    Definitely need a wire shock mount on that. Lots of small micro vibrations

      +AVStarFilms Chapman has a couple options for vibration mounts and stab heads, maybe next time we will try them out. I want to put a Movi Pro or Movi XL up there too

      Yeah I found a few too. I already thought of solution designs through this video too

    It took me a while to wrap my head around everything that was happening - there were 4 people operating: 1 jib/boom swinger, 1 pickle twiddler to extend/retract the boom, 1 head operator to pan/tilt the head and 1 person pulling focus.

    Can't beat using the wheels. I find it very adictive! Good video.

    • @CinematographyDatabase
      @CinematographyDatabase  7 лет назад

      +Mark Wiggins wheels are the only way 🙌 Unless you are flying or driving in a way that makes joy sticks better 😂

    • @markwigginsDOP
      @markwigginsDOP 7 лет назад

      Hate joysticks. Also tried using a mimic once with a Movi. Hated it. Once you've mastered the wheels there's no alternative really.

    • @CinematographyDatabase
      @CinematographyDatabase  7 лет назад +1

      +Mark Wiggins I've heard in persuit cars or helicopters when the g force is high, it makes it hard to keep your hands steady on the wheels. Compared to holding the joystick console in your lap. But I agree, I want wheels whenever it's an option

      Never operated in a high G-force environment so I'll bear that in mind if I ever do. I have my Mini-Worrall set up in the Living Room. Have hours of fun!

    What's the third wheel for the geared head?

    • @josueflores6152
      @josueflores6152 7 лет назад +1

      The third wheel is for the Dutch (roll) axis. If you look at the remote head in the video it is a 2 axis head so the third wheel is inactive. The way you can tell if its a 2 or 3 axis on this particular remote head is by looking at the bottom plate where they place the camera. If its just flat like how it is in the video it has 2 axes to turn the camera BUT, its is rounded like a "U" it has 3 axes to point the camera.

  • @aceofspades627
    @aceofspades627 7 лет назад +2

    The setup in "traditional geared-head mode" seems odd to me. It would make more sense in my mind if the pan and tilt wheels were swapped so that spinning the middle wheel left or right would correspond to the camera panning left or right and spinning the left wheel away or towards you would correspond to the camera tilting down or up.

    • @CinematographyDatabase
      @CinematographyDatabase  7 лет назад +1

      +David Hui with a remote head you can do change it. But the traditional geared heads are setup this exact way

    What is the difference between Technocrane and Telescopic crane?

    • @CinematographyDatabase
      @CinematographyDatabase  7 лет назад +5

      +kuba Sta Telescopic Crane is a class of cranes. Technocrane SRO is a brand that makes Telescopic Cranes. Chapman's Telescopic Cranes are called Hydrascopes and Miniscopes. There is also a Movie Bird, Scorpio, and Louma.
