Model car shows are filled with competition cars and street rods. I wish there were more custom entries like your sublime Corvette. It may be because custom cars require more of an artist’s eye which is in much shorter supply in the modeling community.
Gorgeous build. It was a real treat to be able to see this model in person at NN L East. It takes Steve Sanford’s drawing to the next level. Really excellent workmanship.
Just AWESOME.

AB-SO-LUTE-LY love what you did here! Though a Canadian national award winner I still learn a lot even after building for 45 years from individuals like you. TankZ
The frosted clear plastic is a "happy accident". The car looks looks awesome, Uncle!!! Thanks for sharing.
Gorgeous looking C2, cheers from Nova Scotia...
Absolutely OUTSTANDING planning and execution my friend!! A really sharp and sleek rod!! Love it!!
Very cool.🤓👍
Fantastic kustom! I love all of your choices, especially the Astro Supreme wheels, ride height and paint color. I'm pretty good at model building, but you sir, are on a whole other level.

Thae paint job is really cool as well!
Really cool take on a C2 Corvette 👍
Beautiful Vette and cool lighting effect!
Beautiful work Doug! I would have never known some of the little details you added and removed. Cutting the little strips for the chrome is an excellent idea. The license plate is a great touch. Thanks so much for sharing!
Excellent build. The subtle changes really make the model stand out. The color choices for the build are absolutely wonderful. Thanks for sharing.
Over the top as usual thank you for meeting with Irv
Beautiful build Doug. I love it. Ron
Such a beautiful silhouette on that build. That light box is a great idea, i think led lighting is something I'll try.thank you!!
Wow Doug, that is a stunning build. I hope tp see it In October at the show.
This video had me mesmerized Doug! What an incredible Corvette! Thank you for sharing 😎👍
That's awesome right there, looks amazing with all the modifications you've performed to it. Love the design, well done 👍🏼👍🏼
There’s such a weightlessness to all of the design elements you incorporated, Doug. But I think the Arter Rake is the perfect counterpoint…imparting a grounding effect that balances all of the cues.
Thank you, Frank. I love that you used the term "weightlessness"; that's what I was going for.
Just beautiful!🏆
Awesome build, great attention to ….EVERYTHIING….as always👏👏👏
Beautiful model!!! Great job!!!

Super cool build! Loved this video highlighting all that you did. Lots of modifications but they are subtle and everything works. Great eye for design. Knocked it out of the park as usual.
Very nice Doug, Irv gifted me one of those small plaques as well, planning on using it on a low rider some time in the future……
Love those mods, Doug! Nice work.
Very nice, the '63 is my favorite year
Amazing model and True inspiration!
Beautiful build doug! Really like this!
Looks awesome Doug. Most modelers dog that kit but have always liked it. The changes you made just brought out the style of the Vette
Wow, what a great job. Looks so slick.
Very nice build
Love this build, there are a few images of some pearl white mild custom Vettes I want to build similar in style! Great work!

It sure caught my eye at NNL East. Answered my question about the hood too, thanks.
Great video . Was privileged to have you show me the Corvette up close at NNL East .
It was a pleasure!
Very Very nice and Unique!
Stunning.
Beautiful
You've done great job bringing that sketch to life. It's also a favourite car are mine, yet I've never built one, 'Yet'. Although I'm in love with the 'split window', you've now got me thinking twice. Great job.
Love Evans Designs. They're just north of me in Ft Collins, CO. That's one beautiful build, love it!
Great Vette Doug I'm working on That Same Recent Reissue is Dead Man's Curve Tribute So it Had to Have 327 Tri- Carb Six Taillights Stock Blue Metallic With Orange & Red Vintage Flame's Torque Thrust Mag with Spokes Painted Flat White to Go With White Interior
I was long overdue to watch and subscribe. I enjoyed the explanation of why you made the changes you did in customizing this design as well a look at the improvements Round 2 made to this kit in its most recent re-release.
Awesome build! Reminds me of a car Chip Fosse would design & build!
Looks awesome... i built that kit in the late 70s and i still have it.. i looked for the 67 reverse light and it doesnt have it... anyway i painted candy apple red and the rest is box stock.. its my best surviivor from my youth... i just turned 60🥳✌️
Beautiful👍🏼
You have skills sir wow amazing work ❤❤❤
I love it!
Man, that is amazing, so many subtle changes that you'd never notice.
I agree that sometimes those sketches really fuel our imagination. Great job on the build. Thank you for sharing!
To take that kit and make it look like that is a testament to your abilities!
Great custom Vette Doug! Stanford is an amazing artist.
I've been wanting to try some of those Evans Lights, if you use them, they must be good! Awesome Vet! The changes are subtle but you know at the first glance something is different. The color even says this isn't just a light blue. I can only imagine how good it looks in person!
Wow, Doug that is stunning. Love the cleaner lines of that design. Bravo Sir. Cheers JV
Your builds never cease to amaze me. I love your vision on this project.
Breathtaking subtle custom! I love it!
What a beautiful car! Your attention to detail amazes me.
Amazing build Doug thank you for sharing it with us.
Incredible craftsmanship. Lots of ideas for many different builds. Thanks for sharing.
I'd kill to put mechanical fuel injection on my 327 in my impala, great build love the colour.
Beautiful build Doug. Love the color and cleanly built. Please let me know how I can contact you.
I would like to talk about your NNL video. Thank you.
Steve Keith
Clever to lengthen the side window. I have a Triumph GT6 I started back in the day using balsa and wood filler! Maybe I should buy the kit again and finish it with a bit more skill! LOL
I wish there was more models, like 48 chevy fleetlines or 48 fords
There are some who build models and there ate some that really build models
I never thought of using a 6x7 film carrier to hold plastic for vacuum forming.
You have an eagle eye and some good old-time knowledge!
Kustom ❤ 🎶 🎵
Beautiful build!! Can I ask what kit does the original wheels you were looking to use are in?”the Buick’s”
Thanks! The wire wheels were in the AMT Buick Riviera kit.
👍👍👌👌
Looks nice. What did you use for body filler.
I used Evercoat 2-part Glazing Putty. There is an affiliate link to it in the description! Using that helps us support the channel. I like this product because putty hardens quickly and doesn't shrink over time.
Curious not critical, trying to learn... since you wanted 3 tail lights and full window, why not start with a '65 body.. thanks
Good question. Several reasons: I started thinking I would use my old kit from when I was a teen, but when that proved to be problematic it seemed natural to go with the re-release of the same, maybe for nostalgia reasons and it was easier to obtain. Also, if I had used the '65, I would have modified and increased the size of the back window anyway, so cutting out the center was no big deal. Plus, the '65 still only had 4 tail lights from the factory.
