- Secretlab has upped the ante with their new MAGNUS Pro Sit-to-Stand Metal Desk. With many ergonomic desks in the market these days, offering a standard set of features including RGB, but few really stand out among the crowd.
The Secretlab MAGNUS Pro is easily one of the best height adjustable desks I have ever come across

I have been back and forth for a good 2 weeks, it's a lot of $$ for a desk. I have to say this video sold me finally. Secretlab, if you're reading these comments send him a chair. I don't think I'm the only person who watched this who finally decided to go with the desk. Right now my cart is at $1179 so I'm getting a few accessories also. Thanks so much for the great video my man, funny stuff and very informative!
Haha thanks man. If they do I’ll let you know I’d actually love to do a review on the new chair if I done one today it would be a bit disappointing as the faux leather is coming off mine at a rate of knots
this is the only video that actually helped me have a full originaly idea of how this desk is. thank you for keeping it real
Thanks it is a really nice desk
The video we never knew we needed thank you! I’m trying to decide on a new desk
Hope this has helped sway you one way or the other it’s now several months on and I still love this desk
Excellent review/breakdown thank you. Looking at one of these myself so be keen to see an update after few months of use please. Thanks again
Thanks, will do!
Thanks for taking the time to do this review! I receive my desk tomorrow. I can't wait!!
You will love it
@@ExpressITTechTips I finally received all the pieces to the desk lol. I'll let you when I've put it together. Most likely this weekend.
Can you tell me how long did you have to wait for the shipping status? I ordered the desk in February... still waiting..
@@johnwilliam8366 I also ordered my desk in February. My original delivery date was set for April 28th. It was a surprise to see it had shipped early. They should have given you a delivery status upon purchase.
@@ExpressITTechTips I love this desk!! Thanks to your video, the build was super easy.
Excellent, in depth review, thank you!
Subscribed in the hopes of seeing a follow up video later on, maybe a couple weeks down the lane?
Thanks for the sub! i will certainly do a short follow up on the desk, 5 days or so in and loving it so far
@@ExpressITTechTips that's great to hear! I'd be especially interested in hearing/ seeing if / how you manage to find mic arms, other brand monitor arms or lamps with clamps that can be mounted one way or another 🤔
This is great mate 😁
Thanks 😁
All the commentary jokes were funny as hell to me. Great review. I'm in the market for a xl desk with some sort of CM system. I going to build this one out and see what it cost me. I have a KVM from TESmart I just bought and it added totals 6 HDMI, two USB B to A cables plus the power. I want something that I can clean up my workstation a lot better
Thanks pal, can’t go wrong with this desk I’m thinking of getting a second one.
Great review! Thanks! Couple of questions about the monitor arms: do they allow you to rotate your monitor portrait style(in real-time, not by screwing the vesa mount at 90degrees permanently)? And would you trust them for heavier ultrawide (curved) models? Thanks!
You can absolutely turn them to portrait when you like I do that from time to time. Either the dual arm they recommend no more than 34 inches for monitors. However the two monitors I have are fairly heavy so I would guess it could take more. I was debating the single arm and the new 59 inch screen Samsung does
Best review of this product on RUclips. Well done! You convinced to buy it too! (Oh, and of course I subscribed!)
Thanks pal that means a lot best tell secret labs that I need a new chair 😂
Haha I pass the word along!@@ExpressITTechTips
Thanks for the review. I have a question about the monitor arms: each arm has 2 parts, does each part rotates 360 degrees independently of each other? Thank you
Hi there , Yes they can rotate the bottom ones cant rotate the full 360 degrees as they would collide however the second part can so you can have a variety of options
thanks. What I wanted to achieve is to have the screen a little more in the back, ideally at the gap between the desk and that metal sheet that covers the cables@@ExpressITTechTips
100% doable I sometimes Push mine back from time to time depending what im doing
With consideration to the cable tray (is it deep enough?), do you think there is enough room to use traditional monitor clamps? Or do you need to purchase the monitor stands specific to this desk.
I fear that the cable tray isn’t deep enough for the monitor clamps that tighten from the bottom. Also, do you think these can hold a 38” ultra wide? Thanks for any input
It’s deep enough to use some traditional mounts if needs be I have one for my key light and mic arm that I have just recently added I’ll measure it in the next few days and confirm the depth. But it will depend on the mount
The monitorarms can't hold the weight from the 38" monitors but I saw on Reddit that they are working on some more heavy duty arms..
@@minifar2552 I held off anyway…after doing extensive research I’ll probably be going with a Desk Haus setup eventually. The wobble is too much on these
@@minifar2552 I’d find it hard to put 2 38 inch monitors on this it would be seriously overkill it’s hard enough with my 2 32s
I clicked this video because it was the first result that didn't have a stupid clickbaity title or thumbnail.
Thanks it is hard as a youtuber to gain traction so I do understand why it happens
Yes! Thank you for not making a moronic face.
Hi you still liking the desk , also did you get the pc mount? cheer james from London .
Loving the desk, haven’t got the pc mount yet as every time I check it’s on back order. Will get it at some point whether it will handle my case though is a different matter
I do have 2 magnetic covers at the back of the right leg with quite a few cables passing through them and they don't fall down when i move the desk up and down.
Why it is happening with yours,do you use thick cables?
You can try to place the upper cover all the way up then the second one which goes underneath will stay attached with a little overhang.
This way the lower cover will stay firmly and won't fall,at least it works for me...
Hi there mate, mine aren't falling down what I was getting at is if you have your pc or cables going to the floor, it could only go at the top or it would fall down if you tried to put it lower on the legs as they obviously adjustable.
Can you tell me how long did you have to wait for the shipping status? I ordered the desk in February... still waiting..
Ok for me it was less than 5 days here in the UK I had been watching the desk fir a couple of months then the moment it come back in stock I hit order. I done my just before the easter Bank Holidays so they could have probably got it to me sooner about that. My advice would be reach out to secret labs their support is actually very good.
Hey nice Review
How is the wobbling on the desk? sitting and standing
Wanna buy one but heard alot of wobbling issue
Hi there, to be honest I’ve used 2 sit stand desks in my life one professionally and this one. Wobbling I only find happens at the very top and only if I apply some pressure to the direct front. I would imagine wobbling in peoples setups is caused by too much weight at the front or uneven surfaces. I honestly don’t get many problems. I even raise it with a good old cup of tea on it no problems
@@ExpressITTechTips tyx for that info
How's the wobbling on 1 mt and above of height? I know "standing" heights may wobble a bit but how much does this desktop wobbles?
Not to bad really you get a slight wobble but nothing that will cause anything to say fall off the desk and you raise or lower
@@ExpressITTechTips Sadly i just got to k now, they don't ship to my country :( i'll have to look for alternatives.
How did you get the leather smell to go away? It’s strong.
Haha goes away with time, mine doesn’t have that smell anymore which is a little disappointing I miss it 😂
What size monitors are those
Both 32 inches
It would bother me not having one monitor centered. Did you end up moving it a little to one side to center one monitor?
I didn’t actually I just move to one side I primarily work on the 4k one anyway and then have side parts on the right one. They do have a lot of movability though on these arms so might play around with them
By any chance are the discs on the feet adjustable?
I don’t believe so I’ll check today to confirm
@@ExpressITTechTips Thank you :)
@@Scattrick there fixed
@@ExpressITTechTips Oh damn, that's disappointing
@@Scattrick nothing levelling the floor or a coaster can’t fix 😂
Ciao, could I know the measures of the XL versione? Thks 😊
Length is 1790cm. Depth 80cm. Height obviously adjusts from 65cm to 125cm
@@ExpressITTechTips oh thks, very kind of u :)
Deskhaus review used a desk they didn't tighten the screws on.
Bet that didn't end well long term
I just saw that video. It seems sketch, but was making me 2nd guess my choice (I ahve not rodered yet, just watching videos before I do), so good to know, I had a wobbly cheap IKEA desk for a long time, and I hated it.
