The Fat Pig indeed! WOW. Multi woodwind virtuosity, amazing composition and arrangement, beautifully produced in all aspects. Thank you! Took me long enough to find you!
Thanks to David Horner for mixing and Ladd and Ester Macintosh for writing such a beautiful tune and a huge thank you to Brandon Wilkins for recording, filming ,editing and producing !!!!!
Mesmerizingly beautiful! So many instruments, yet didn't feel a single time like any of them was forced in for the sake of it. Bonkers arranging and playing guys! Wow, I'll be sharing that on my RUclips feed here, hope people pick this up. 🙌
Thank you for the kind words .. I added the middle part in 3/4 and admittedly I put in a lot of extra instruments like the D clarinet and Db flute and piccolo that didn’t really add anything but it was fun to do
Incredible Doug! You logged a whole lotta hours recording all of those parts, and a whole lotta hours and years learning to play ALL of those instruments! Really sounding amazing! Great piece & arrangement by Ladd too! Thank you for doing this for the pure joy of creation!
This is absolutely gorgeous, and a real lift to my spirit when I needed it. Thank you, Doug, for going to all this trouble, and thanks to Gus Mancini for hipping me to it. (Thanks also to Ladd McIntosh for writing such a sweet piece of music! Somewhere Lalo Schifrin is smiling broadly and saying "wow, this is really good!")
Jeez Louise! Still trying to wrap my head around all those instruments. Sure, you played them all, which is huge in and of itself, but you played them all with really full, nice sound. The hours of practice alone is staggering. Thanks for sharing man.
Outstanding performance and woodwin collection. Take a look at the double reed Triple and Tenora from Catalonia (Spain). May be we could enjoy any of them in one of your marvelous performances. Thank you.😉
This is absolutely best video of one man recording what I ever saw. Amazing musicianship and the collection is beyond the words. I don't know what I have to mention at first. Old collection of Adoplh Sax versus almost full of collections of modern Eppelsheim masterpieces, all kind of sarrusophones and even few rottophones, contrabass a anche and when the crummhorns and sausage basson came up I told mysefl this can't be true, what a COLLECTION! Can I ask for a few questions? - do you think about make a videos about this instruments separately? Like a basic info about the horn and show the ranges, and play few lines in differnt ranges? This would be epic, because I think you are the only person in the world which have so many great instruments. It would be great to hear comparation between the instruments, one room, one person. I'm bass player and it would be perfect to hear diferrentions between all contrabass and bass instrument which you have. - what kind of instruments do you looking for, when do you have almost everythink? I didn't see racketts, tartold, fujara, mention a few but maybe you have them all :) At last but not least, big thank you for your work and passion, this must costed enormous of time and money to give this thing together, you are amazing!
Fantastic stuff, Doug. You get such a great sound on every one of your horns, and the variety of instruments is of course mind-blowing. Of course your soloing is amazing, as always. Wow. I look forward to checking out more.
An amazing Ladd McIntosh composition and orchestration, and very fabulous performances by Doug on his incredible array of instruments!! Bravo, gentlemen!
Something utterly amazing… And sooo interesting! I love the end with all the names for these wonderful instruments. 🌹 Suddenly the amount of instruments in my house feels small😁.
That was amazing! What a terrific arrangement. Your sound was tremendous. The recording production was amazing. More than that i couldn't help but go "WTF was that you're playing?" while the video was progressing. Thank goodness you put a description of each instrument at the end of the video. I don't think i would have been able to figure out what you were playing without the descriptions. Even with the descriptions I still don't know what a lot of these instruments are!
Just amazing Doug. A great piece of music and a mind-blowing array of wind instruments. Hope to see you back in El Paso in September for another great concert.
I was so uplifted by your talented workmanship here. Shared it with all my band and string players. They told me to ask you how long it took for you to record all of this. You are a gift!
Amazing. Perhaps every conceivable woodwind instrument in one arrangement, played by one person and played brilliantly. I enjoyed it from the beginning, but when the krumhorns, flageolets and ocarinas showed up, it totally blew my mind. 😁 Great job and I'm looking forward to more videos. 👍
Thanks Marek I’ve been playing and collecting woodwinds for many years Some of them I can barely play I can play Turkish and Egyptian neys very badly but I have a set Persian neys that I’ve never even been able to get a sound on ….I have a very rare Bohem flageolet that I played on this piece but somehow is didn’t make in on the video
@@dougwebbmusic2300 So I hope that the Bohem flageolet will show up and heard in some next video. Otherwise I'm already planning to show your videos to my students when talking about the history of woodwind instruments 😁
SAUSAGE BASSOON?!?!? What the heck was that made for? In fact, some of these instruments must have been extremely specialized and hence rarely heard EVER outside of perhaps one or two pieces that were composed for their use. Do you have any historical on them? Such great stuff, and a truly impressive collection!
This is quintessential Doug Webb. Great piece Ladd and what can I say about the genius of Doug Webb. I know some percussionist out there is going to take this a dub his stuff on top. But where is he going to put his video images? Ha. BTW, I have that mic too.
Hey Doug, I love this piece and the performance. The wide color spectrum brought about by I have to believe every woodwind instrument is mind blowing. To think you and I practiced together a few times at Berklee.
The Fat Pig indeed! WOW. Multi woodwind virtuosity, amazing composition and arrangement, beautifully produced in all aspects. Thank you! Took me long enough to find you!
You can tell how many sessions it took to record this by how many different shirts I’m wearing
and haircuts too
Dude even busted out the Renaissance loud band for this one!
This is just unbelievable! I can't imagine how much time it took not just to accumulate all these instruments, but to be able to play them as well.
Thanks to David Horner for mixing and Ladd and Ester Macintosh for writing such a beautiful tune and a huge thank you to Brandon Wilkins for recording, filming ,editing and producing !!!!!
Total genius = Doug Webb.
You made my day. The best thing I have heard and seen in a while
"Honey, you have all those instruments and you never play them."
(Doug plays them ALL!)
FANTASTIC!!! Great performance!
This is mind blowing! Beyond epic, unimaginable performance, let alone the collection 🤯🤯! Literally stunned, unreal collection!

Brilliant! Thanks Doug and Ladd (time for some Mexican food?)! Great stuff.

Unreal, Bonkers, Incredible. wow.
TY Doug! 🙂
Bravo Doug. Just great!!
outstanding!! I have some questions too:
- How many different reeds does this require?
- How big is the room where you store all these?
Lots of reeds. I do need a bigger house
Wow! Fantastic!
Wow Doug! You are an amazingly skilled woodwind expert!
DOUG! It’s amazing my dude!
Holy cow this is fantastic!
Spectacular.
Super bravoooo!!!!
Been waiting on this ever since Ladd sent me an e-mail saying that there was a lot more coming! Are those some new sarrusophones I see in the mix?
Yes I bought an Eppelsheim alto with a low G
Incredible!!
Really a tour de force! Way to go Doug!!😊
Yo Doug. Always fine playing

I remember you Paul Hope you’re well
Amazing! I’m so glad you made use of the pandemic to do THIS!!! So, would you call yourself a “woodwind doubler”? 😂
more like woodwind thousandler lol
No one but you can do this! Braveaux!!! Ladd wrote his ass off, but you played yours off!
Effective chart for its purpose
Steve Neff Sent me.
Wow…
Wow..............................beautiful, however, wtf is a Dizi and what is that 'key/thing' next to the embouchure plate? :-0
It’s a membrane that vibrates sympathetically with the flute
It is designed by Eva Kingma
Hey Doug, great seeing this. Did you play every horn you have?
Not even 1/100th
