- New items have been released for October 2024 at Trader Joe's and I purchased everything so my husband and I can review them for you. We start off with the fig and honey batard bread loaf, dabble with some walnut cheese, fill up on a chicken veggie bowl and wash it all down with some beer and wine. Yum!

Grilled cheddar cheese sandwich using the fig bread 😊
Omg my thoughts exactly, I was about to comment this! Lol
I want to try the batard with goat cheese, a drizzle of honey and a sprinkle of crushed walnuts. It feels like it would be a good combination of flavors.
That sounds delicious
Thanks Tim….your palette is valid. Don’t be inTIMidated by anyone.
🤣
I sliced my bread and put it in the toaster oven and then put the new maple butter on it. It was so good.
The batard would be fabulous with goat cheese, brie, camembert or other blue cheese. Also would be amazing with some authentic French butter!!!!! Living in SoCal we have some amazing stores we can visit to purchase those amazing imported butters and cheese!!!! YUM!
Those cheaper "just ok" wines are often a good choice for using in cooking - like a pot roast or a pasta sauce or a pan sauce.
Yes! Such a good point!
The botard sounds delicious. I may have to buy and freeze a loaf to use for my Christmas breakfast. Every Christmas, I make a batch of bread pudding for Christmas breakfast. Reminds me of my grandpa and the first time i made it, and how he told me it reminded him of his mom, my great grandma who passed away when I was a baby.
The fig batard with the Gouda would make a great grilled cheese/panini
Ooh that sounds like a tasty sandwich
You've convinced me to buy the fig batard, thank you both! I wonder what it would taste like in crouton form with a slight drizzle of honey and combined with a sharp cheese like feta in a salad. That sounds marvelous.
Glad you guys were able to show us these cool products! It's about time TJ's had a true Teriyaki bowl!
Or baked as an appetizer topped with slices of the the new Brie log and fig
I can think of so many delicious recipes using the fig batard. Yummy!
I agree with Tim regarding the Chicken Teriyaki Bowl.
Katie I always love the way you fix your hair!
Tim, try the batard as an overnight french toast, and use enough of the egg/milk liquid to soak through the crust. Bake it in the oven the next morning. This is my favorite way to make french toast!
Fig jam is often on steak sandwiches, maybe you could use the fig bread on a streak sandwich?
I think cream cheese would work well with the fig bread. Years ago, a friend wanted to go to NYC to see a Picasso exhibit. I'm not fond of Picasso, but wish I'd gone just to see the city.
Definitely make French toast with the fig bread. I love French toast with baguette and crusty bread. You need to soak it a little longer in the eggy batter - it tastes great.
The fog bread sounds good with cream cheese.
Fig bread
I want to try the batard for French toast!
Got to go with Tim on the chicken teriyaki bowl. I really like it and picked up a couple more to have as quick weekday meals. I appreciate the fact that it's not over saucy as that can be too much sometimes. A group of my coworkers were going to Las Vegas for a bachelorette party for a long weekend but I didn't go. I let my anxieties take over for flying and being away. I was pretty young at the time so I wish I would have went. Everyone else had a blast.
I think I’m going to pick up a few for my 2nd shift job . Would make a good dinner
Kinda wish they used white meat in Teriyaki bowl
Didn’t have to think much for this one because it comes to mind frequently. We found the most beautiful piece of art in Sausalito many years ago. It was a large ocean scape painted with crushed shells. The artist was older and it was a gorgeous piece of mature art. It was quite expensive and we walked away. I still think of it. Should have bought it.
I wish you would show the packages longer
So that I might remember to buy that
lol! Katie likes the screw top indeed, I remember when Tim almost took her eye out when opening a cork top bottle, I was happy Katie was unscathed but she was shook. Rightfully so!
Oh my gosh! That was so crazy and the fact it was caught on video. 😂 glad it didn’t hit my eye!
Perfection. About to go TJ in 1 hour. Thx T and K!
I regret not going to a trip to Australia to see my old roommate because I just had a 18 month old baby girl, Amy. I'm so sad I didn't go because my baby girl could of stayed with her father and grandparents. Than My old roommate Marike and I lost touch and haven't seen her since. We had a beach house in Hermosa and had so much fun back in the days.
I always put smashed cardamom pods in with my coffee grounds of my percolator. It’s the bomb. I can’t drink red wine but occasionally I’ll have white Zinfandel usually from Germany.
I think when I was younger I made a lot of regretful choices, we as a family went to Florida and some of the family wanted to go to an unknown place called Epcot. I didn’t go, and I regret not going. It’s now incredibly expensive to go places like that, now.
I went a few days ago when I was in new Arizona from Canada and no Halloween 19 crimes wine …going to Lexington horror con next week and gonna try the TJs there. And getting that fig bread!
I found the 19 Crimes Halloween wine at Target
One time when I wish I would have said yes: I was at a concert and a guy (not unattractive but not über attractive either) told me I was beautiful and asked for my number. I was so shocked and caught off guard that I clammed up and ran away! I still regret not giving him my number- I even tried on missed connections to find him but with no luck. Womp womp
The fig bread would be delicious as a grilling cheese with a stinky/strong cheese inside! Really enjoyed your video today guys- loved hearing your honest stories too!
Yes…. When asked out by a certain person…. But oh well - life is good regardless ❤ great job this week !! Have a wonderful weekend!
Try the fig bread with ricotta and honey
I’m buying extra of the Gouda cheese, it sounds wonderful. I didn’t need to think twice about what I regretted. When my husband and I were first married our city hadn’t started expanding that much. Our friend’s mother was in real estate and told us to buy property just outside the city limits. We both thought it would be a foolish idea. I hang my head in shame, it’s now part of a large community with a golf course. 🤷🏻♀️. Oh well, I guess it was supposed to be. Looking forward to seeing your Halloween decorations. Have a great week
What happened to Trader Joe's Pumpkin beer?
Make French toast with the fig bread...
I would like to try that cheese that sounds delicious. I have a big regret. The year before my husband passed away. He wanted to go to Epcot in Disney World again because we used to go there all the time when we were younger and I had said no, I didn’t want to leave our outside feral cats that we were taking care of. And then mine ended up losing my husband last year. We never did get to go, and that makes me sad because I know how much he loved it there. I wish I could have a do ever. Lesson learned, don’t put things off
Unfortunately, none of the new items appealed to me this week but I had a great time just shopping my favorite items
Thanks for the taste test! Mine is like Tim’s . I should have bought airline stock after 9/11. I would have doubled my money.
I worked for an airline in the 90’s. I had an opportunity to fly everywhere for free but I didn’t.
Katie, how teenager-ish of you lol. I did not take a trip with my mother and sisters-in-law to NYC because it would have been hard to find childcare, and I really missed out. Still kick myself.
That would be nice to take your parents back to the park
How can you not like honey
I’m with Tim; I remember bitcoin was like $11 before I went to business school. I was anticipating being a student and trying to save $, so I didn’t buy any. Little did I know that if I had bought and held like $44 of it, it could have paid for my entire MBA (and then some)!
Your house is haunted? Those ghosts look great. Did you make them?
I bet you're looking forward to your Halloween party...🎃
When I was teaching we used to draw spooky faces on white packing peanuts as a toddler craft. I sent my adult kids a package (forgetting about the spooky peanuts) and they were surprised by the peanut ghosts. It just happened to be a Halloween gift so they thought I did it on purpose. They even posted it on FB because they thought it was so funny.
I regret tuning down a trip to a family reunion to see elder relatives. It was a road trip and I get car sick. I should've flown rather than miss out.
The ghosts were from last year. I didn’t make them but I did add spookier faces on them. I’m very excited for our party!
Did not like the Gouda walnut cheese yuck
I regret moving to Florida from NJ. NJ pays professionals better, and you do not need to speak fluent Spanish to get a good job in the mental health field.
Didn’t like the teriyaki chicken bowl at all. Disappointed.
