My buddy spent almost $1,000 for his HUE light set up like this and thankfully I got this on cyber Monday from Best Buy for $89.99 and didn't even know the two side bar lights came with it until opening the box! And this is the same if not better than his HUE. Great explanation.
I have been using the Govee app for a while and as you probably know you can get points and coupon codes. When I used both of them it was $51 and I just couldn’t pass up a deal like that😂
can i use my old light strip with the new control box ? i really dont want to remove the old strips since the are already stuck on the tv ? its just the camera and control box that was updated correct?
I would think so… but probably best to call Govee directly and ask. But i think as long as its a USB-C connection it should be fine, but for sure only they could tell you 100%. I believe just the camera and control box was updated to control both the light strip and bars, so you are correct there.
did you try it? Did it work? I would want to try it on one as well and in theory it should as the camera calibrates to the edges of your TV, only issue I'd have to say is that the light strip would be too long but there are ways to get over that issue easily
Hi i have already both of the old model like the immersion light and the pro bar too after having seen a review on them. So i have 2 cameras and 2 control boxes ( one for each). Now you are showing us this new kit. Is there a way we can have only the new control box to work with the old models or you have to buy this new kit again as it is totally a new product???? I think that if you were able to get your hands on a new control box with spots for both the bars and the immersion lights, you could eliminate one of the cameras and have it control both. As long as your bars and immersion lights connect with USB C i don’t see an issue with it working!
@@UnboxReality thank you for replying back. I had a discussion with govee team on amazon and they confirm that it is a new product so they dont wanna sell this box separately. But an update of the firmware should come in 2 months allowing to use both with video mode at the same time and with maybe one camera ( no details about that). So you need to buy that kit again of you want to have the same feature or wait for an update....
Similar to the question I had, I just bought 2 of these kits and am wondering whether we could add both light strips to one controller and 2 sets of light bars to another? Am thinking of using 2x light strips on a large TV and 4x light bars on a large projector screen…
@@belalali3588 Give Govee a call. The only issue i see is that you need to assign each port on the control boxes, one to the light bar and one to the light strip. It may not let you assign both ports to light bars or both ports to light strips. But they may have a work around if you call
Pretty sure I watched a video stating this new Immersion Kit has many new abilities the older products don't. You also control both the Backlight and Light Bars in one spot on the Govee Home app on this new Kit. And the new App updates Govee is doing will only work on THIS new Immersion Kit Backlight/Light Bars... not the older versions
