Please i need help with my MK2 1.6 2011 model. The information cluster screen light remains on even when the vehicle is switched off and locked. How do i turn the information screen off when not in use.
Hi I put brand new shock and top months on my focus and put back on car took it for test spin and the knocking from the top was so bad but when I put back on the old top hat with the new bearing it when is there two types off top months for the old and new focus mine is 2009 can u tell me please thanks
That’s strange as I’ve only seen one type of top mount. One cause of the top mount k ouch is when the bearing doesn’t sit properly in the top of the spring. For that the notch on the bearing must line up with the guide pin at the bottom of the strut.
@@GentilsGarage I lined everything up perfect but when I put the new top on it knocked badley it was like the meatel on the top wasn't high enough like the old one was siting high
@@kevingoldbey7401 That’s strange. Never heard of that before. The only way to see why this is happening is to compare them side by side and measure them.
@@GentilsGarage I did the we're the the same all around but when I looked at the old and the new top hat the middle was different the old one had more sticking out the the new one
damn :( only solution is to try and hammer in a slightly smaller impact socket and undo it with plenty of heat and penetrating fluid. Or, weld a nut on it
@@GentilsGarage i was in a time crunch to change the spring for mot so i just undid the track rod and lower ball joint (replaced recently so they came apart) and the top of the strut. it gives just enough room to change spring and top mount. i will replace the whole hub when i replace the shocks. they are cheap enough :)
@@GentilsGarage ya I say that's what it is so but once I put back the old top mount hat it was better but I keeped the new bearing bottom part just changed the hat I never buy napa parts again

You can get a tool that widens the strut gap and it is very cheap.
That correct, but I only found out about it a few months ago

It’s stays on for a few minutes. It’s perfectly normal and mine does the same as well
Hi mate. So the top bolt for the strut is an 18mm?
Hi, yes that’s correct.

@@kevingoldbey7401 ok, and the new ones are same brand as mine, Sachs?
Can tap the hub up to put the shockie in the hub
It’s a bit harder I think. What I’ve done is similar to Ford, except easier as it’s done on a lift.
lucky to get that 15mm lower shock bolt out. mine is stuck fast and now rounded :(

@@FordForTheWin that's a good alternative
Does a mk3 focus shockie fit a mk2 focus
Not sure. Damping rates might be different and mounts look slightly different too
What size is the chisel?
No idea, it's not a big one
Where Can i buy this chamfer?
You mean the Chisel?
No the ones I got are called napa and the shocks are called napa too
Ok, have a look at the pinned comment. One of my viewers had issues with Napa shocks and mounts, so you’re probably having the same issues.

Not T13..but Allen key......ok
I don't understand, where would that be?
