Excellent video. I was looking for it about someone that explain using the errors. I mean, learning with the errors and not only showing the good and easy part of maneuvers. Congrats and hope, one day, have a chance to visit those marines.
your boat has a right-handed propeller, so the "on spot" 360° manouver has to be done clockwise ! nice lesson ! Do the opposit if you drive a left-handed propeller.
The side of the turning mostly depends of the wind direction, and we always make sure to either counter the prop walk, either use it to our advantage. Thank you for your comment and the support to the Chanel captain
Love your instructional videos. One question - after the initial turn when hitting the reverse for the first time, why engage port rudder? is it because the boat still has the forward momentum and you want it to continue turning to port?
The moment you decide to go reverse you keep the rudder to the maximum so it helps the deceleration of the boat and when the boat is still you put it into center to help the acceleration on reverse. That's an advantace maneuver technique and the kid was very experienced so he could understand. You need to guess the future position of the boat very accurately and that's something you can achieve only with a lot of practice
Dear Sailor. very instructive video thank you. i wanted to ask that, mentioned here on your video about slapping the wind. but i cannot find it. can you tell me which one it is ?
Thank you. Awaiting for your video. Actually there is a topic which concerns me the most. That is the med mooring anchoring in the marina. I am having trouble to figure out where exactly to place my anchor and get back in the slot.. As approaching to the slot and seeing the others boat chains i go out to get my place.. thats where the confusion begins. I am trying to place my stern parallel to the dock by driving back, suddenly my bow turns left or right. is it so hard to do this ? is there a tip to calculate the boats bow for the correct place and keep it there, while being on the edge of the boat stern wheel and trying to see if the bow is on the correct place.. ? You might make a video on white board explaining on all weather conditions.. Thanking you in advance again. G.A.

Excellent instructions. Good job by the student as well.
He is one of the best I ever had and only 18yo

@@epicnavigator would you achieve the same result if the rudder was starboard and you alternate between forward, neutral and reverse? thank you.
Nice. It would be very helpful to know which way the prop walks in this boat. Thanks.
Is pulling the stern to port when reversing...a lot ..
@@epicnavigator thanks for the info!

I will make a video on that maneuver soon

So... Where does the bow line come from? Is it already there?
Presumably this is a single rudder yacht
Why don’t you go further forward and back into the spot?
This is some content.

@@epicnavigator Ευχαριστω!
What do you do if you loose the prop in the middle of the maneuver ?
That's another video coming soon
You calling for Help as you deploying the anchor
