Currently coming from AF and trying to go army 153A. It’s a terrifying process. You feel like at any step they’ll reject you. Watching stuff like this keeps me motivated and hopefully in the near future we’ll see each other in the skies!
I am in the GA army national guard. I got selected to fly chinooks and just finished WOCS the day before thanksgiving. My WOBC date is Feb 10. Definitely subscribing to you guys for more info!
Any chance you’d be willing to share your process? I’m in Mississippi and looking into flying for the guard, but info is extremely skewed all over the place. Biggest problem is my age, and when I say “problem”, it’s only because I honestly think I’d end up VERY close to needing a waiver (if they even grant those on the aviation side). Anyway, any and all help is greatly appreciated!! Thanks a bunch, and congratulations!!!
@@skylerhorner8796 it’s going to depend on the state as far as the waiver. How bad they need pilot spots filled and how many people are actually attempting to apply for those slots. If I were you I would go to an aviation unit in your state and ask those questions. You would need a senior warrant officer LOR anyways so them putting a face to a name would increase your chances anyways
@@jalenheggs3422 not even sure any unit would be willing to meet with a civilian just to talk about an age waiver or an LOR, haha. A senior WO would definitely help, but they might not necessarily require it. I’ve got pilot friends in other branches who would be willing to write one (if that even makes a difference). I feel like the “it depends on the unit” statement is the most accurate thing about guard units in general. Some even have different age limits, so it gets meticulous. Therefore, if you’ve got some generic age info, or maybe even stories of other people who were granted waivers, that would help my hope at the very least, haha. Thanks again, brother
@@skylerhorner8796 so why do you want to become a pilot in the first place? Did you have an aviation mos?
@@jalenheggs3422 it would be the fulfillment of a lifelong dream, give me the chance to be a part of something much greater than myself, and help me continue to grow through the challenges I would face.
I was never in before, so I don’t have any MOS, but I have a pilot’s license, Bachelor’s degree, and other leadership roles I’ve been a part of.
Very informative and well made video!! Thanks for sharing. Thinking to go coast guard and fly SAR missions and disaster aid 😊😄
I enjoyed the video. You motivated me to find my old videos from the 80s in the Guard, flying dinosaurs, Hueys.
Nice… I got the pleasure to fly this big boy in DCS Simulator…
God bless our Nation’s war fighters. 👍🇺🇸🙏
I'm going to join up with the national guard at 33 year old. Gonna try to get in massaging a Blackhawk on the weekends.
this is cool, im looking into go to usna, and do naval helicopters.
Neat. I’m looking to go to USNA for Naval Aviation as well. Hopefully fixed but helicopters would be sweet too
Not fighters??
@@sammysainz5 high Gs dont sound fun, haha
Good luck bro! Apply to all of the academies, not just Navy; you’ll appreciate that later. Look at the USMMA as well. It’s a better deal in my opinion.
@@williamhospodar8702 Yea I’m planning on appying to USNA and USAFA. I’ve heard of the merchant marines but I havent really looked at what they do, I will now though!
Awesome flying there!😎👍🔥🤩🇺🇲
Was hoping to see SFC Brasch ... he's a damn good medic !
Oh the national guard, wow now we’re saved.
How do I get in touch with CW3 Shepard? I’m trying to follow in his exact, and I mean exact, footsteps. I’ll reach out on the global. Great video.
I’m not sure but he go from street to seat as NG? Or did he do it another way?
Mr. Usina! I see you!!! I wish I could be like you when I grow up!!!
Hello 👋I LOVE black hawk ❤️
Can you work as pilot in the National Coast Guard for so many years and then transfer to be an Active ARMY Pilot,Navy Pilot or AirForce Pilot? Also do you help with earthquake victims say in California? Thank you so much. I love flying so much.
I'm currently in National guard, Where in florida can I go get my flight physical?
I want to be WOC for the Florida National Guard as a Human resources tech. Is it possible to IST over there please. Let me know if there is anything I could do. Let me know if you need my contact info. Love your videos. man keep up the great content. I learned so much from you!!
It is possible to IST to any state. You will have to do some leg work before hand though. You will need to find a unit and get the paragraph and line number. And then work through your state to get released and Florida to take you in.
Прекрасное видео красивая машина и замечательные люди. Хочется пожелать им только учебных тревог и шикарных видов из окна🤙🇺🇸
We used to call them "guard bums". Glad to see the boondoggles are still here and nothing has changed.
Stop screaming, I'm scared too LOL thanks for the video....
Awesome video
I didn't know that Florida had HH-60M model's
Why do you guys have airforce personnel on board?
They brief us on the Weather and came along for the ride
@@floridaarmynationalguard I'm glad we have the Air Force to do the job of the weatherman.
SWOOOO
They are the Golf pros!
Can you go street to seat in the national guard? when I was active I took my sift and passed but now I'm in law enforcement. Would like to know if I can street to seat it or do I have to pick another mos and then put in a packet.
Occasionally Guard units offer street to seat spots but it's dependent on the state. Not at all common in most states though. Best bet would be to find the place(s) where you'd want to be stationed and give them a call, can't hurt to ask.
Leave the music out please.
Yea baby
You know if you all go to war I'm older but I could be a door gunner !lol!
Can i cash in my 1000 hours of flight sim hours, or do you prefer Kevin's 4 year liberal arts degree?
I thought I could apply to warrant officer with just a associates degree
To my knowledge, you can. There’s two routes to fly either the WO route or go through OCS with a bachelors
the marines automated a plane that flys destinations on autopilot i hope all that shit is automated properly its easy to create and people could take longer to fly themselves
Hi
i am going in to the air force this was a good vido to motivated me
Idk who picked that music for this and put it over the beginning of some BADASS DUDES in a bad ass video of them flying the black hawk but you put the corniest most underwhelming song you could ever pick over top of these badasses being filmed in a bad ass helicopter! Come on now! Next time put some BAD ASS MUSIC over the video or NONE AT ALL
The highlight of his day is he got free lunch from Captain D’s!
