Blacksmithing - Forging a Rounding Hammer by Hand

  • I've wanted to switch out my old rounding hammer for a heavier one for quite a while now. Not only to get a heavier one but also one with a wider hammer face and more round on the rounding side.
This here is my first attempt at making such a hammer and I'm quite pleased with the end result. Forging out the metal wedges for the hammer, it felt really nice and smooth to use and I'm looking forward to testing it even more!
    Thanks for watching!

I get that but in my defense I'd have to spend a bunch of money and time to buy some steel, only to punch a hole in it.

Well done as all ways, May be a little thinner on the metal wedges the splitting of the halve is bad news over time. Here in California you could never get away with no belt guard on your forge there would be a swat team surrounding your house . Just kidding but were not fare away from that with our over regulations . Happy Trails stay safe in the shop.
