Hey, everyone. I’m really sorry about the audio. We have a neighbor who has been loud as of late so I wanted to wear a lavalier as a backup to our main mic on a separate track. Since we normally don’t do this, I think we likely got confused and exported both audio tracks which has resulted in this hollow/tinny sound with phasing that is frustratingly imperfect. Hi, Snazzy Labs. After watching this video, I'm unclear as to whether the Series 6 watch is worth it or if a less expensive previous model is better (this is for a first time Apple watch purchase).
I have the Always-On display turned off not because of battery drain, but because the transition from not-fully-on to actually-on is annoying and you often tap, expect something to happen and it doesn't, whereas with the feature disabled there's no confusion as to how the watch will (or won't) react. Wish I'd never bothered moving from Series 3.
For upcoming Big Sur, can you change the icons on the Mac in a similar way that you can change the color of folders? I think the new icons look bad, and by saving the icons’ look before upgrading could you then change them back after upgrading?
Interesting thing about series 5 and battery life. I've not had a single problem with it. I use it every day and only end up with about 50% battery with the always on display. Maybe I'm just a light user?
Hello from Utah. I have a series 5 and was concerned about battery life too. I use it constantly, workout, have the always on display on, and I have never had a problem. I rarely drop below 40% battery. I’ve never once had it die before the end of the day. It also changes so fast that 15 minutes on the charger would bring it back. I’m not sure what these people who say they have battery problems are doing to drain it so fast. Maybe they have the cellular models?
The A14 is more impressive than you think but for other reasons. Instruction level parallelism is how intel cpus do multi-threading. You have such a beefy, parallel set of execution units (per core) and instructions are run out of order in parallel. In some cases, the core is mostly underused so you add another thread sharing the core with the hope that both threads can utilise the core. This adds huge performance without increasing power consumption. Maybe this is a sign that the A14 series will support smt?
We didn't get the Airpod studios. Disappointing. But what do you think about the MAJOR firmware update on the Air pods pro? Apparently they've opened up the world of Dolby atmos at least with Apple TV. Might this have implications for Apple Music in the future as well?? Would love your thoughts! Great vid!
Hearing about your mom and friends' S5 watches battery issues is interesting, I keep always on display on and my S5 gets to the end of the day with ~50% left
This is the first year I’m actually considering buying an Apple Watch. I think cutting some features but having a semi-modern chip for the Apple Watch SE will make it appealing to people who have been on the fence for a while but don’t necessarily want all the other features.
Having an aging (and honestly, a bit battled) iPad 5, I did preorder an 8th gen iPad, and planning on buying a simple loop for my watch as well. But I want to see and feel the latter product in person before buying. Maybe you mentioned this before but what kind of watch did you order? Based on the video I doubt it's the SE, nor a 44 mm cased one but I'm still wondering the specs of your choosing.
The Solo Loop and Braided Solo Loop bands are only compatible with Apple Watch Series 4 or later and Apple Watch SE. These new bands aren’t backwards compatible like you mentioned in the video.
@6:33 nope here in the Netherlands the cellular Apple Watch is still not for sale. Cause providers still don’t want to deal with the shared phone number issue.

Still rocking my S4 Apple Watch, and I love it. One thing that would be great would be if they would let developers create and sell watch faces. They need a Watch Face Store. I'm always rocking Infograph Modular because I like having a collection of info, but I wish I could customize it a little further.
One thing to notice though, the iPad Pro is now in a weird spot with its A12Z. You're gonna pay much more for a slower processor in a "pro" device. They really need to update the pro models.
So I have a series 3 and I scratched up the screen ... it’s still usable but I wanna upgrade so my question is should I get the series 6 the se or just buy another series 3 ... I have the cellular version
I like fingerprint identification better than facial identification. Mainly because on my phone i can unlock it the moment that i grab the phone in my hand rather than doing the routine where i point it at my face and allow it to unlock. It seems like a very minor concern but when you're unlocking your phone between 20 and 30 times a day, it feels a lot more convenient.
I have a 44mm Series 5 Apple Watch and don’t have any problems with battery life. I have even worn the watch for more then one day and still had around 45% left on the battery. Fortunately, I haven’t had any battery life problems so far and I hope it doesn’t manifests itself later on!
I was Hyped about the new Air but after the event I found myself really hungry for 120hz display so I caved and got the 2020 11in pro. Hopefully mistakes have not been made.
My experience of battery life on the watch 5 has been good. I leave the display set to always on and use it to check messages, emails throughout the day. When it goes on charge at night it rarely has less than 60% battery life left - much better than I was expecting. I've been using it since early 2020. Love it. I'm nothing to do with Apple by the way and only recently moved over from Andriod.
Well, while I do agree most watch faces are either too busy or simplistic like you say, the infograph modular is really the perfect balance of fitting a number of useful items, including one large item (or complication?...not sure what it's called exactly) such as the weather in the middle. I've been using that one since day 1 with the first apple watch, and when we got the larger screens/smaller bezels, you could fit more items, and they're still very easy to see at a glance and/or quick launch with a tap.
I'd push back on sp02 not being useful for "healthy" people. It can be super useful for identifying sleep apnea which a ton of people who consider themselves otherwise "healthy" have. That's the main reason I'm purchasing the series 6
Sure do enjoy your content. Are you wearing a Jubilee Datejust in this video? I too enjoy watches. Most recently enjoying the White OP39. Do you know watch enthusiast Bruce Williams, also in the Wasatch area? Thanks! Randy-IL
One interesting and timely use of the O2 sensor is to prognosticate in COVID cases. Increasing O2 requirements, or desaturation on minimal exercise is an indicator for dexamethasone and hospital admission. Having patients being able to do this in the community vs coming in to hospital would help ease pressure some. It's a niche use, but a very real world application.
I use iPhones, macs, and ipads when it comes to apple, but for watches I use Garmin. Tracks all my workouts, great looking watch, long 7-14 day battery life with always on display, and some of the newer ones like the Fenix 6 have o2 sensors as well. The watch faces can show my steps, heart rate, date, time etc. all at once. I don't need to click into an app just to measure my heart rate or vie w my steps
... how are you going to skip mentioning they added USB-C. I want to know if the phone are going to do the same. If so, there could be a lot of Lightning cables that are gonna get thrown out in 1-2 years.
I’m definitely getting the Apple Watch SE. Quite a good deal with the S5 processor, not much closer than the S6. The lack of the spo2 sensor doesn’t bother me and the ecg is not that impressive as it only detects AFib for sure, which I know I don’t have. As for the always on display, it will just drain the battery more. So for a savings of $130, I would say it’s definitely the better buy. It’s still got everything.
the only change in the iPad 8 is the A12 and it still starts at 32GB... the new Air just got 100$ more expensive so now there's a huge price gap in the iPad lineup. 329$ then 399$ for the mini and now 200$ more if you want the new air...

The new band only support serie 4 and up from Apple website. Seems strange but the serie 4 band slot for locking is like .5mm bigger
What about the 42mm variant(Series 1)? It's pretty good.
Aren’t you going to need a power brick that has USB-c connection on the other side ti support fast charging?
I'm still rocking an S1 Apple Watch - I'm tempted by the SE but then again I'd want the most features for my money!
Tim Apple's all black outfit combined with that pose was funny AF
My experience of battery life on the watch 5 has been good. I leave the display set to always on and use it to check messages, emails throughout the day. When it goes on charge at night it rarely has less than 60% battery life left - much better than I was expecting. I've been using it since early 2020. Love it. I'm nothing to do with Apple by the way and only recently moved over from Andriod.
How do people drain their battery before end of the day? I've never had all my watches drain lol. I always have about 30% left 🤷🏽♂️
Hey just a heads up for future watch videos the S6 chipset is technically an SiP not SoC
Does this mean iPhone's will also get rid of face id for a full screen view display.
HIM: the 44 mm its too big
ALSO HIM: i cant read my watch faces 😭😭
I'd push back on sp02 not being useful for "healthy" people. It can be super useful for identifying sleep apnea which a ton of people who consider themselves otherwise "healthy" have. That's the main reason I'm purchasing the series 6
Sure do enjoy your content.
Are you wearing a Jubilee Datejust in this video? I too enjoy watches. Most recently enjoying the White OP39.
Do you know watch enthusiast Bruce Williams, also in the Wasatch area?
Thanks!

I never expected more than 20% performance improvement with the A14, I thought Apple was mostly going for efficiency this year?
Love the way you talked the truth about watch faces, watch 3 and SE!
Am I doing something wrong? My series 5 lasts 2 days easily with the always one display...
Despite Snazzy being an Apple (kind of) fanboy, I cant help watching his videos. Just so engaging!
Everyone else: RTX 3080
Quinn: AN APPLE EVENT HAPPENED
Oh No... Anyway...
... how are you going to skip mentioning they added USB-C. I want to know if the phone are going to do the same. If so, there could be a lot of Lightning cables that are gonna get thrown out in 1-2 years.
I'm in full hype mode for the October event🤩🤩🤩
I’m definitely getting the Apple Watch SE. Quite a good deal with the S5 processor, not much closer than the S6. The lack of the spo2 sensor doesn’t bother me and the ecg is not that impressive as it only detects AFib for sure, which I know I don’t have. As for the always on display, it will just drain the battery more. So for a savings of $130, I would say it’s definitely the better buy. It’s still got everything.
Also what is the iPad pro for? Isn't it running a upgraded A12.
the only change in the iPad 8 is the A12 and it still starts at 32GB... the new Air just got 100$ more expensive so now there's a huge price gap in the iPad lineup. 329$ then 399$ for the mini and now 200$ more if you want the new air...
My Apple Watch series 5 has pretty decent battery. I have AOD enable permanently and still have at least 40% battery end of the day - normally ~50-60%
