Gotta give it to Hacksaw...Never says anything bad about anyone, even people he didn't like. He stays away from the gossip and rumors, and answers questions in a way that puts controversy to bed.

Hacksaw is a great and in the 90s til today I love doing that hacksaw yell. Every time a 2x4 is within 20yds.

3:53 I became more of a fan of John once when I saw this interview he did outside wrestling where he still talked like a heel, but spoke about wrestling from a strategic, tactical sort of way, but still remaining personable and pleasant with the person talking to him. I considered it admirable how he was able to establish that kind of balance in the interview. For the first time, I felt a real sense of loss in regards to his passing, well over 25 years after it actually happened. :(

My then g/f and I met him and he is so cool! They exchanged stories about beating cancer. My g/f broke down crying then the two of them were crying on each others shoulders.

@@duranduran6456 --- Patty beat it once but it came back and she passed away. Jim had it twice and he beat it both times.

Heard that one of the stories why Andre did not like Big John Studd is because Big John Studd insisted on stepping over the top rope and that was Andre's gimmick.
That's right. No respect.
When Warrior gave the wine to Andre, that pissed off Rick Rude who wondered why he had never had any kind of thanks for all he had done for Warrior. I believe that ended up with Rude beating up Warrior in the locker room.
Allegedly it was a single slap because Warrior had been very stiff in the ring with Rude
Andre didn't like John Studd disobeying him when Andre told John to NOT step over the top rope since that's Andre's gimmick.
I think that gimmick should be for John too since he's a stud too (no pun).
That's one story. Who knows if it's true.

Bobby Heenan tells a story where Andre did not like Ultimate Warrior because Ultimate Warrior hit Andre full force in a match and he did it again in a second match until Andre put his fist out and then Ultimate warriors stopped hitting Andre hard after that! The interview is on RUclips.
Yes I've seen that interview. Andre would give Warrior a receipt when warrior hit him hard, and then when Warrior stopped hitting Andre hard, Andre shouted at Heenan 'HE'S LEARNINNNNGGG'.... Now I have that saying in my head whenever I pick up a new skill or talent but in Andre's voice 😂
Hacksaw is the first wrestling star i ever saw in a little high school gym in the 80s. He came out with a 2x4 and used it on his opponent. One of my best childhood memories...
Coming out with a hacksaw would not have the same effect. His stage name should have been Jim 2x4 Duggan.

It is understandable Andre disliking Savage,, a troubled individual. With Stud though, stepping over the top rope seems rather trivial. Andre was too sensitive.
It does seem rather trivial, but I think it was equally trivial for Big John to just make the decision not do it.

Yeah Andre's daughter said he didn't like Randy because Randy used drugs😂😂 Im fairly sure Andre's good buddy Hogan used them as well.

And the story goes with Randy Savage that Andre did not like how he treated Elizabeth and Andre did not like that Savage used touch baby oil which made him slippery.

Big John Studd was a huge man 6/10 but next to Andre The Giant he looked like say a average big guy . Studd was a little shorter but it's the thickness of the giant in a battle royal with the NFL players who thought they were big they looked small next to Studd then when the giant came In the ring the frig from the Bears looked like a little kid but studd was a true giant and should get more respect.

Funny thing, Hacksaw Jim won the king gimmick from King Tonga. How about that?! Doink beat Bret on a house show, yes sir. Yes indeed. Hulk fought Warlord. Flair fought Austin in WCW. Steve Borden nixed the WCW push of Raven. Scotty would complain to Bischoff about it for, seemingly, hours. Sting overheard and chased Scotty out the building. Yes, he did.
Andre and Studd were actually friends. I wish Duggan and all the other old timers would drop kayfabe

Big John Studd stepped over the ropes entering the ring, "Macho Man" Randy Savage was acting insecure and jealous, always watching Elizabeth. Andre didn't like that.

Tracy Smoothers said big show was big but not even close to Andrea The Giant I saw him at The Rosemont and I have seen a man that big yes some may be taller for mass no way his head is like a big mans torso

That's why I couldn't stand the ultimate warrior . He didn't have anything nice to say about anyone
Warrior is hated on by all those wrestlers he stepped over to get to the top. Anytime i hear about a ted dibiase or whoever the jealously is off the charts.
