favorite player of all time and Steph is my second favorite.
Very different players. I loved John Starks, but he wasn't even close to being the deadeye sniper that Curry is. And Starks was much tougher and a far better defender and athlete.
The John Starks I remembered was the guy making it into the NBA as a free agent - arguably the hardest way to make an NBA roster. And the fact that Starks played a lot bigger than his 6' 2" height. I sort of understood why he was often listed as 6' 5". John Starks' strength was his ability to defend against taller opponents than him. And his streak shooting.
Starks wasn't the most talented, but he had heart like none other and played all out every game. He was known as being a streak shooter/scorer and when he was off he was terrible, but, when he was hot he was one of the best players in the league. It was really a joy to watch John play and I'm happy I got to live during the best era of the NBA before all the rule changes that made it into a track meet 3 point shooting contest it is today.
Frikin hell. I thought I knew everything about John. Then I watch this beautifull clip and find most of Johns plays I never seen before. Thank you very much wistiti93420 , this is probably the best video of my favourite player. JS3
Some plays I never seen before great Video thank you for posting. I´ve a good few VHS casetts of the Knicks between 94-99 with superb Starks´plays. No idea how to post it up. And thank you John - my lifetime inspiration. bless
Thank You - he'd be very good today. He was a top level defender (All NBA Defense, 2nd team) with a tremendous vertical. With today's soft rules, he'd be a really good player. And his mental toughness was notable.
Mark Price would likely supersede Steph Curry if he had so much space and room to operate with no physicality on the perimeter, kind of scary to think what some players from tougher eras would be able to accomplish in this era with the game being so soft, open and easy now
Gday luv Back when I was a season ticket holder Back when my Knicks were feared When Johnny won the slam dunk I about lost my mind So underrated so much heart The Answer comes to mind Retire than jersey..
As a Chicago Bulls fan I hated John Starks and company but have to admit they were really good. I do miss thug ball and hate this current cotton candy era!
Hey brother where did you find that footage at 1:37 at the old Miami arena vs the heat from December 19 1990 ??? Please let me know because I've been looking for Knicks vs heat from the very beginning in 1989 up until November 1991. Thank you
I did re edited your video, still on description I said the original video is yours, just added a music on it and so the video get a little bit short I cropped away the title at the start of video

Xavier McDaniels had just as much heart as Starks during his one year as a Knicks player. He really went hard that entire 91-92 season with the Knicks. A very gritty no nonsense fiery player!!
for real.. drives to the basket, hand offs or lay ins/dunks.. and shoots 3s.. no mid game or post game.. perfect for today's game.. add his defense and heart, and he may well be one of the top perimeter players in todays game..
Can we show all the times Jordan took starks....goat who? Lol. I actually liked starks just disappeared when it really matter. Like the conference championship and the the finals against the rockets. Good vid all the same
I agree starks would be better offensive player today. Being knowone plays defense and he does. U get another back court shooter on that team whose capable of taking it to the rim. That was a championship team!😂 The future is bright Knox is going to be awesome. Of course we got the unicorn and we be getting a free agent next year. Hopefully Kyrie. That's a damn good team and coach. NYC is back NBA. Kyrie for Thomas gotta be one of worst trades. Goodbye Cleveland see u never again. Will be laughing bout u like they do the Knicks soon.
Probably the best highlight reel that I have seen on Starks. Too bad this highlight didn’t gave his greatest performance which was Game 7 of the 1994 finals.
LOVE THIS! Also, Check out John Stark's story here! And he still has it at 50! Watch the game of HORSE at the end! ruclips.net/video/oQsRaZ3Edmw/видео.html
When Starks was on even Jordan had a hard time. Man I miss those days. Starks fired everyone up with his passion and grit!
My favorite all time Knick. I miss 90's Bball
Ruelz A me too miss the 90 being excited watching basketball
@John Vee lol yea but that was game 7.. he won us a lot of games to get to that point tho..
The 90's was an exciting decade for Knicks fans, but it was also a gut-wrenching and heartbreaking decade for Knicks fans too.
@John Vee pat riley kept telling them to pass it to starks. his theory was starks will get hot. for sure it sucked, but thats riley and starks both sort of making the mistake.

Favorite knick of all time!!! His Jersey should be retired. #3 is John starks forever

Shut up. Curry is a million times better than Starks
Curry doesn't bring the hops
Very different players.
I loved John Starks, but he wasn't even close to being the deadeye sniper that Curry is. And Starks was much tougher and a far better defender and athlete.
What you smoking on

I had a Starks jersey... Loved that thing!
me 2 bro
I still have mine! And still love it!
@@H2OMMAGYM I took a lot of shit wearing that thing in the early and middle 90s... Cause everyone was an MJ fan...
I hear you I still have mine in a glass frame.
@@BGD.2980 don't be. He was one of the few who stood up to Jordan.
Such a great player. Loved watching him play.#Don't make 'em like this anymore.
Philip Farnan starks ewing Anthony mason and gerleld Wilkins were the only hope nyc had in the late 80's to the 90's.
Hardworking John Starks!
Hardworking, talented, confident. Not afraid of ANY superstar.
This was an exciting mix that leaves one wanting more.
Starks wasn't the most talented, but he had heart like none other and played all out every game. Undrafted superstar
Some best rivalries Chicago and New York Jordan vs starks loved it
when i played basketball as a teenager.. i patterned my game after Starks.. HEART AND PASSION AND HUSTLE
John Starks was a amazing talent!
Some plays I never seen before great Video thank you for posting. I´ve a good few VHS casetts of the Knicks between 94-99 with superb Starks´plays. No idea how to post it up. And thank you John - my lifetime inspiration. bless
In today's game John Starks would be a Superstar
No
He might, due to the different rules.
Thank You - he'd be very good today. He was a top level defender (All NBA Defense, 2nd team) with a tremendous vertical. With today's soft rules, he'd be a really good player. And his mental toughness was notable.
I agree whole heartedly! Mark Price is another, the talent(Basketball intangibles) were so high back than.
Mark Price would likely supersede Steph Curry if he had so much space and room to operate with no physicality on the perimeter, kind of scary to think what some players from tougher eras would be able to accomplish in this era with the game being so soft, open and easy now
El loco Starks, simplemente el alma y corazón de los Knicks, gran vídeo, la del segundo 48 no la veía hace años, gracias por el aporte
Gday luv
Back when I was a season ticket holder
Back when my Knicks were feared
When Johnny won the slam dunk I about lost my mind
So underrated so much heart
The Answer comes to mind
Retire than jersey..
God, please give me a Knicks team I can love like that squad.
My favorite era of the Knicks. Starks, the legend.
wow, some plays I have never seen before. Fricking hell Johns Starkrs
Starks is rarely credited with having his own style! Which this video greatly highlights.
Dam I miss these days.
Starks is still my fav player of all time, still to this day probably the best SG the knicks have had in a long time
He was a sg
He was very energetic. Kinda reminds me of Derrick Rose. An older, and rougher model of him.
John Starks. Have the jersey still.
The only person with just as much heart is Allen Iverson.. Period.
So so true!!!
Lack of talent
Starks a team player, though. Not a coach killer.
Not as talented as Iverson, but every bit as gritty.
@@FlowIrec most definitely
this highlight reel needed his amazing dunk on the suns mark west!
He is still my best.
John Starks wasn't the hero NY wanted... He was the hero NY needed.
Starks was great!
Westbrook
The best Knickerbooker of all times
John Starks had some of his best games against the Bulls and MJ.
At 0:35 that live 95 cover.
Man crush. I love you John.
As a Chicago Bulls fan I hated John Starks and company but have to admit they were really good. I do miss thug ball and hate this current cotton candy era!
John Starks was one of my favorite guards he played Jordan like a player everyone else played him soft
Favorite player all time he’s the reason I feel in love with basketball and the New York Knicks #3 his number should be retired in the garden 💯
My favorite players greetings from chile
Miss Starks. Miss Ewing. Miss Jordan. Miss Pippen. It' s a long list of 1990's basketball that I miss.

Starks was never scared to compete.
Starks had great hops for a 6'3 guy
40 inch vertical

Qué manera de bailar a Jordan este chico.
Stark was a tough warrior, just too bad he gotta face MJ and Miller at his time......
Good music choice

Starks had some timely shots during the '93 playoff run.
Player Banger !!!🔥🔥🔥
Starts against Maxwell, Ewing sets the pick, Starts for 3, comes up short, and the Rockets win!
Always 1994 Champion To Me

He was the only player on that Knicks team that had Heart. That's not to say there went better players on that team then him but he had that heart.

Rebook should have made john starks a shoe back in the day.
I think he was with NIKE then Adidas
he was signed to adidas! I still have his adidas intruder and adidas fastbreaks sneaks!
Is Stark’s the jr smith of the 90s?
Starks much better player than JR
Super star!
in todays game he will be 3rd team all nba he's game suits todays game plus he's a great defender
for real.. drives to the basket, hand offs or lay ins/dunks.. and shoots 3s.. no mid game or post game.. perfect for today's game.. add his defense and heart, and he may well be one of the top perimeter players in todays game..
half of my username is dedicated to this man.
My flashy team
Iverson - J.Williams - Starks - M.Jackson - Magic
