- Film on the role of a junior Royal Marines officer in an operational commando unit. The film looks at the standards required, including fitness, leadership, weapons handling and specialist skills such as landing craft drills. The wartime role of the Royal Marines, defending NATO's northern flank in Norway, is examined, as Marines land by landing craft and helicopter from the assault ship HMS Intrepid (L11). Soldiers are shown training in arctic conditions, the command and control elements of the exercise are examined, and at the end of the exercise the commandos depart by helicopter and landing craft for HMS Intrepid (L11)

Nice one. Sounds like John Humphrys narrating.
Thought the same! :)
I'll use this content next week to examplify basic tactical vocabulary for ESL guys at various levels. It's slow and clear and doesn't go into too much detail. Has its place in my collection of videos ^^
I actually remember this not long after it was released - I was a cadet back then and was at Lympstone on a training course. Seriously considered it.
Quite the mix of personal weapons, FN's aka SLR, Sterlings, M-16's and the SA-80's......they must of made this film during the transistion period when the British Armed Forces were phasing on the SLR's for the SA-80's.
Must be very early appearance of L85
They must have been first to get it
@@KRaikkonenSF We were, but it was after 1985.
If you have anything else that involves land warfare I'm taking it
After 1985 if they have SA80
