I don’t know who’s saying 4 isn’t good; it’s great! On par with the rest of the series. Each one stands on its own; each one makes every other one stronger.
She may confuse it with the Die Hard franchise... though I personally think Die Hard 4 is still a very enjoyable entertainment, it definitely is a divisive episode amongst the fans. But indeed, I don't heard/read about many Lethal Weapon fans that dislike the 4th
I think most people just think it’s ok. That’s certainly my opinion at least and some others I have spoken to. I think the first two are classics and the others fine. Though 4 is way better than 3 mostly because jet li is a way better villain than Stuart Wilson was in this film even though usually he’s a great bad guy in other films
Watching the boat scene after my time in the Army had tears flowing, because I remember when my best friend left the military and I was suddenly alone. We had the same argument...literally yelling at each other that he was moving on and I didn't know how to live without us.
I hear you. At the end of my time was in command of a specialist unit of 15 for my last 3 years. Got completely choked up at my leaving do trying to give a speech. The guys knew how much it meant to me that I was leaving them, my second family.
My favourite part is in the boat when Riggs opens up to Murtaugh about his retirement, they became family at that point...and of course the joke about Sgt. Cole from traffic 😆
@@jakester455 Well, you are entitled to your opinion. I think Lethal Weapon is maybe the movie series holding up the most over all entries. The second is the best.
The first two are clearly the best. I'd put LW2 slightly above the first because it perfectly balanced action, drama, and humor, although I liked how dark Riggs was in the first one. LW3 was good, but I always felt the villain was an afterthought and not particularly intimidating, plus there was no evil henchman like the first two with Gary Busey and Derrick O' Connor. Plus there were a tad too many subplots. LW4 was good too but like LW3 it had too many subplots, Chris Rock didn't add much and Joe Pesci was just annoying. Jet Li was the best thing about it.
I was actually thinking as I was watching this, this is a pretty perfect series. I think all of the original cast is the same throughout the series and they follow a pretty consistent story arc for the characters. And they’re all fun, zany, heartfelt, and action-packed in their own way 🙂 Number 4 included. I hope you like it too ☺️
@@jayshupp5971 For me it wasn't so much Chris Rock, but Jet Li character being so skilled in the movie context. It doesnt seem logical for Rigg's and Murtaugh to beat him.
Fun fact Carrie Fisher was an uncredited script doctor for the movie she rewrote most of the romantic scenes involving Riggs & Lorna. There is actually a post credit scene for the movie i don't if you saw it? And Lethal Weapon 4 is awesome btw
It brings him full circle. He lost his wife and became depressed, suicidal and borderline psychotic, got paired with Murtagh, someone who seemed to actually give a damn about him, even to the point of inviting Riggs to his house. He had found somewhere he belonged, and that was in danger of being turned upside down with Roger retiring and selling the house, and then drowning his sorrows because he killed a kid… putting him in a similar place that Riggs was in (depressed and drinking the pain away), although not to the same degree.
Who said part 4 wasn't good? The entire series is amazing and the fact it builds on top of one another makes it one of the best franchises out there. The films for me ranks: 3,2,4,1 but also they're all a package deal to get the FULL story.
"Who said part 4 wasn't good?" Is exactly what I came to post haha. It's great! Plus there supposedly making another Lethal Weapon now, so she has to watch 4 for sure.
That locker scene always reminds me of my late grandfather. When he was a sheriff's deputy he covered for one of the new guys the same way! This young man had just bought a new house and had a wife at home expecting their first child. He had a negligent discharge and accidentally shot Grandpa IN THE FOOT! Concerned the guy could loose his job, my grandfather told everyone he'd accidentally shot himself. Appropriately chagrined, the young man went on to have, as far as I know, a successful and safe career thereafter and raise a happy family. Unrelated, Grandpa also fell off his tractor and broke his leg when he was in his 60's. There was no one around, so he splinted it with branches off the trees he was clearing, hobbled back to his truck, and drove back into town to visit the ER. Heck of a man. I miss him! Hope your husband recovers quickly! Thanks for sharing with us!
Rene Russo and Mel Gibson were in another great 90s thriller called Ransom. It's a pretty good movie with lots of twists and turns, so if you like them in this you should check it out! Another good one with Mel Gibson and Julia Roberts is called Conspiracy Theory. The 90s had some really fun movies and I watched them all because I lived in a blink and you miss it town of 400 people. There wasn't much more than a gas station and a diner, but we did have a movie store.
Ransom is a friggin GREAT movie. Gary Sinise gives a hell of a performance too. I loved that movie back then and still do. Payback is pretty good too, but I personally definitely prefer Ransom. Conspiracy Theory was another really good Mel Gibson movie from that era too.
@@michelle6337 You're welcome. Besides you don't have to point out that my opinion was subjective, that's pretty much implied in the word opinion. Like they do in newspapers. You have news - Facts. And then you have opinion pieces.
I love the opening scene, and it may be my favorite scene in the series because it perfectly encapsulates Riggs and Murtaugh's dynamic. And yes, they actually blew up a whole building for that scene. They searched out buildings that were set for demolition, and they found a municipal building in Orlando and filmed its demolition for the movie.
I love these movies. I love how their relationships have grown beyond friendship to where they're family. Riggs has finally fallen in love with someone who is perfect for him and who is able to survive the kinds of cayotic messes they get themselves into. Riggs has come a long way emotionally since that first movie. There's only one Lethal Weapon movie left.
I like that Mel is going to direct the 5th one. After Donner’s passing he is frankly the only man I would trust to do a 5th movie justice. With the sad conclusions of Indiana Jones and others in recent years I hope this film stays true to the heart of Lethal Weapon and brings back the whole family one last time for a heartfelt sendoff.
It's amazing how these movies can be so funny and so touching at the same time. Roger's reaction when he realizes he shot his son's friend is heart-breaking. Probably someone who played at his house as a child. Then the talk on the boat! They're good, fun movies to watch, but the heart is what makes them special.
An underrated Mel Gibson comedy movie that doesn't get mentioned these days is *Bird On A Wire.* Also has Goldie Hawn. Would be a gr8 one for you and Carly to do together.
One really underrated movie with Mel Gibson as the lead in a romance/thriller is “Tequila Sunrise” - also featuring Michelle Pfeiffer, Kurt Russel, and Raul Julia. Written and directed by Robert Towne, who wrote “Chinatown.” This entry has the best credits songs of the series - two Eric Clapton collaborations: “It’s Probably Me” with Sting at the beginning, “Runaway Train” with Elton John at the end.
4 is great. Possibly one of the few franchises where every single movie is spot on. And for me they just go right in sequential order. All are great but build upon each other then wraps up nicely. With that being said the first is best for me because it kicked it all off!!!!!
#4, is something you will love, b/c it maintains the family-partner aspect, the villain is mostly irrelevant by the end, bc at the end of the day, It’s what you’re fighting to get back to, not that Antagonist. Richard Donner-Perfect director, in this series, he also did Goonies & Superman.
Lethal Weapon 4 is great as well. Ranking them, I think 4 is my favorite. Anyway, they actually imploded that building in the beginning of 3 and destroyed that subdivision in the end if I remember correctly. They heard about the building demo and were able to use it for production value. Also, that subdivision company went bankrupt, so they destroyed the unfinished subdivision for the movie, lol.
Riggs and Murtagh really were terrible friends if we're being honest. Saving his life doesn't give them the right to put him through so much BS. SPOILER: The part where Riggs just throws his gun overboard alone had me pissed off from the start. I know he wouldn't have won the fight, but Leo would have been 100% justified if he threw a punch imho. Any "friend" of mine does that and I'm absolutely gonna lose it. That was likely minimum $500 cash Riggs just tossed into the ocean.
Yes. Ransom is my second favorite Mel Gibson film, after The Patriot. In my opinion, it’s his absolute best performance. No one attack me in the comments. I realize everyone will disagree and say his best performance is Braveheart, but I still have not seen it. As far as what I have seen, Ransom is his best performance. The Patriot is a close second. But Ransom is such an amazing film; I actually just watched it a couple days ago, for the 100th time. 😇
I absolutely love #4 - it's an amazing conclusion to the series, with all the amazing hallmarks of the franchise, and that perfect blend of heart, comedy and action that you were talking about. gotta watch it, can't wait to see your reaction to it. This one was fabulous, as always. ❤
Hey Cassie, another Great Reaction but I also wanna give "Props" to Your Editors; most Reactions tend to cut this one so short that they have to skip a lot of My Favorite parts...but Thankfully, Y'all didn't.👍 Thanks again, and looking forward to the 4th...
Do not listen to the haters on Lethal Weapon 4! It is the best one of the 4. Wraps up the franchise perfectly, as well as has the best fight scene in the entire franchise. Love everything about it
"A special effect without a story is a pretty boring thing" is a famous quote from George Lucas. Without characters and a compelling narrative its just blinking lights. The same thing absolutely applies to action. without a friendship, love or meaning at its core, then its just senseless killing and nobody enjoys that. The Lethal Weapon franchise perfectly incapsulates this understanding, yes there is action, Kung Fu, killing and cheesy jokes but at the heart of it is the story of a deep partnership between very different people. One that struggles with getting older and one who struggles with loss. The action would be nothing without the deeper meaning and the bond between Riggs and Murtaugh. Leathal Weapon is the best buddy cop franchise ever in my opinion.
Fabulous, and very true. It's my opinion that the truth in that George Lucas quote is the reason I can never care about any of Michael Bay's movies, it's all flash bangs and explosions, endless car chases and gun fights. But I've never found a movie of his with characters I cared about, or plot that intrigued me or endeared me to it. 🤷♀
@@ljbimoore I completely agree. Bayham just does nothing for me atleast, all though i can understand the appeal in something like the Transformers movies, they just dont appeal to me personally for that same reason. This is also why i had a special love for Doctor Who. They were "famous" for having very poor CGI and special effects because they had a low budget but used to have really fantastic stories. Everyone could see how bad and unrealistic the aliens or monsters looked in that show but it didnt matter because the story outweighed that. I rather take a bad, cheap looking special effect in a fantastic story, than a crisp and clean effect in a empty story. The story and characters always need to come first!
@@johantolli372 agreed!! The same goes for me in movies like the neverending story, and tv shows like Buffy. The special effects can be pretty cheesy but the stories are excellent. Yeah, I know there is a lot of nostalgia attached to the transformer movies for some people, and I get that. But it just not for me. I've only watched the new DW (9, 10, AND 11 Doctors) and a few of the older classic DW. I agree the stories are fabulous and very often thought provoking. 😊 I'm so excited 10 is coming back! David Tennant is my doctor for life! 😁 I gotta catch up though, I'm so far behind. 😊
@@ljbimoore I was mostly talking a about NewWho also. It was David Tennants lower budgeted run that gave the show such a new resurgance, that they could increase the budget and go much bigger and better with Matt Smith. Tennants episodes are almost infamous now for having terrible effects but also having the best and most beloved stories. I have seen some of the older and highly rated episodes but it was the revival in 2005 that made me a fan too! Im also very much looking forward to Tennants return and the return of the old show runner Russel T Davis, who ran and wrote the show during Tennents era. The combination of both of their returns could be something really great! I think its definitely worth to watch everything new to catch up in time for 10's return, just so you are up to date. But for me there was a drop in quality after Matt Smith left. it was absolutely still enjoyable but some of the magic of the show felt lost. Some of that magic which im hoping will return with David Tennant!
@@johantolli372 Ive heard similar things from other fans of the show, that after Matt Smith, it lost a bit. And I did watch the first couple episodes of Peter Capaldi's Doctor, and I must admit I wasn't really a fan. But I've also heard that his portrayal of the Doctor grows and evolves, so I'm more than willing to give him the time. 😊 Yes, the combo of DT and Russel T Davies has great potential to bring back the magic! Can't wait! ❤️
I dunno who said the 4th one isn't good, but in my opinion this is a series that got better with each instalment. The first one was really good, and each following one just builds on top of it perfectly. Also, this one had a post-credits scene at the end you might have missed.
Fun Fact: Bill Frederick, the Mayor of Orlando, Florida, is the policeman who says "Bravo" to Murtaugh and Riggs after the explosion of the building in the opening scene, which was the old Orlando City Hall. Also, during the scene where Riggs and Lorna are comparing scars, many of Riggs' were given to him during the events of "Lethal Weapon 2" (1989), specifically the gun shots in his lung and the knife wound in the back of his leg.
That's something I've had fun with on this movie since it came out. I watched the implosion of the old city hall and the one in the end credit scene both live. For the one in Orlando, I had to stay up until about 1:30 am. The other one which I think was an old hotel in St Petersburg happened on a Saturday, late morning and I just caught it flipping through channels. Pretty cool to see them both on the big screen the following year.
@@kevinschwabe4201 I heard it was there but I had to work that night and didn't want to drive right after work. I was living up around Jacksonville at the time.
@@dmichael1172 That would have been pretty cool to see in person. The one thing that was fun watching it on tv, was the Channel 6 being so surprised at the blast that she exclaimed "damn". Always wondered if she got in trouble for that
@@kevinschwabe4201 back in those times probably. I just wish I could've gone to that but like I said I was 3 hours away and had to work so unfortunately missed it.
Part 4 is worth the watch. Each movie touches on real-world concerns. Drugs, government abuse of power, gun violence, human trafficking, and yeah, with a twist of comedy/action/love/family values, every movie works. I'm a fan of Chris Rock and Jet Li as well.
I don't know who said 4 isn't good. It's pretty consistent with the rest of the series. I really think of the movies as one long storyline or a mini series. I mean it's different cases each time, but they all as far as the characters go connect perfectly with 4 being a perfect final chapter.
And its not a weak warm up just like so many other sequels, its a complete different story with a superb Jet Li as Badass...fun fact: The role was first offered to Jackie Chan but he dont want to play a villain.
@@drhkleinert8241 There is no way that Jackie would be able to pull that off. I see Jackie as a funny action guy. I can Jet Li or Chow Yun-fat but no way when it comes to Jackie.
@@mikef2811 Yeah Jackie Chan is great at what he does, but Jet Li was truly scary in that role. I don't think Jackie would have made me take him as a serious threat.
You should have watched until the end of the credits. If you like Mel Gibson, watch Tequila Sunrise. Mel did great as a romantic lead in it. He was also great in Hamlet--a very versatile actor.
Can’t wait for you to watch LW4! Might not be the best of them all but has some of the most exciting action sequences, some of the funniest moments and it without doubt produced the most tears! A perfect ending to a great franchise
4 is what it should of been… a natural progression of the characters. As a life long fan of the series I think it’s a completely enjoyable addition because in the end it’s about spending time with these characters you’ve grown to love.
I like this one as much as I liked the original actually. They decreased the drama a little and added even more comedy, which worked really well. Adding Rene Russo to the cast was an excellent decision too, her character had great chemistry with Riggs.
The score was composed by the late Michael Kamen. The saxophone is performed by David Sanborn while the guitar is Eric Clapton. You're probably familiar with Sanborn's sax on many Rock sessions like the Eagles, Pure Prairie League. James Taylor and Linda Ronstadt. Kamen you may remember from the Metallica album "S&M"
Agreed! I grew up watching Jet Li so I was really excited that he finally came to Hollywood. Unfortunately, his HK movies were better than his Hollywood movies.
The sax heard in every Lethal Weapon movie, is performed by jazz legend David Sanborn. His distinctive style of saxophone playing can also be heard in another Mel Gibson movie Tequila Sunrise, and the Bill Murray Christmas movie Scrooged (where he also makes a brief cameo with fellow jazz legends Miles Davis, Paul Shaffer, and Larry Carlton, as a group of street musicians.) ...and the fourth Lethal Weapon movie is definitely worth watching, and it does a great job of wrapping up the franchise!
Such warm memories of seeing this with my dad during the summer, at our favourite theater. I think this was one of the last films we saw before the theater closed forever. Happy memories.
It's funny, the other day I was thinking 'did Cassie ever get around to the rest of the Lethal Weapon movies' and here you are! Glad you enjoyed this one, don't be put off by the naysayers about the fourth one, personally it's my least favourite but there's plenty of the stuff you always enjoy with these films. Hope Mr PIB feels better soon!
Lethal weapon 4 is fantastic. my personal ranking of the movies is 2, 1, 4, 3... but if i were to grade them they'd be 2 (A), 1(A-), 4(A-) and 3 (B+), simply put there isn't a bad lethal weapon movie.
I will say this. I loved this movie so much. One of my favorite aspects is how Murtaugh continued to try to get Riggs to stop smoking. The boat scene is one of the best emptional scenes in movie history. It was the pinnacle of buddy cop movies and i loved it
Hey Cassie, fun fact, in the early 1960's Joe Pesci played guitar in the band Joey Dee and the Starliters, who had a big hit with The Peppermint Twist, and later in 1965 before he became famous, Jimmy Hendrix also played for them. They weren't in the band at the same time though but it's an interesting connection.
There's absolutely no reason in this world why the 4th film should be good but i'm not exaggerating, it's just as good as the rest, and somehow delivers even more on emotional stakes while still being funny and having incredible action. It came out during the rise of Asian martial arts action in Hollywood coming out the same year as Rush Hour and marks Jet Li's American debut, he'd never played a villain before this film but he's absolutely amazing in the role, you can feel the intimidation in everyone around him, i worried that Mel and Danny wouldn't be able to keep up with him but he somehow elevates everyone elses performance without slowing down, something i think many martial artists would struggle with. It's not become a big talking point yet but i guess there's a fair bit of racism in these 90's American/Asian mixed films, i think what's holding the arguments back is that Asia is generally very proud of the spread of their martial arts and actors around the world in whatever form, comedy has been a big part of martial arts movies for a long time, but there's definitely some choices during this time that might not fly today, it was the 90's :P.
Cassie, I remember back in the day I heard that Lethal Weapon 3 was being filmed in the desert at a abandoned apartment complex outside of Los Angeles. Apparently, they ran out of money. Something like that. Anyway, all of those started-but-not-finished apartment buildings had been sitting for more than a few years, at least. The production company bought everything and burned, shot up, crashed and exploded everything to their heart's content. And it was pretty cold out there too.
I can NOT believe someone out there said that Part 4 was not good. It's an AMAZING film. It's one of the BEST of the bunch...definitely the best sequel.
Three is my favorite of the franchise. I think the addition of Lorna makes the whole thing feel like a weird family, Leo included. Fourth might (imo) not be the best, but still lives up to the level of the franchise and it is worth watching.
Now that you seen the first 3 Lethal Weapon movie. You should see Loaded Weapon which is a spoof movie about the first 3 movies and it stars Samuel Jackson in one of his early roles and Emilio Estevez (Fyi if you did not know he was in the Breakfast Club and the first Mission Impossible movie and he is also in real life brother of Charlie Sheen and son if Martin Sheen from West Wing). Also other great Rene Rosso movie are Ransom (With Mel Gibson), Outbreak and The Thomas Crown Affair
Cassie, you are simply adorable and spot on with your comments and antics with your reaction to this movie. You enrich an already quite funny movie and make it even more fun and pleasurable! 🤣🌞
Favorite line of the whole film Martin to Rog, who is going through it on the boat. “You’re The only family I’ve got! I have 3 Beautiful kids, I love them and they’re Yours!” It feels so honest and true an is the heart, of the entire series. In fact, #4’s final line says it all. 🙂
OMG! I can't believe I never noticed this before, but... that main bad guy... it's RAFAEL MONTERO from "The Mask of Zorro". 😳 I could be wrong, but it sure to bloody heck seems like the same guy! I only noticed by his voice @19:40 or so. Correct me if I'm wrong, maybe I am. Great actor, btw.
The 90s action I remember top of my head: The long kiss goodnight Assassins Desperado Broken Arrow Cliffhanger Blown away Timecop And pretty much everything else from Stallone, schwarzenegger, Van-Damme, seagal and snipes.
The building that collapses at the beginning of the film is a real one. The city of Orlando (Florida) asked the production team if they wanted to film the destruction and the footage was added to the script. The sequence taking place during a hockey game was filmed during a real NHL game, between two periods. I remember they were talking about it on the TV news. Entertainment Tonight did a piece on it at the times and I recorded it on VHS. Actors played the roles of hockey players and the intermission between the 2 periods lasted a bit longer than usual...
My best wishes for Colton, and you and the family Cassie. I really hope everything is fine, and we'll have him back in the live premieres making all of the dad jokes!!!! It is always such a pleasure hanging out with you guys and the community.
27:08 Right here, Leo reminds me of a pissed off chihuahua. He absolutely makes these movie perfection. He’s like the cherry on top. And I doubt you’ll believe me but the 4th one is an absolute gift to fans. Gotta do it soon. 👍🏼 yeah?
The first Lethal Weapon is my favorite because I love the story and Mel was so good in that film. I actually love all 4 movies. You said a lot of people didn’t like the 4th one but it’s good as the other ones imo
The building that was blown up early in the film was the City Hall building in Orlando, FL. It was set for destruction so they let the film crew film in the building and then film the demolition. My oldest sister worked for the City of Orlando, and she still does. She was still in the old building on the day that Gibson and Glover were walked through the building. She said that Danny Glover was very friendly, and talked and shook hands with everyone. Gibson would not and stayed well away from the City Hall staff.
3 might not be the best one. But I think it’s the funniest. All the actors /characters bounce off each other so well. Whoever told you lethal weapon 4 was not good. That’s not true at all. If you loved 1-3 you will love 4. It fits nicely in there and Wraps everything up nicely.
Good action flick in the series. Joe Pesci was funny as usual. Mel and Danny have great chemistry and I say that a lot for these films lol. But it's true. Nice reaction Cassie.

Riggs' rant on the boat about how much Murtaugh and his family mean to him is one of my favorite scenes in the entire franchise.
Absolutely, shows the heart this franchise always had.
Cassie's instant fascination with the fictional hockey game is one of the most Canadian 🍁things I've seen from her! 🤣
Who said part 4 wasn't good? The entire series is amazing and the fact it builds on top of one another makes it one of the best franchises out there.
The films for me ranks: 3,2,4,1 but also they're all a package deal to get the FULL story.
Loool, 1 is considered in general to be the best of the series and you have it last? What a joke.
"Who said part 4 wasn't good?" Is exactly what I came to post haha. It's great!
Plus there supposedly making another Lethal Weapon now, so she has to watch 4 for sure.
My ranking is close to yours, 2, 3, 4, 1. I agree alll of the films build on each other.
1, 4, 2, 3
Number 4 is a blast!
I love how much Cass loves these movies. Her reaction every time Leo is on screen is so fun
4 is great and totally worth the watch. Introduced the U.S. to the awesomeness of Jet Li. Can't wait to see your reaction to it.
And how about Uncle Benny?
"It's "flied lice'. You plick!"
Payback is better
Ransom is a friggin GREAT movie. Gary Sinise gives a hell of a performance too. I loved that movie back then and still do. Payback is pretty good too, but I personally definitely prefer Ransom. Conspiracy Theory was another really good Mel Gibson movie from that era too.
@@simonfrederiksen104 Cool, thanks for providing your completely unsolicited subjective opinion.
@@michelle6337 You're welcome. Besides you don't have to point out that my opinion was subjective, that's pretty much implied in the word opinion. Like they do in newspapers. You have news - Facts. And then you have opinion pieces.
Let's not forget Bird on a Wire.
Lethal Weapon 4 is awesome. One of the few series where all the movies are top tier.
You must watch number 4. Probably the best of the series and it wraps up perfectly.
For complete the whole series - I think exactly
I like number 4 but calling it the best is kind of a stretch. Part 5 is the best.
Came here to say this
Agreed the 4th one is the best.
@@AFMountaineer20005 hasn't even come out yet, has it?
Don't forget there's a fifth Lethal Weapon film being worked on.
@@Deined true and when it comes out then I'll count it with the rest of them. Currently though there's only four of them that we can currently watch.
Yup. They would 100% like that one.
Filmed where i live, Victoria, BC.
bird on a wire is great
@@WastedPoAgreed. Action, comedy, and of course and most importantly: a love story.
*That movie is adequately rated.*
4 is by far my favorite. It was the perfect send off for the franchise.
One really underrated movie with Mel Gibson as the lead in a romance/thriller is “Tequila Sunrise” - also featuring Michelle Pfeiffer, Kurt Russel, and Raul Julia. Written and directed by Robert Towne, who wrote “Chinatown.”
This entry has the best credits songs of the series - two Eric Clapton collaborations: “It’s Probably Me” with Sting at the beginning, “Runaway Train” with Elton John at the end.
I gotta wonder what her reaction would be if she saw Payback
Tequila Sunrise was thoroughly enjoyable
Ransom is another great Mel movie that is overlooked
I preferred Bird On A Wire (with Goldie Hawn) to Tequila Sunrise. As an action comedy it was closer to the Lethal Weapon movies.
Eric Clapton's guitar is featured throughout all of the Lethal Weapon films along with David Sanborn's saxophone.
The villian is anything BUT irrelevant. It introduced superstar Jet Li to the US. And his villain was hard to kill. Very hard.
@@kenjisparks true, but by the end of the film, there’s heavier stuff going on-Besides the bad guy. The film’s final line says it all.
Joe Pesci will make you tear up in the 4th film
It's great how they give Leo a moment to shine in that movie and show how great guy he truly is, not to mention Joe Pesci as an actor 🙏
🐸
That’s exactly what I was thinking too
Riggs and Murtagh really were terrible friends if we're being honest.
Yeah, never expected THAT to happen, but it makes me tear up every time. 🥹
Another vote for 4. Its just as good as rest. The end…”I hear ya Riggs!” Gives me goosebumps lol
I suggest the movie "Ransom" (1996). It's also with Mel Gibson and Rene Russo (as a married couple).
I second that :)
And Lieutenant Dan.
@@SapphireBoy26 MAX?! How old are you? 😲
That's a good suggestion. Ransom is a great film!
The people who said 4 was no good, do not speak for everybody.
Many people loved it. I am one.
They were all EQUALLY good to me 😅
Love this series. So now you get the Maverick cameo when Danny Glover showed up in the wild west and they did the lethal weapon theme.
Loved that cameo! So subtle but after seeing lethal weapon it is awesome!
Yes, the combo of DT and Russel T Davies has great potential to bring back the magic! Can't wait!
You beat me to that factor. Very well done.
4 is worth it even just for Jet Li.
"Are you trying to bait me, Riggs?"
"I'm a master of it"
One of my all time favorite lines, lol.
You should have watched until the end of the credits. If you like Mel Gibson, watch Tequila Sunrise. Mel did great as a romantic lead in it. He was also great in Hamlet--a very versatile actor.
Fun fact, the building that blew up was actually a business building in Orlando Florida scheduled for demolition so they used it in the movie
The fourth movie is just as good as the first three. It’s a solid franchise.
The only franchise where EVERY movie good...
Can’t wait for you to watch LW4! Might not be the best of them all but has some of the most exciting action sequences, some of the funniest moments and it without doubt produced the most tears! A perfect ending to a great franchise
Can’t wait to see you watch lethal weapon 4 with jet li and Chris rock next.
See this badge? See this gun? Can I get a urine sample please?!
Leo's angry outbursts followed by "OK! ok! ok." when people try to reign him in never stopped being funny to me.
It's hard to rank them in order as each movie tells a different story. If you liked 3, you will love 4.
Well put and very true. 1 & 2 are a pair and 3 & 4 are a pair.
Speaking of the saxophone, it's such a brilliant detail by the composers: the saxophone represents Murtaugh while the guitar represents Riggs. 😃
No, Number 4 is good. You're gonna like it a lot. And Jet Li is outstanding in it.
Agreed! I grew up watching Jet Li so I was really excited that he finally came to Hollywood. Unfortunately, his HK movies were better than his Hollywood movies.
@@mikef2811 yeah, I definitely agree with you there. I do remember liking Unleashed though…🤔
Your love for Riggs and Murtaugh is awesome, can't wait for you to see the final one!! That one could be my fave
Danny Glover had a cameo in Mel Gibson's "Maverick.".... He was the bank robber. He used the line..."I'm getting too old for this..." there as well.
She already reacted to that movie before she watch Lethal Weapon, so she didn't get it.
The sax heard in every Lethal Weapon movie, is performed by jazz legend David Sanborn. His distinctive style of saxophone playing can also be heard in another Mel Gibson movie Tequila Sunrise, and the Bill Murray Christmas movie Scrooged (where he also makes a brief cameo with fellow jazz legends Miles Davis, Paul Shaffer, and Larry Carlton, as a group of street musicians.)
...and the fourth Lethal Weapon movie is definitely worth watching, and it does a great job of wrapping up the franchise!
Such warm memories of seeing this with my dad during the summer, at our favourite theater. I think this was one of the last films we saw before the theater closed forever. Happy memories.
SO glad to hear Mr. PIB is okay! Love this film and the film score is AMAZING!!!!!!!
Who told you lethal weapon 4 wasn’t good? LW4 is on par with the first 3 films, LW4 might be my favorite of the series.
My thoughts exactly, but better expressed.
Spot on
I will say this.
The saxophone is meant to represent Roger while the electric guitar represents Riggs.
Yes, legends David Sanborn (sax) and Eric Clapton (guitar)
Ransom has gary sinise.. Mel and Rene russo.. with Donnie walhberg.

Actually, she said "He's gonna suck your nose through your eyeballs", which makes it that much funnier!
@@frankbiondo3624I wrote the original when it was live. Must have caught my mistake a few seconds before your correction showed up. And I absolutely agree with you. 😂
@@ricardodelgado3706"She would be so bad in an interrogation room. Nobody would confess cuz she's too nice. Carly's definitely gonna have to be the bad cop."
- my daughter and probably their biggest fan.
The whole Lethal Weapon series is an example of how they used to know how to make movies. Glad you're enjoying it Cassie. Keep up the great work.
The fourth is one of my favorites. It’s hilarious
Leo was really heroic in this film but Rene Russo stole the show as an action hero and love interest . She was a model as a teenager and was in a short lived super hero show called Sable back in the 80s and it Thor's Mother: Frigga... who was briefly seen in The Avengers End Game when he went back in time and cried when he saw her. The Avengers series is a must see . Lethal Weapon 4 is awesome, but as series age people get too used to them but Jet Li is in it and Rene and Leo also, it's great.
I always love the lethal weapon series
The line that always gets me is “I have 3 beautiful kids, I love them, they’re yours!” It’s how I feel about my friend kids
