I have seen some Russian lifters teaching people to reserve some angle in snatch deadlift, i.e. similar to the first problem that you mentioned. And I have also seen some Chinese coaches telling people to do snatches like the 2nd problem. They do double knee bend intentionally and extend straight up afterwards. Not sure which one right or wrong. Btw ur videos have been helping me a lot. Thank you for ur contribution. ;)
I'm not sure i am no way near a lifter but i think it has some relation with body proportions Long torso asians suit them the problematic early second pull style While long limbs westerns suite them this other style i guess
One of the best things i did as a giraffe weightlifter was slow down my first pull, almost Redon Manushi slow, and it helped my precision in the lifts tremendously.
I am struggling with locking out in full snatch. Have been trying to sit in a low squats fully locked out. This makes my hand get nearly paralysed for nearly a month. Any videos on how to work on that problem?
I have a question.. what happens when the load is too heavy and you tend to get to forward over the bar? is it wrong or its just normal when attempting PRs? I've seen some lifters tend to pull their back/scapulae+shoulders back much more in the extension of the second pull .... as you mentioned in the video thanks!! really helpful tutorial @zack telander
The video is super cool, thanks man, the shoulders to much in the front was super to see, the shoulders to much back or thorax to straight up was harder to see the problem for me, but I try to follow you strongly because I have your hight 6.4" but why more skinny so I need proper techniques 👍🤙🙏🙏
So do we want a straight vertical bar path? After recording my sets I noticed I pull the bar into my hip like 4-6" out of the initial pull line, which then bumps it out on extension. Should I be less aggressive with my back? Am noob, all my work is between bar and 125lbs
Tall snatches are the best thing I’ve found for forcing myself to aggressively pull under the bar with max speed. You literally cannot perform a tall snatch without doing so even with just the bar

Dude I hope you realize how much help these videos are, especially for people who don't have a coach but are trying to improve
Hands on the bar, feet under the bar, didn't get tight....lol that roast though.
Tried the hands on bar cue at the end, helped me PR finally after 7 years. Good stuff!
Dude I'm now definitely convinced that you're spying on my training session
Your point about "active hands" is not something to overlooked!
I believe I've been missing this--thank you.
Thanks Mr Giraffe, my full snatch has felt so much stronger while focusing on this for the last few days. Keep up the good content!
Best video you have made Zack. Seriously. Thank you.
Need this for the Clean please Coach
Think he did one on that
This series is great. It's a fantastic set of pointers for me to work on - I squat more than I power, but I still have a lot to do!
7 months late to this party, but thanks ZT - this is super useful
The one dislike is from aileen wu
Just watched the first 3min and i just learned so much!!! Thanks!!

I Power more than i full and bench press more than I squat? Is that a bad thing? Oh and curl more than I deadlift
Finally the answer I needed

What about if you can muscle snatch more than you can power or squat snatch?
