    This was actually kinda painful to watch. Sarcasm overload. And what was with the random mentions of door handles? Really seems both of you went into this with your minds already made up, and seemed to be no moments of true objectivity. The fact is, there’s very little separating mainstream and luxury cars from a feature’s standpoint these days, which is why the line is being blurred between the two. Went to the Houston auto show and honestly all of Mazdas interiors felt more upscale than the new Lexus NX. And the new Rogue wasn’t far behind the Mazdas.
    It actually DOES come down to style, materials used and dealer experience. Dealer experience is up in the air, but in the other regards, the QX60 is a step up from the Pathfinder. It definitely looks more upscale and luxurious, which was the goal. I get that you alls preference is the Pathfinder, but this review makes it seem as if the QX60 is a terrible product because of that, when it’s not, and is actually a solid entry for the lower end of this very broad luxury 3-row class. I get that you’re saying out of the two, the Pathfinder is more your cup of tea, but the way this was delivered the QX60 seems like a ball of crap with $10k tacked on the price tag. I think the true epitome of an entry for the sake of having an entry in this class is the Cadillac XT6 which shares its interior with the cheaper XT5 that was on the market for 3-4 years when it debuted. The QX60 is meant to go head to head with the MDX, sans the sporty nature that most could care less about.. and it does that well. And when the new Pilot debuts, the MDX won’t be all that bespoke as Acuras launch material made the MDX out to be.
    Also it should be noted that ALL Lexus products are indeed based on Toyota products/platforms besides their RWD models… which is also the case for Infiniti. And all of Lexus’ best selling products are their FWD models that have some relation to a Toyota product.

      You make some excellent points here - as most all luxury brand of mainstream automakers use dressed up lower models. But as mentioned, most do it well enough to seem like an upgrade, and this does not.
      And door handles were be only thing Infiniti showed in their original commercials when the brand first launched. Paul is referencing that. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts.

      Agreed, sarcasm, complain and negative to begin with...did not watch it all the way through plenty of other REAL reviews.

    • @DrBrainrape

      @@petertruncale2246 very true, the overt sarcasm was a turn off and decided to read and concentrate on the comments than the commentary. This looks to be an excellent car and good alternative to the MDX with better styling. I hope people who are in the Luxury 3 row consider this car. Infiniti needs some love. They’re one of the few last Japanese car companies that have a bit more visceral experience in driving, QX80 V8 and Q50/Q60 red sports.

    As an Infiniti owner my main reasons for buying the brand is they are different from everything on the market and the RWD platforms have been extremely reliable and fun to drive. I do like this direction they are going with the FWD platforms mainly scrapping the CVT for the 9AT and stepping up quality, features and technology. This was a good review though and I needed the laugh from you two going back and forth about the Infiniti quotes.

    I bought the 22 pathfinder. I got the sl premium which basically gives me all the fancy tech and comfort that the qx60 brings, for way less money. At this point imo if you're buying the qx60 its just purely for the name.

      Infiniti shoppers are cross shopping with Genesis. I owned the GV70 for about a year. The interior design and quality of the materials were top notch. But for me personally, I felt like the exterior design didn't age well. At first I liked it, thought it was different but nice, but the more I looked at, the more it looked like a station wagon instead of an SUV to me. Of course these are personal tastes and everyone is different, but I don't think the current Genesis designs will age well in the long run. I traded it in for a Lexus LC 500 (midlife crisis car) but quickly outgrew it and now I just bought an QX60 last week. I absolutely loved this SUV since the first photos started popping up a little over a year ago. I got a fantastic deal on it, and only paid $52k for a Luxe model with only 2k miles on it and an extra 2 years of cpo warranty on top of the remaining 3.5 years left on the original warranty.

      Our guys acknowledged that this QX60 is an improvement over the last. But the main point made here is that it isn’t enough of an improvement over Nissans own Pathfinder (which we drove a few weeks prior). We hope you’ve driven all the things being mentioned. Thanks for watching.

    Why is long term reliability i.e. years beyond OEM warranty never discussed on your channel? Feels like a renter's review, not a long term owner. What you ARE buying here is Camry-like reliability, but it's not apparent in this video. The good old naturally aspirated VQ has already proven to outlast many, many, maaaaaaany DI engines made after 2010 ish. Is money spent on walnut blasting every other year normal to you guys? When did it become acceptable to have "disposable engines"? This one is not. That's what you're buying.

    I owned a 1st gen Q45 and loved it. replaced it with a 1st gen G35 coupe and loved it as well. Infiniti's marketing launch was terrible. No one knew what it was. I remember people thinking my Q was a gussied up Maxima, not realizing it was RWD and a V8! lInfiniti lost their way after that . They tried to be too
    many things to too many people. I haven't owned an Infiniti product since then.

    you guys are so far off the mark, it's not even funny, lol. "for this price you could do so much better" So name the better? It certainly isn't German, American, British, if you want reliability. That only leaves Korean and Japanese. And truly, reliability wise, that only leaves japanese. And the only japanese competition for this vehicle is the MDX, priced about the same or a little more. The VQ series engine, although maybe not a powerhouse in this vehicle, is quite possibly the most reliable engine Nissan has ever made. It has a long list of awards for reliability. Truly in this class the only equal is the MDX. Oh and I guess their cheaper cousins, the Pilot and the Pathfinder. If Toyota made a lexus version of the highlander it would compete with this one directly. Oh, and I specd out a Pathfinder with all the nice options and it was so high in price, that it is worth it to get the Qx60 instead for several thousand more.

    The closest and easiest way for Infiniti to stand out is their style and design. Stop bringing us Inspiration concepts (Q80, QX) and just build them. Whether it'll be ICE or battery or a combination, they have some fantastic designs they can use and will still look modern. I feel the QX60 didn't go far enough though it is definitely a step in the right direction. I really hope the next QX80 full-size SUV will go all-out because Genesis is already working on a GV90.

    At this price point and size vehicle I would always go body on frame. Tahoe , expedition, sequoia . All three have more horsepower and are stronger feeling. The luxury level you can go higher trim if you want.
    My sequoia limited seems more useful and has fantastic seats. Best visability ever. And almost 400 hp and more towing. And toyota reliability is impressive.

    • @JDubbs07
      @JDubbs07 2 года назад +2

      Few are buying in this segment to tow, they're just larger people movers. That's probably why they didn't speak to some of your examples. I like your thinking though, and it's good that GMC is finally putting in interiors more worthy of the asking price.
      The Sequoia, like most of Toyota's BoF offerings, are largely for the brand fans only, and Toyota knows this. As interesting as the upcoming replacement is, I recall hearing they don't expect to sell much more than current volume as they only really consulted their current customer base while in development.

    I'm late to this party, but I'm going to agree with numerous other commenters; this was a ridiculous review. Most everyone in this market already knows this is gussied up Pathfinder just as the same relationship exist between RX350/Highlander, MDX/Pilot, Aviator/Explorer, Q7/Atlas, etc.. Buyers in this market already know and have accepted that they're paying a premium for these luxury models based on more economical cars. If you want to say the QX60 sucks compared to any of the uplines like the RX. MDX, Q7, etc.; well then fine, but quit droning on about the pathfinder and comparing it to a Palisade because it honestly makes your review irrelevant.
    Horrible review and you should probably take this one down as it reflects more negatively on you than it does the car. If you want a QX60 review as part of your portfolio, pick a day when you actually feel like sharing information instead of making jokes and do a new one. In the meantime, for anyone shopping this genre and wanting an objective review that you can use to help you in making a car buying decision, here's a good one - ruclips.net/video/C9mAIqw3dvw/видео.html.
    Lastly, I'll trust you're not biased by compensation as you've defended numerous times below; but after watching your delicate pampering review of the RX350H, it's easy to understand why so many commenters think that you are.

    • @TestDriveVideos
      @TestDriveVideos  11 месяцев назад

      We have no problem with a lower branded model being dressed up for a luxury brand - when it offers more than the lower branded car. Here, it doesn’t.
      We’ve called out other brands for it as well. Meanwhile, it’s surprising you think we were kind to the RX350, as most commenters seem to think we hate all Lexus.
