I think the cat distribution system is a little wonky, as I already have 3 cats, and one followed us home a few days ago. I don't have room for 4 cats, so he's our guest until i can find someone else to redistribute him to.

The theory that those who pursue a dragon to thirstly get burned is negated when you actually think about it. Every Targaryen and Valerian desperately wants to become a dragon rider. Aemond was extremely eager, but he was brave and overcame any fear, that's how he got Vhaegar. In Adams case, I think seamokes longing for a rider plus Addam's bloodline got him the dragon. So I think it varies from dragon to dragon.
The Targs and Velaryons have intermarried a few times over the generations, even Corlys probably has a good dose of dragon blood. Plus, Adam is probably the closest genetically to Laenor. Two good reasons for Seasmoke choosing him

This season has been pretty good, even knowing what is going to happen they are doing a good job at keeping the excitement and small changes to the story
I think Seasmoke burned Darklyn because he said "I did it" as if he has conquered or is in charge of the dragon, but it's actually the other way around - the dragon lets the rider ride as long as they are humble about it and don't think they are the dragon's "master".

While it isn’t Mysaria in the books, it IS said that Rhaenyra, Daemon, and Laena were best friends when Daemon and Laena were married. All three would fly their dragons together, and there were rumors of them being a “throuple” of sorts. This seems like another avenue of exploring this dynamic, at least from Rhaenyra’s side and without Daemon involved at the same time.
Maybe Alys Rivers is just someone from long ago warging into different bodies. Kinda like the idea of the three eyed raven just swapping bodies with Bran, and leaving original Bran to die in the tree.
I love the fact that these shows and books stray away from the books a lot. Keeps that mystery of not knowing everything that’s going to happen relevant

And the Velaryons have intermarried with the Targaryens in the past, so they have at least some Targaryens blood.
