I generally don't teach Dig to any Pokémon other than Paras in my runs, because a combination of a two-turn move and muscle memory for using Dig with Paras means that my runs are slower on average when teaching Dig to the challenge Pokémon.
As I explained in the voiceover, I choked at Red. I was not playing at my best, and didn't see the obvious strategy. If you don't do challenge runs often, then Dig is a good option as a move, but when you've done several hundred, muscle memory for the field move has to take priority over a two-turn move.
Thanks, Jeremy! I'm glad you've learned some stuff from me - whenever I discover or find out something new, I always like to share it, as it could be helpful for other people to know, too.
I hope its called deez nuts Edit: This run is going to be evil without the badge boost glitch. You also know a pokemon is bad when the reset counter is higher than the level counter
Question (I may have asked this a long time ago) did you adjust the times of older pokemon to accomodate for not stopping the timer when catching HM friends?
I completely forgot to re-rank the others, but I think I like their original times at this point, we're doing them all as redo streams eventually, and the ruleset is consistent on the redo runs.
I feel like Rollout is almost always surprisingly good in these kinds of speedruns. Though, with Rhydon's crazy Attack stat, it might not make much of a difference, since Return one-shots nearly everything anyway.
Liking and commenting for the algo. When I was a kid playing Pokémon I never understood the Pokémon stats and I thought pressing the A button really quickly helped your Pokémon move first 😂
I don't begrudge you using one-hit ko moves when you've got a moveset this bad to deal with. Maybe you could also incorporate egg moves in the future. I'd be interested to see how well Rhydon could do with rock slide
We're absolutely giving Rhydon an egg-move redo, it's one of the stream series we have on the channel, and it's going to be a LOT better with early-game STAB.
Maybe they change the conditions for horn drill and other one hit knockout moves but in Gen 1 one one hit knockout moves like that you had out speed or it would never hit I wonder if that was changed in gen 2. One tactic that a lot of speedrunners do is they will get an ax attack and apply it beforehand and makes it so that horn drill never misses I know you don't use items but I do find it interesting and a unique tactic
