The "I'm not evil, he's the bad guy" part is so true lol. Xenoblade one feels like 4 DLC expansions in one game, you think the ending is about to happen and then you get slapped with 30 more hours of content like 3 times lol
Good times when games were actually released complete. I mean dont get me wrong, i love the fact games can be patched even after release to add content and/or to fix issues, but the downside is that now companies just straight up sell "incomplete" games just to sell them the rest later.
As much as I fucking adore Xenoblade 1, I will say that the pacing can be exhausting. Especially for someone who isn't into JRPGs and their "the story is about to end sike no it's not here's 12 more hours and 6 final bosses in a row" trope. Xenoblade got me into the genre but it wasn't until my 3rd attempt, now on Definitive Edition as opposed to the Wii/New 3DS version I had played up until Jade Face twice, that I finally actually finished it. So I've played Xenoblade 1 for like 160 hours in total but have only actually finished it once lol
I played that game when I was little, and only very vaguely remember it ending with a bunch of fights over which you had basically zero agency, throwing it in a drawer in disgust and never really thinking about it again. If there was more content, I definitely must have missed something.
