I strongly prefer the fashion theme. It's much more unique; I've seen other game in playtesting about video game development. Also, as a female gamer, it's rare to see games for more feminine interests.
Ralph Lauren, Oscar de la Renta, Karl Lagerfeld, Pharrell, Michael Kors, Sean Combs and many others will be surprised to hear this is a “feminine interest”.
Thanks Richard. My wife and I played this years ago, loved it, but ultimately jettisoned it due to the rules vagaries you mentioned. I have 600 games and just don’t have the time or energy to spend on a game trying to figure out how it’s supposed to be played. Ignacy makes games with compelling themes, and we’d love his designs if they were cleaner. But alas. The board game market is too congested for me to want to spend time figuring out how I’m supposed to play it. I’m backing this in hopes they shore that up!
I just got into the hobby two years ago and I am learning this lesson myself. I want to play games, I don't want to have to spend hours and hours searching BGG forums and posting in those forums in order to come to an understanding of the rules.
Hey Richard! One question I wonder: The game is supposed to be high interaction with some meanness in it. I know you two prefer the soft route usually, how come you are ok with it here?
whats the average points in this game bc we played at points in 300 points range seems high for a game....didn't know if we were playing wrong. If thats the ave point then ok. Let me know
Hey Rahdo! I particularly enjoy your run-throughs as a primer to learn and teach board games. I also enjoy your final thoughts despite your frequent recommendation to ignore them. I did want to bring up something that I found unfavourable however. At the beginning of this video, I found your paid promotion disclaimer strange. "My personal opinion could be tainted by the money that the publisher paid me". Did you mean it this way? I've always considered you to be a standup and mostly honest guy. While I still think you likely are, I must say that disclaimer really rubbed me the wrong way. I'm not sure why you wouldn't instead try to assure us that despite the payment, you would never sacrifice your integrity when providing final thoughts. Instead I feel that you've opened this weird door where you are suggesting it's possible the money you were paid skewed your opinion.
hi there, rest assured, i don't believe my opinions are swayed because i know what my opinions are. the caveat message is basically directed to the vocal minority of trolls who like to argue that i or other youtubers are literally corrupt shills. my intent was to rob them of their ability to hurl insults at me by verbalizing their barbs ahead of time, robbing them of their potency. you'll note I immediately went into how my opinion hasn't changed now that i've been paid from what it was years ago the first time i covered the game, when no one would pay anything to have me film a video, to further cement this basic truth. so that was the intent, sorry if it came off differently :(
Either the game industry is getting amazing or these reviews here are quite biased. Every video I've seen on this channel (principally Kickstarters) are always introduced with great excitement and the pros are always much stronger than cons... It cannot be all games reviewed here are all good. Apart from that I enjoy the way Rahdo does the reviews. Sometimes the high pitch voice fluctuations are hard to deal with.
Vital's games are amazing, and it's true that you are technically running a company, but his games never really feel like they're about the company itself, which is what makes games like PaP (and Food Chain Magnate and others) stand out :)
I am super bummed Ignacy didn't go with the Video Game Development re-theme, I was sooo stoked when he teased that earlier. Fashion is just not my cup of tea (even though I'm female).
Neither is colonialism for me, but there are some excellent games out there with that horrid theme, take Endeavor for example. I suggest you give it a chance if that was the only negative you found.

My partner sews her own clothes. I can't wait to play this one with her!

The theme sold me, I love this one! Just played my copy for the first time today, can’t wait to get it out again

it doesn't feel that way to us, at all. no more aggressive than any other worker placement game, really...
Ok, thx!
Thanks for confirming that it was a good idea to preorder it :)

Thank you, thank you, thank you for pronouncing it correctly! So many content creators haven't bothered to find out the French pronunciation.

yes, it can :)

@@rahdo thanks, that explains a lot. So basically you review the games you like and don't waste time with other games. Fair enough.
Vital Lacerda games are the best business simulation that exist in the board game industry.
As Richard said this is his opinion and you got yours. There is no absolute facts, sorry.
Food Chain Magnate is much better at simulating running a company than Vital's games. Pret-a-porter is also a VERY good simulation.
@@EgeTunca I agree with your first sentence. However you are stating "there are no absolute facts" as an absolute fact.
I took Gabriel's comment to mean he thinks this is a Vital Lacerda game? Easy mistake to make...

Game looks great but the theme doesn't appeal. Would prefer Hollywood or Music business theme. I would play this but can't see me buying it.

I'd rather play 'E3 the game" with the same mechanics.. theme goes a long way towards selling a game.
