    When I am loading bulls into a trailer out in the pasture, I am really glad to have the help of my dogs.
    Annie and Spur are a couple of my Hangin Tree Cowdogs.

    It’s totally amazing how these highly intelligent cowdogs are trained to do what asked of them & not put themselves in harms way with the cattle-again unbelievable!!!

    I’m no cattleman but I know enough about cows to say that was pretty cool. Nice work by the dogs.

    Wish just one of my blue heelers were trained like that. I am too darn old to be chasing these cows! Great dogs!

    The focus these dogs have is absolutely incredible! Never once do their eyes stop looking at the cattle, even when they're being chased!

    Loading bulls without any panels and standing at the door of the trailer waiting to shut it is just awesome! So great what the dogs can accomplish

    It always amazes me that you can load cattle in the middle of a wide open field with dogs. I’ve never used dogs or ever seen anyone in Western Kentucky use cattle dogs. It seems to be a lot less stressful on the cattle than pinning them up to load them.

    Looks easy, it is, if your dogs have 2000 generations of cattle dog breeding. Stumpy Tails, originated on the Colo River of NSW in Australia, interbreeding imported British and European breeds with a dash of Dingo.

    Is that trailer large enough for 7 bulls?

    • @dagleyranch
      @dagleyranch  3 года назад

      "Physically" there is plenty of room. "Socially" now that's a little harder bulls are territorial so it's not uncommon to have some near the back of the trailer trying to keep the others out.

    There’s another channel where a rancher uses border dogs with his cattle. Not nearly as successful or efficient as using a cattle dogs, which have a completely different herding instinct. Gotta have the right tool for the job😆

      I have seen quite a few videos of Border Collies moving cattle just as well. Seem to be less mouthy and try to move them by sheer presence. Then if that fails they get a nip.
